1 Body problem of the 2010 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 10/02/2021

I purchased the car from Buick spec dealership in prosser wa on Aug. 2, 2021. The car was sold to me with rocket panel damaged, the rear brakes- rotors needed replaced and one side brake completely gone. . The pins frozen. The cars transmission fluid dark dirty. . Low on oil. . No coolant or wiper fluid at purchase. They brought car to me during covid. The door didn't shut properly I assumed the rubber around door needed replaced and I planned to have it repaired until I seen a bulge under my driver's side door. Took it in and was told by 2 certified auto body places the rocker panel was damaged. My car started to shimmy when stopping and now the prior recall of fuse relay box burning caused my car to be currently sitting. I don't understand how they could sell me a car like this and this is my complaints. I want my repairs done and money reimbursed I've already paid for. The dealership said because I purchased car as is. They aren't responsible to fix. I've owned the car a little over 3 months. This seems unfair and I want answers!!!.

2 Body problem of the 2007 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 06/10/2021

The trunk allows water to enter each time it rains. This causes water to collect in the spare tire department in the trunk. After it rains, trunk must be vacuumed out in order to retrieve water out of trunk. Unfortunately, this has caused my trunk liner to mold completely, as well as to begin molding under my back seat. My daughter and I have a mold allergy which has been affected by the mold in the car which is impossible to get rid of due to the location it has grown.

3 Body problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 01/04/2021

Front passenger door latch has come loose multiple times while in the vehicle. It temporarily fixes itself, then randomly occurs again. Door will not open from the inside or outside. This is definitely a hazard in an accident. This isn't the first Lucerne that I've driven with this problem and it's quite common. There is no safety lock on the door for this to keep happening.

8 Body problem of the 2009 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 07/06/2019

Going down highway 70 mph straightaway car stalled able to get to side of highway pulled off seat found fuse box temp hot when cooled down noticed fuel relay switch burnt out. Common problem with car due to engineering of seat brackets hitting fuse box and damaging it. This is the second time in 5 years fuse box has been replaced by certified dealership. Obviously problem is with the engineering of seat bracket but apparently dealer does not take me seriously and did not trim seat clips per my specific request bc there is only a bulletin from gm 15-na-051 not a recall. Several complaints have been made and must be common enough for a bulletin luckily no one was tailgating or this could have been a very serious accident.

9 Body problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 07/01/2018

Door does not open using either inner or outer door handle. I have seen many people complain about this issue on line. Buick has had this problem on multiple cars for multiple years. Safety issue big time when one cannot get out of the car quickly because door won't open. There are only 2 people in my family and thus the rear doors are very seldom used. Did not break from overuse, design problem.

10 Body problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 06/23/2018

Rear door(s) will not open from either the outside handle or the inside. This is definitely not related to the position of the child lock protection on the doors. It appears sporadically at first until, finally, nothing can be done to open the door(s). This is a extreme safety hazard if someone needs to get out of the car in a hurry (I. E. Fire, accident, etc. ) one would have to crawl over the front seats to get out in this situation. This appears to be a common problem/complaint among Buick Lucerne owners (via the internet) and with various model years.

11 Body problem of the 2008 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 05/25/2018

Automatic door locks on various doors have failed repeatedly. This problem has required entire replacement of the door lock/latch assembly's which is quite expensive. Failure of door locks is sometimes not immediately noticeable since it is intermittent at first, until it does not work at all. Children or persons could fall out of car as result of failed locks that you think are locked but they are not. You rely on the door locks to keep everyone safe from accidentally opening the doors.

Stopped at a yield sign where the road came to a t. I had the right of way to make my turn. As soon as I was making the turn the other driver drove foward hitting the driver side of my car totaled my driver door. The airbags on either side of the car never went off.

18 Body problem of the 2007 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 10/06/2016

The driver's side door handle is coming off. My car was in my garage when on Friday, September 30, I opened the door and the handle pulled away from the door. I could not open the door! I had to enter the car through the passenger's side in order to open the driver's side door. I then pushed the driver's side door handle back into place and used shipping tape to keep it in place until I could get it repaired. I called the Buick national helpline and was told there was an unofficial recall for this issue and they called my local Buick dealer and arranged for me to have the repairs done under warranty, today, October 5. The dealer, fox valley Buick GMC in st. Charles, IL said they would do the repairs but it would cost approximately $200. I had no other option and had the door handle replaced. I was charged $74 for a $30 part and $134 for labor. I am waiting to hear from the dealership owner to discuss this matter of charging for warranty repairs.

20 Body problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 05/23/2016

On may 13, 2016 I went to open the driver's side front door. The car was stationary. To my utter surprise, the handle came completely off! on may 25, I took it to reichard, dealership. Since the car has only 54, 589 miles on it I asked the dealer for assistance in paying to fix it. He refused, saying "we get a lot of these. The manufacturer used plastic instead of metal and the plastic breaks. " I asked the advisor to call general motors. She did and reported back to me that gm would not do anything. One of the advisors told me that I can expect the other three door handles to break as well. Since the car only has 54k miles, how could that happen? I have three other cars and only drive the Lucerne a few times a year, mainly on out-of-town trips. Therefore, I have driven the car only about 5,500 miles per year. I consider this a defect in the design and manufacturing of this vehicle. This defect will cost me about $1,000. But most importantly, it could be a safety hazard if/when a I need to to enter the car and when someone has to be quickly extracted from the car! also, a few friends and complete strangers who own Buick Lucernes have told me that I can expect to have transmission problems with this car. Have you had complaints with the transmissions?.

Buick's front damaged by a punch that drove into the engine (corner of oncoming vehicle hit our vehicle just off center toward driver side) and resulting in a near front on collision, from inspection by adjuster, and first responders were that air bags should have deployed. 23 Body problem of the 2009 Buick Lucerne

Driver interior door lever breaking often, plastic component around central lever pivot that connects to lock release cable breaks leaving passenger stranded on interior. Only way to open door is to roll down window and reach for the exterior door handle. Driver could be trapped in an emergency without ability to escape rapidly. Shortage of replacement parts indicates that this is a very frequent repair item. Replacement product is of inferior materials and poor design. This car should be recalled for this safety defect. Probably affects several years and models.

The driver's side, interior door handle is broken. The entire inside door panel must be replaced. There are no replacement parts available. The dealer has tried to order a replacement part but has been unable to get one. I have checked with the local salvage yards and have been unable to find one there either. I am 79 years old with arthritis. I have had several joint replacements as well. It is very difficult for me to roll down the window and open the door using the outside handle. I am unable to crawl over the console to get out the passenger side door. When at home I park in the garage and leave the window down. Last week I got in my car and the battery was dead. Fortunately this happened at home in my garage where I leave the window down. If I had arrived at my destination and then came back and got in my car the outcome could have been disastrous. I would have been stuck in my car on a humid sunny 94 degree day. This could have been fatal. As I mentioned earlier my dealer has been unable to get a replacement part. My son and I have both contacted Buick. Other than to acknowledge that they have received our complaints they have been slow to respond. This is a potentially life threatening defect as the temperature in this area regularly exceeds 90 degrees in the summer, and below freezing in the winter. I am writing this on behalf of my 79 year old mother m. Jean mayes.
