Been having a clunk/bump type sound in the steering when the car is sitting still or at low speed, had a local dealer look at it a year ago and they found nothing, in addition too we are finding drops of oil in our driveway. We have had several people look at it, with no luck at finding the leak. Recently the whole front end has been shaking, with several folks checking, including the local dealer who yesterday told me they no longer work on gm products. I looked online and found that the 2006 models had the same problems, so I talked to the a dealer and he said there is nothing they could do since there were no service bulletins or recalls for these problems for 2007. Then I found your site and found there were several other people who have had the same problem. I told Buick this and they said there was nothing they could do that is was only the 2006 models with this problem. I told them there was way to much of a coincident that all these people are having the same problem for it to only be the year before. We are smelling burning oil and driveway full of oil just waiting to get into the local lake, not to mention the recall said it could cause a fire. Check service bulletin # 273064 action # 10032192 report date Mar 01, 2012 recall # 06v105000 service bulletin # 06v105000 (our vehicle is a v8) from your site: NHTSA # 10022433 & 10032192 & 1020815 odi # 101483409 & 10460626.
While driving at 55-60 mph in 5:00 p. M. Baton rouge, la traffic on joor road, I heard the doors automatically lock, then the engine died, I lost power including steering, brakes, and almost caused a terrible pile-up as my car stopped in heavy traffic. I had no ability to steer, brake, no power. I was at the mercy of god and this dead car, praying that no one was killed. I eventually was able to coast to a stop. Other vehicles were able to move to other lanes, abandoning me to the right hand lane of traffic. I called onstar and they should have the recording of the conversation, the terror I was in, and their instructions. I have 4 recorded incidences of the repetitive nature of this vehicle malfunction. I can provide details of all incidences, follow-ups with gm, and eventually having to payoff the piece of "junk" at a loss of over $20,000. My last gm purchase. I have since been driving toyotas. My experiences with gm management was horrific.
