1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2022

My power steering went out so my mechanic checked it out and said my pump went out so I bought a new power steering pump and pulley had it put on and that didn't fix the problem. The next day I went out of town to visit family and my car caught on fire due to the power steering fluid leaked all out on the motor and got hot enough to catch on fire. Then my ignition stoped going all the way in park so I would have to disconect my battery cables so that it wouldn't run my battery down. The car wouldn't go all the way up in park making the ignition key wouldn't turn back far enough to shut my car off and lights.

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2022

The car cuts off whwn you're driving it without warning. I have had the crankshaft position sensor replaced two times and it continues to fail. There are even reports in the internet that list this as a problem with this vehicle. I am afraid that someone will hit me from the rear and cause me injury or death. I am about to have this sensor replaced for a third time. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to keep spending money out of my pocket for the same thing over and over again. This incident is a continual problem. It doesn't matter if you're stopped or driving it just happens out of the blue with no warning.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2019

Steering wheel is turnt to right and the only the front light come on not the back and my alarm is messing with with the computer and the gas.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

While passing a vehicle, accelerator immediately accelerated the vehicle to over 115 mph quickly, and the speed continued to climb. Could not deaccelerate. Both feet on the brake, no luck, shifted to 1st gear, no luck, pushed many buttons on steering wheel, no luck, accepted the fact that this was going to be a high speed deliberate rollover. Finally at the last possible moment, throttle disengaged.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2017

I am writing a complaint to inform you about my 2006 Buick Lucerne, VIN number 1g4hd57296u171354. It has a defect. The car has been accelerating at various times. Also, the car has turned off twice while I was driving. The first time was while I was driving in the parking lot at my job and the second time was on may 24, 2017 as I was just starting to pass the blinking lights. I really feel that the car is no longer safe to be driven after the recall in 2015. I honestly would like the problem fixed as soon as possible for my safety and the safety of others. This car is unsafe and I would prefer to have the value of the car instead of the car being repaired. The car was supposedly fixed after the recall and the same problem is still happening. It is my opinion that this car cannot be repaired.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2017

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lucerne. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off. After restarting the engine, the vehicle continued to shut off. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 67,000.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2014

I have filed a prior claim with you on the ignition control module failure. Dealer replaced the entire module - gm subsequently issued recall for Buicks, altho they are claiming the failure has to do with a slot/hole in a key. I had only the key and the lock fob on the key - I did not have lots of keys and other accessories linked to my key, nor did I hit a pothole or anything jarring. The car just died, no brakes, steering, unable to restart the car and I had to have it towed. I was fortunate that it was at a low speed and not 65 mph on a highway. This repair cost me $939 dollars. And I am not sure that the replacement part isn't a defective duplicate, an inventory shelf item that has the same defect as the part replaced. If gm is claiming it's only a key issue, then the drivers of these larger vehicles are all at risk, as well as other vehicles that might be involved in an accident with a car unable to be controlled. Please don't let them get away with sweeping this issue under the rug. I don't want to be injured or cause a death because gm doesn't want to spend the money to replace defective modules. . 9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2014

Car died while driving it. Lost power steering and brakes. Had car towed to dealer. It was diagnosed as having a faulty ignition module. I was lucky I was not on a highway at high speed. Given the company recalls on ignition parts on other nameplates, it is likely that the Buicks are also seeing ignition problems and failures but gm has not issued a recall for this car platform. I hope that no one is seriously injured or killed before this defective part is recalled. I consider myself lucky.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2012

Took my car into firestone and found out that the motor mounts are sagging. Most cars only need the bolts on the mounts replace - the Lucerne is the only one where you need to replace all the motor mounts because they don't have bolts in them. Another few miles and I will have an engine sitting on the highway. I am extremely upset because my husband is already handicapped and we bought this vehicle to last for more than 150,00 miles before we had to sink that kind of money in it. I have had a second opinion and it is indeed a problem.

11 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2011

The contact owns 2006 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that the engine would violently shake. The contact took the vehicle to their mechanic and was informed that three of the four engine mounts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that later model year vehicles were being repaired free of charge for the same failure. No reason was provided as to why the failure occurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2010

Lower front motor support replaced @ about 45,000 miles. Now @ 81,000 replaced torque bar ? (upper front of engine 2 big bolts replaced myself) great idea for a less powerful 3800 engine. Also constant anti-freeze leak. You know the cause. It is all over the I-net. . . Plastic connections. !!!!!! all this is common knowledge, why has nothing been done???? lji.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2010

While driving the car looses all engine power and will just roll and this continues for up to 2-10 seconds. You do have ps,pb and all electric items the engine just falls to a idle. Then the engine races for a few seconds when it recovers. You have no idea this is happen until you fell the car is not powering. We owned the car since new in 06. This happen several time when the car was new now 2. 5 years latter it is starting this again. Buick has not been able to fix this issue. Milage on car is 42,000.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2007

I own an '06 Buick Lucerne cxs with defective motor mounts. These motor mounts are known to be defective and many bulletins have been posted, along with many known customers getting them replaced. I however have had bad luck getting my local Buick dealership to replace them. The problem happens while taking off from a stop. The defective mounts cause the engine to vibrate and shake the car. This to me seems like a very dangerous issue to have to deal with and would like to get these mounts replaced as soon as possible.
