While driving home on rereidental street( 31th near charles street) in rockford IL. At 8:00pm,crossing over charles street while the intersection light in my direction; and east bound vehicle dis-regared the light and crossed into my path turning left going south causing damage to the entire vehicle from the tires to the bumper. The empact turning the vehicle ( 2006 Buick lucrene 4 dr. ) completely around. My main concern is that the air bags ( driver/pass) did not deport. . . . Question to you is there any steps I can take to settle this issue for compensation. . The vehicle was a total lost.
Both rear passengers doors will not open from the inside or outside. This has been an recurring problem for about a year, it is such a shame how many complaints are filled for this particular defect and there is not any recalls.

Both rear doors do not open. The latches have failed. It is impossible to get out of the backseat, unless you crawl through the front. The latches have latched forever. The door does not open from the inside or outside. It started intermittently with one door then the next. They have been closed now for over year with being unable to open them. We have three children who will be stuck in the back if there is an accident. This needs to be under extended warranty. This is unacceptable and is a safety hazzard.
Driver's door would not open from either outside or inside after multiple tries of locking and unlocking. Dealer thinks it's the actuater. It happened a few times when I tried to get out of the car forcing me to crawl thru the passenger side. Being 85 yrs. Old this was no easy thing to do !!! if there was an accident damaging the passenger side iwould be trapped. I consider this a safety concern.

I was driving down the highway and for no apparent reason, my sunroof exploded and shattered into tiny pieces. The noise was like a gunshot and glass came into the car because the visor was open at the time. I did not lose control of the car, but the noise did cause me to be distracted and disoriented for a short time. If there had been more traffic, it might have been a lot worse. I can not attribute the event to any weather condition or vehicle use condition.
The rear passenger doors of the car do not open. The automatic door locks have failed to work. The mechanism design has failed because the manual door lock releases do not work. It is impossible to exit (or enter) the car from the backseat. The rear doors on both sides of the car do not open. There has been no accident and there has never been any prior damage. Since more than two people often ride in this vehicle, this is an extreme safety hazard because it is impossible to access the back seat of the car (especially in an emergency) unless reaching over the front seat from inside the car.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, the driver's side door handle detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

Was stopped in a traffic jam on the hwy when a full size van ran into the rear of my car pushing my car into the car in front of me. There was damage to the rear and front of my car. The airbags didn't deploy.
When my wife was parking the car in a shopping center parking lot, the engine roared (even though she had her foot on the brake) and the vehicle jumped over the curb and struck small bushes and trees in the median between the stein mart and home dept parking lots causing damage to the front grill and driver side front fender. My wife was not injured luckily. Had this event occurred under normal driving conditions somebody could have been seriously injured and or killed depending upon the circumstances. I had a similiar instance about a year ago when the car surged forward while I was stopped at a intersection. My foot was on the brake and I got the car stopped. I continued to drive the car and did not experience any further problems. I thought it might have been a stuck accelerator linkage that cleared. I've since learned the newer vehicles are drive by wire controlled. Their is no direct throttle linkage from the gas pedal. The vehicle is currently at a Buick dealers body shop being repaired. . Their service manager stated they would read the computer codes and use a scan tool to determine what caused the accident. An accident report was recorded by the local police department.

Unable to open rear passenger door. Tried from both inside and outside, tried manually unlocking and using remote to unlock. Door will not open. Afraid to use back seat now in case of emergency.

Outside driver's chrome door handle pulls off when opening the door. Took it to a gm repair facility (dealer) who replaced it, but same problem returned with the new handle. Was told by an employee at a gm dealer that they are aware of the problem with the chrome door handle. Hazard: if a thief pulls on the handle while car is in a parking lot, or when car is stopped at a traffic light, the handle would come off and expose the inner workings of the lock, possibly allowing the door to be opened.
Lost power & control, collision with 5 other cars & airbags did not deploy. Collision occurred immediately after power loss & no recollection on my part until paramedics arrived & took me to emergency room. Car was total loss.
The contact owns a 2009 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that the tires were unable to keep the correct amount of air pressure and that the tpms warning lamp continued to flash each time the tires lost air pressure. The contact stated that the factory wheel wells associated with the tires were rusted and corroded and leaked continuously. The contact indicated that the coating was peeling and that the tires were replaced by a tire repair shop, but the failure recurred. The tpms warning lamp continued to illuminate after the four tires were replaced. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Updated 7/16/cn.

I rarely use my rear door, but both doors had the lock assembly go bad. This wouldn't allow me to get in or out of the car. My front drivers side door lock assembly failed as well. Total cost for the 3 doors to be repaired was almost 1000. 00.
Inside center pillar (column between front and rear) trims had gaps where trims didn't cover the opening. Took car to a gm repair facility (dealer) 4 times. They installed clips but still there is a gap on one.
Sometime between 1998 and 2008 the Buick line, and almost all other lines, enlarged the size of the columns supporting the roof, modified the front side windows to add a small triangle of material at the front of the windows, and raised the height of the side mirrors and raised the height of the "dash" above the instrument cluster. I am in excess of 6 ft tall and this had little impact on my field of vision. My wife is less than 5 ft and age is taking a toll on both of us and this has a severe impact on her field of vision, even with the use of booster pillows. The current models have the same design flaw, except for the Honda civic and the Ford fusion. I have personally "tested" this condition by locating myself at an intersection where several crashes, some fatal, and "scrooching" down as best I could to simulate a 5 ft person with the seat at its max height, and there is a critical loss of visibility, particularly to the right. There were three crashes, all involved seniors, that were in a collision because they proceeding, after stopping, to cross the intersection in front of oncoming traffic. I heartily support your proposal to develop some type of recommendations, or "rating", for vehicles that are the most appropriate for seniors. Thank you.
Sunroof drain system failed, causing the interior of the vehicle to flood. Initial damage was repaired under warranty. Problem has recurred, on 7/3/13 at 86,000 miles, causing flooding to the interior of the vehicle. Said problem is a danger to health and safety due to mold.
Horizontal exterior chrome door trims loose at the ends at time of purchase and have worsened. Took car in to gm repair facility (dealer) 3 times who replaced them, but condition always returned. Was told that if I brought it in again for replacement, it would happen again. Cannot have car washed by a facility that uses rotating brushes since the brushes would probably tear off the door trims and damage the exterior paint with them. Have to wash car by hand.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. The vehicle was purchased new with excessive scratches on the exterior paint. The scratches covered the entire body of the vehicle. The sales representative observed the defects during the new vehicle inspection. Immediately, the authorized dealer collision center inspected the vehicle and stated that the scratches were due to faulty paint workmanship. The manufacturer was notified of the defective exterior paint and refused to repair the vehicle. The contact was displeased to know that there was no remedy for the defect once it was reported to the dealer at the time of sale. The failure mileage was 456 and current mileage was 4,000.
