Unknown Or Other Problems of Buick Lesabre - part 2

In just a few weeks the dash buckled up almost six inches between the steering wheel and the windshield. Contacted gm/Buick and they got the local dealer on the phone with us. Neither would do a thing except give me a quote of $1000 for replacement. After checking several forums on this issue, it appears there is a definite design/manufacturing problem that gm refuses to acknowledge. Prior to this the car had been garage kept and the interior detailed to keep things like this from occurring. Just wait until the airbag deploys while someone is driving and is killed or gravely injured. Such a shame this kind of situation needs to occur before something is done!.

Dash pad curling way up where dash meets window. From drivers side to passanger side. I see from differtent web sites that this has been a major flaw for gm. Impedes vision to see traffic ahead. Gmnor dealers will address the problem for a recall.

Back power windows - something on the cable breaks and the window falls down. Now there is no way to keep the window up other than to block it up on the inside door panel with a block of wood. The first window fell a couple of years ago. This week the second window fell. We hardly ever use these windows as there is just the two of us. It costs $600 each to repair. Our extended warranty is over. What is our recourse? is there any recall so the manufacturer would fix this? (having to block up windows is really a good way to advertise how great our car is! we had thought about buying another Buick, but now I wonder. ).

Window regulators are junk! continually breaking! manufacturing design problem?.

The car leaks on the left side. Water will stand in the floorboards. Under the back seat water will be under the battery and fuse box. The left side of the trunk is always wet and water stands in the spare tire well. It is not leaking from the windshield. The back above the back seat is not wet. Water gushes from front to back when going up and down hills. No one can find where the water is coming from. Its a boat.

The dashboard on my 2003 Buick Lesabre began to separate and peel away from the body and buckle out toward the passenger section of the vehicle. This cannot be pushed back into place. It will very likely propose a safety issue if the air bags need to be deployed or may even cause premature air bag deployment.

The dash pad is coming apart, separating and buckling up so high that it is now a visual hazard when driving. When the weather is somewhat warm or hot, the buckling is much worse. It is now separating further towards the passenger side and I am afraid that the air bag could possibly deploy while driving. This vehicle is equipped with a heads up display and even that is being affected by the dash pad coming apart. I paid lots of money for this vehicle and expect to keep and drive it for many years. With this safety defect getting much worse as time goes by, I now wonder how much longer I will be able to drive it. It is a complete shame because this vehicle is like brand new except for this unsafe factory defect. Every one of these vehicles from years 2001 thru 2005 that I have noticed in parking lots, driveways, garages, and even on the highways, have this same factory safety defect. I have friends and family members who own this same model vehicle but different year models, and their dash pads are exactly the same way as mine. Please make gm issue a recall and fix this safety defect before someone is killed!!!.

The padded dash has peeled up and away from dash frame in front of the steering wheel. It is continuing to spread (peel up and away from the frame) across the padded dash from left to right, towards the passenger area. It continues to grow in severity, and I am concerned about the passenger airbag, with respects to it deploying without warning, due to the peeling/warping of the dash around it. I have put a dash mat (cover) over the problem for appearance purposes, but even that doesn't hide the growing magnitude of the problem anymore. I have been told that it will cost me anywhere from $350 - $1,200. 00 to correct this problem from independent repair shops in the area, to the gm Buick dealer. This is a design flaw, & "safety" issue direct from the manufacturer. Other than this ever increasing problem, the car is in immaculate condition, & I would like to keep it due to its mechanical reliability, fuel economy, & comfort. I believe an oem padded dash replacement, should be made a recall on the part of gm as this has not happened due to negligence, age of the vehicle (it began when the car was relatively new), or accident. I respectfully look forward to receiving a response from you.

