Exterior Lighting Problems of Buick Lesabre

Had to remove dome light bulbs beause it doesnt turn off, the lights on the rear st times and I'v just bought a second battery 3 days ago because the lighting problem caues them to burn out. Sometimes the lights will fade out. Mst time it doesnt and I can't turn them off manually either. Just found out about the recalls on this vehicle.

J & k mitchell casey, IL. 62420 purchased on 4/11/2014, 98,104 mileage. Headlamps go off at nite driving, very unnerving, fuel gage, haywire from the start, while driving, engine would accellerate when turning right. Swaying/suspension, when turning, driving down the road, reported this many times and taken into dealer. . However, never taken care of. Only thing fixed was solenoid.

The lights on the heater control quit working making it hard to see at night.

1. Dashboard separating from windshield and causing 3" gap causing partial obstruction. Now is separating more at drivers' side near steering wheel, and about 75% pulled away at this time. Critical safety problem because air bags may be deployed and injury or death could occur. Cannot fix easily and consider it is a critical defect and inferior workmanship. Not able to safely drive the car or able to sell it! 2. Electric windows in back passenger and driver side had to be replaced. $$ 3. Light switch control malfunctions and recently stuck in the "on" position. Had to disconnect battery to turn off. This just happened last night and was inconvenienced greatly !! 4. Headliner falling down and was repaired twice. Now is falling down where it was not repaired!.

Tl- the contact owns a 1996 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that the courtesy lights would illuminate at any time even when the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle would also exhibit a chiming noise, causing the battery to drain. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was also contacted and denied any assistance with repairs to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 108,000. Kmj.

At times when attempting to switch from high beam to low beam lights turn off . When this happens there is a car coming other way .

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that while exiting a parking space, the accelerator pedal became extremely resistant and the contact experienced difficulty in depressing the accelerator. In addition, the contact stated that the interior lights would sporadically flicker on and off while driving. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or a mechanic for inspection or repairs. The failure mileage was 150,000. Kmj.

The lights on my heater console began to go out, one by one over a one week period. Obviously all these bulbs were manufactured at the same tine to the very same specs! after finding out from y service shop that I would have to replace the whole unit (at a cost of over $600 just for the part), I found some bulbs from radio shack that I soldered in myself (through fixya. Com - so many people had the same problem). Shortly thereafter, more bulbs on other switches (window controls, steering wheel controls, radio) also went out. This could be a very dangerous situation if you have drivers hunting in the dark for controls as they are driving. Texting is bad enough, but fumbling in the dark for your own car's controls and trying to correct a button you pushed inadvertently can cause a major accident.

When I accidentally ( with out my knowing that I had bumped the parking light switch) bumped the parking light switch while adjusting the dash lights while driving after dark the head lights went out, I had no idea why the head lights went out. It was a good thing that I was only driving about 5 to 10 mile per hour and was able to stop with out an accident. It took me a while to figure out why the head lights had gone out, I pushed all the light switches until finding out that I had accidentally pushed the parking light switch. I notified Buick customer service and they said that there was nothing wrong with the lights, that the head lights were designed to go out when the parking light switch was pushed. They refused to take any action of any kind what so ever. If your head lights go when driving 65 mph after dark, that it is a serious safety problem.

Given the number of failures, I would like to see the manufacturer extend the warranty for my lighting system. I would also like to know know if a lot of other people have had similiar problems. Thanks you!.
