My power steering went out so my mechanic checked it out and said my pump went out so I bought a new power steering pump and pulley had it put on and that didn't fix the problem. The next day I went out of town to visit family and my car caught on fire due to the power steering fluid leaked all out on the motor and got hot enough to catch on fire. Then my ignition stoped going all the way in park so I would have to disconect my battery cables so that it wouldn't run my battery down. The car wouldn't go all the way up in park making the ignition key wouldn't turn back far enough to shut my car off and lights.
Electronics shut down while driving. Nhtsa# 10972355 NHTSA id# 10908198.
While passing a vehicle, accelerator immediately accelerated the vehicle to over 115 mph quickly, and the speed continued to climb. Could not deaccelerate. Both feet on the brake, no luck, shifted to 1st gear, no luck, pushed many buttons on steering wheel, no luck, accepted the fact that this was going to be a high speed deliberate rollover. Finally at the last possible moment, throttle disengaged.
Back doors are stuck locked. Neither door will open. Have two kids that have to ride back there and if we get in an accident it could be fatal if they are back there and can't get out!!.
I am writing a complaint to inform you about my 2006 Buick Lucerne, VIN number 1g4hd57296u171354. It has a defect. The car has been accelerating at various times. Also, the car has turned off twice while I was driving. The first time was while I was driving in the parking lot at my job and the second time was on may 24, 2017 as I was just starting to pass the blinking lights. I really feel that the car is no longer safe to be driven after the recall in 2015. I honestly would like the problem fixed as soon as possible for my safety and the safety of others. This car is unsafe and I would prefer to have the value of the car instead of the car being repaired. The car was supposedly fixed after the recall and the same problem is still happening. It is my opinion that this car cannot be repaired.
Vehicle has numerous issues over the years. 80k miles currently, tires leak air because of corrosion on the rims, this is my 2nd set of tires not counting the set the vehicle came with, breaks have been done twice, rotors have been replaced, both front door handles have come off, problems with the leveler, now door locks lock/unlock while driving but not just once (might happen 6-8 times). Local dealer & service station have performed repairs/replacements. Already been under 2 recalls.
Rear passenger side door was opened and closed after entering, once we tried to open that door it no longer opened from the inside or the outside. The same thing happened to the rear driver's side door the next day, now neither of the rear doors open from the inside or the outside. The child safety locks were not on prior to this happening so it couldn't have had an effect on why this happened as we were able to exit the vehicle without having to open them from the inside and outside, now it won't open at all from either side. There are 3 children always sitting in the back and have to jump over the center console from the front and this is also a hazard in case of a fire or accident if trying to exit the car.
The passenger side rear door does not unlock from the inside or the outside. My daughter was in the back seat and told me she could not get out. I got out of the car and attempted to open the door from the outside with no success. I tried the electric lock button on the driver side and passenger side without success. This is a very dangerous situation and have read numerous complaints from many individuals. It appears gm has a faulty locking mechanism.
I started the engine and the "low engine power light" came on the dashboard. I pressed the pedal down and had to press the pedal all the way to the floor to get the car to go 5 mph. I had to drive on the shoulder of the road and keep pumping the gas pedal up and down to keep the car going. At traffic lights I had to put the car in neutral and floor it to race the engine in order for the car to move. It is hazard driving on a free way at 5 mph. I was able to make it to tire discounters because they were the only one open on christmas eve as mark sweeney GMC/Buick was not open and normally take my car to brocherding GMC/Buick. The service person at tire discounters discovered it was the throttle switch which was bad. I ended up being able to get a rental car while my car ws being repaired. I picked up my car on December 29, 2014 to find that another person had brought their 2006 or 07 Buick in for the same problem at tire discounter. I will never own another american made car again. This Buick Lucerne is the demon car and I have spent over 10k in repairs the past 3 years to keep it running.
Latches locks linkages -- starting at 52000 miles, my Buick Lucerne 2006's rear passenger door would not open under any circumstances. The door will not open from the inside, from the outside, and although the key fob visibly actuates the latch, it does not assist in opening the door. Now at 53000, the driver's side rear door will not open. I now have no access to half of the inside of the automobile. After investigating numerous complaints on the internet, I discovered that apparently this is due to a latch assembly failure in each door. The Buickforums. Com provided advice: chisel open the back doors, then pull the door panel off. At that point, apparently the visible linkages are not the issue. Instead, it is the internal mechanism of the lock housing. Problem not resolved.