Dad bought a new 2005 Buick Lesabre in oct. 2005. He had an accident Feb. 18 this accident was not his fault a car backed out of his driveway and hit his as he was driving by. Now he has turned it into his insurance and person to repair. Insurance ok car to be fixed February 21, auto body turned in for parts same day or next. Connot find rear panel door. Gm said it may take a while to find. So my dad has been driving around in a damaged car which gm won't give him a car to drive "even though it is their fault that he can't get this part" the fender is rubbing against the tire when it turns corners the bells are ringing because doors are jammed and damaged. Now he is 77 and drives church members to doctors and to get groceries etc. What is wrong with our country that a gm dealer would put a senior in this position or for that matter anyone in this country in this kind of position and not give them a loaner until there part came in to repair this car. . . . . . . . . . !!!!!!!!!! we have made a complaint with gm and also to a dealership in NY which he was really nice but also said he couldn't help because he was just a dealership in NY "my mistake" thought it was the big guy. So how does one get a car fixed or make a company such as gm give a person a loaner while waiting for his part to come in. His representation person hasn't even called him back after his complaint which he did call the number in the back of his car manual. . So people, don't buy a Buick Lesabre because if you do and you have an accident they don't have the parts for it and you drive a piece of junk around that is dangerous waiting for the part. What a safety hazard this is. . . . . If something happens to my dad all hell will break loose.

2005 Buick Lesabre limited. The consumer is concerned there are no ash trays in the back of vehicle. He feels that someone may sit in the back seat and put the ashes in the plastic part of the door. He does not feel it is appropriate that smokers cannot sit in the back seat of vehicle. The consumer noticed this on September 9, 2005.

The rear driver side power window failed. There was a loud pop and the window slid half way down and would not go back up. I talked to my mechanic, and he said that it was a cable that broke. He knew instantly because he had replaced many of them in similar Buick Lesabres. We know of two friends personally who have had the same problem. For one friend, it happened on more than one window in her car. To get it fixed at the dealership cost nearly $500. It appears to us that this is a faulty part and that the auto maker should recall and repair it at their cost.

In Jan. 2005 the battery posts corroded off and acid leaked onto floor causing a hole. . . . Gm replaced battery. . . . Now I have both rear windows fall down and I had to wire them up from inside the door panel to keep them up. No response from gm. Then the left front window fell and I did same thing to it. . . Dealer just says it is roughly 500. 00 a door to fix. . . . This is ridiculous. . I have bought only Buicks for last 41 yrs and will rethink buying the next one.

In November,2002, our vehicle would not start. We took it to the local licensed mechanic and he discovered the upper manifold and gasket were disintegrated. On further research he obtained a copy of a bulletin from general motors that stated if you have to replace the upper manifold, also replace the lower. Our mechanical insurance paid for the upper but not the lower. We wrote to gm and after a few e-mails, of course they said no way. I do not understand why there has not been a recall on this problem. Cup holders will hold nothing. An attempt to put a car designed cup holder of hot coffee could result in severe injuries. There is nothing that will fit in the drink holder---not a can, not a cup, not a bottle!!.

Speedometer is not accurate; needle bounces erratically; cannot determine speed. Part replaced by dealer in 9/1998; problem recurred in 9/2001; part replaced by dealer; problem recurred in 10/2005. Remote keyless entry failed after four repair attempts.

Consumer requesting information on recalls for a 2002 Buick Lesabre.

Battery acid leaked out of the positive terminal onto the floor pan. (nar).

The consumer states that the sun shines upon the light gray dashboard, the dash board reflects up into the windshield reducing the visibility by an estimated 30 percent. The consumer has placed a black cloth on the dash to improve the visibilty and feels that the solution to this problem is simple and inexpensive; make the dash board flat black.

There is a reflection from the defroster vent on the dashboard which is very blinding to consumer. Took vehicle to dealer, but problem still exists.

The clock runs irregularly. Yh.

Slope of windshield and color of dash, causes severe reflections, which at times causes blindness.

Rpms race, check engine light is illuminating on the dash and vehicle hesitates/ stalls and will not accelerate. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer unable to determine the cause of the problem.