I am writing in regards to the gm recall #14299. Ignition issue. We received a letter from Buick/gm the end of September. I called the local Buick GMC dealer to set up an appt to get it fixed, and she said I would have to call back in 2-3 weeks because the parts were backordered. Last week on the national news gm was complaining because people weren't getting this problem taken care of and they wanted to offer gift cards. I called the local dealer again and now the parts are in but they are booked until December 15 of this year because now everyone wants to get their vehicles fixed. So I have to go a little over another month before I can get this fixed? not real happy about how this was handled. If there's a recall, the manufacturer should have the parts in stock before a letter is sent out telling up to get our vehicle fixed right away.
My daughter drove the car to school and when school was out the car would not go into gear. My husband came and tried to get the car into gear but also had no luck. We had to have the car towed to the garage for work. I looked up recalls and noticed the Cadillac has a recall for the same part. Total cost for dealer parts and towing, installation and labor is $ 360. 00.
After driving the car to school my daughter was unable to shift the car into gear. My husband went to the car and was also unable to shift. We had the vehicle towed to our local garage and received a call this morning that the shifter cable broke. The total price for repair is 360. 00 I noticed there was a recall for a similar gm vehicle for the shift cable breaking and a recall issued in the Cadillac vehicle. The recall claimed the vehicle was unable to shift in or out of gear. This is the same problem we experienced with our Lucerne. I'm thinking the Lucerne should be included in this recall. Thank you for checking.
Freeze plug failed (not due to freezing). Dealer indicated not to drive vehicle. Was necessary to tear out transmission to make repairs with a new type of replacement plug. Dealer had car from Wednesday noon to following Tuesday evening. New type of seal cost $24. 50 and the labor was $1,114. 00. Gateway Buick in dallas, texas. Indicated that if seal was not replaced I could loose all coolant and hot engine could cause steam that would hinder my vision and leave me stranded along the road. The next morning after repairs were completed the check engine light came on and vehicle would not shift out of low. Had to return vehicle to dealer for additional repairs. Seems to me that the original freeze plug was badly designed and that gm had to develope a new type of seal in order to prevent accidents and damage. .
Both rear doors do not open. The latches have failed. It is impossible to get out of the backseat, unless you crawl through the front. The latches have latched forever. The door does not open from the inside or outside. It started intermittently with one door then the next. They have been closed now for over year with being unable to open them. We have three children who will be stuck in the back if there is an accident. This needs to be under extended warranty. This is unacceptable and is a safety hazzard.
I put my car in park, 5 minutes later I go to take it out of park and it does not shift. It has happened 3 times since I got the car in 2013. The gear shift is giving me a big problem and of course only the first incident was covered under my warranty.
My rear doors will not open from the inside or the outside. My 4 door vehicle has been forced to be a 2 door coupe. I have 80,000 miles on the vehicle.
Back door will not open inside or out side just stopped working !!!some one could get stuck in the back because door will not open saftey issue !!!!!!!! I was told gm was tod about this problem and had no racall because im not the only person this has happened too !!!! this is not fair its a saftey issue that should of been fixed with a recall !!!!.
Reported this to dealer on 7/2/13 and was diagnosed as inside door lock assy at 58. 97$, and 410$ plus tax to repair. Went home banged on in side of door and was able to open until this week when problem reacurred and no amount of banging would open door. Went on google and noted this to be prevelent with many owners. This can be fatal in an accident where the passenger cannot exit the vehicle. Do we have to wait for a fatality before the gm acknowleges either a faulty design or faulity part, and repair without customer cost. Please advise.
I closed the rear driver's side door. I then locked the car. Later after unlocking the vehicle the door would not open; from the outside or inside. It appears to be locking and unlocking. After checking forums I see that there are many Buick Lucerne owners that have also experienced this issue. This is a major safety issue! I can't believe there isn't a recall on this car. I'm scared to put my children in the back seat by chance we are in a accendent and they are injured.
