Tl the contact owns a 2009 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 mph, the vehicle loss power as a smoke odor was detected in the cabin of the vehicle. The contact exited the highway and went to a local auto store. While parked, he inspected the vehicle, opening the rear passenger door and found that the plastic burning odor was coming from the underneath the seat. The contact lifted the rear seat and discovered that the fuse box was extremely hot to touch. Upon opening the box smoke and a burnt fuse relay was seen. The contact stated that he purchased and replaced the burnt fuse. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence, where it was later towed from to the dealer thomas Chevrolet-Buick inc. (2128 s byron butler pkwy, perry, FL 32348) who informed the contact that no recall were under the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel relay kit needed to be replaced. That contact mentioned manufacturer communication number: 15-na051 (electrical system, seats, fuels system, gasoline) (NHTSA id number: 10108617) as a possible solution to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, a case was opened and the contact was instructed to take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000.
Car drains my battery and it messed up my alternator. I replaced both and once again my battery keeps being drained. I took it to the shop and the mechanic ran a diagnostic test and about 10 codes popped up saying electrical problem. Other models of this Buick has been recalled for the same electrical problem. Il drive my car and it will completely cut off on me and the check engine light comes on. Il find my paper work from the mechanic if needed. This has been happening for months now. It didnt happen just once. So I cant drive the car until its fixed.

D. Was not driving to the doctor's.
Crank no start. Back seat housing was pushing against fuse box in backseat chushion causing fuel relay to not work. Relay was damaged as a result. Fuel pump was also damage.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Buick Lucerne. The contact attempted to start the vehicle, it did not start. Was driving and vehicle started to stutter, hesitate , then total loss of steering brakes didn't work properly. We were on an over pass during rush hour traffic busy intersection. Finally after about 1 hr we made it to autozone limp mode all the way. Purchased coils x 3 , coil ignition module, spark plug wires, spark plugs, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor. Then find out it was only a freaking fuse under seat that was burnt and melting away. Not very happy. Gm should be held accountable for knowing about this and not offering to fix it.
My Buick has been constantly breaking down and every mechanic has told me the same problem. It is the fuel pump and the fuse box under the seat. I never thought that I would have any problems since buying this car in 2016. But, I have had numerous problems and all I see are recalls on my Buick. Everytime I call in to complain and ask about the recall its always something new and that you guys can't do anything. This was my first purchase for my 21st birthday and I never want a Buick ever again. If there is someone that could help me regarding my fuel pump and fuse box please contact me and maybe you could do better and send me the parts to fix my car. This is ridiculous and I hope someone could contact me right away.
I own a 2009 Buick Lucerne that I attempted to start the vehicle on random occassions. On another occasion the vehicle stalled on highway 49 in the middle of traffic. It fails to start, some relays are hot even when the car is off, fuel relay has been replace 4 times and it gets extra hot and will almost burn your hand, the fuse box is melted partly and has a burning smell. The fuel pump voltage was checked and is good. On the last try to crack now the driver door windo and door lock is not working. There is no corrison under the fuse box. Buick does not have a recall out on the fuse box or relay. The vehicle had to be towed 25 miles. This is a safety hazard. I have a disabled daughter who is transported in my car and I worry about the safety of this vehicle. Buick is aware of this issue with this particular car. The bucik forum and NHTSA websites both have complaints about this issue. The manufacture has been notified. It will take accidents, injury, or deaths for this issue to be resovled it seems. As Buick and dealers continue to sell these cars many peoples lives are I jeopardy. I have reviewed pages on complaints and again Buick is aware of these issues.
My 2009 Buick Lucerne wouldn't start. . Thought it was the fuel pump had it checked out. . The fuel pump was good so we check the relay fuse and it was burnt out. I put a new relay fuse in and drove around the block my check engine light went on. . So we rechecked the relay fuse and it was burnt out again. . There should be a recall on the relay and fuse box. This could start a fire. . I have 3 small children I need my car but at the same time I need it safe. . I looked online and about 10 or more people are having this same problem. . Please recall these parts. .
I am a widow living alone on a fixed income. I have less than 80,000 miles on my vehicle. Long story short. Vehicle wouldn't start - had it towed to shop - they put it on machine - showed fuel pump was out - put in a new relay, fuel pump, etc. Did not solve problem. Found later that fuel box, relay fried, partially melted area on fuse box . Fire hazard. Ending up paying over $1000 for repairs. Have been told repeatedly that this has been an issue with this type car and there have been no recalls. Also told that probably will happen again. I cannot afford this. Please help. There are hundreds of similar complaints. Why doesn't someone do something about this dangerous and expensive issue.
My altenator stopped working and after it was replaced my fuse box would not read nor would my car crank. So I had it towed to a Buick dealership where I thought all of my problems would be solved. They replace my fuse box with a used one because the box has been discontinued this was in April 2017 it is now may 2017 and I've had a diagnostic tes ran on it because my fans stopped working causing my nothstar motor to overheat. The diagnostic determined that fuse box is what's causing all of my problems. Every code led straight to that same fuse box. My vehichel was on and stationary when all of a sudden my power steering connector cracked and all of my fluids started to leak out from a result of overheating and the connectors being made of plastic and basically wearing from the heat.
Problems : a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the washer fluid heater, overheating the ground circuit board. May cause other electrical features malfunction, create an odor or cause smoke increasing the risk of fire. 2. Hwfs harness. Considerable melting has occurred around the hwfs fluid chamber. Possible for the heater washers module to ignite and a fire may occur. 3. On 3 occasions the key has locked out of the run position and caused loss of power, power-steering, and power breaking; increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. I have contacted Buick about this. They stated there are no recalls on my vehicle. Customer complaint number is 8-2700897169. General service number 1-866-608-8080. I drive as little as possible because of the factors. 1st recall # 08v441000 recall date 08/28/2008. Componet: electrical system on all 3 issues. 2. Recall date 06/24/2010 recall #10v240000. 3. Recall number is 14v355000 recall date 06/23/2014. Buick states these are not issues with my car but all these issues have occurred by me. These incidents for some reason these all happened while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, fixing to stop, or starting from a low rate of speed.
Veh while driving just cuts off for no reason, speed does not matter. If going fast enough you might be able to cost to the shoulder of the road however there is absolutely no warning it just cuts off. After waiting about 5 minutes you can restart the car but have no assurance that it will keep going. This has happened a total of three times. Once in heavy traffic, and twice when there was enough speed to get the car to the shoulder of the road. The first time was the camshaft sensor and had that replaced and the service man told me there was absolutely no warning for failure. The second and third time no warning but have not found out what the cause s of this problem was. I contacted Buick and there has been no recall for this problem. Got on a Buick forum and found that there are several instances of this happening to other Buick Lucerne's. It is very dangerous for this problem especially when you have not warning of sudden stops. Buick needs to look into this and pursue this with dilligence before there is a car pile up on a freeway. Thanks.
Buick Lucerne electrical problems - onstar suspected. I 'm not sure that this is or isn't a safety problem, but after complaining to Buick I was advised by them to file a claim(?) with you. About a month to 6 weeks after an in-town accident (10/22/16) that was repaired immaculately by the local gm dealer, the car sat in a park and fly lot for about 5 days while we had gone visiting out east. When we got back the car was dead as a stone. After a triple a call we got home and immediately got a new battery (12/20/16), even though I was surprised that it had gone dead because there was no warning (slow starting, etc). However, in the next 6 months or so, two more new ones went dead (2nd 1/3/17, 3rd 3/13/17) and were replace by the dealer at no charge. However, in the next year or so, not only did the onstar go dead, the brakes lights quit and was replaced, the cruise control quit, the stabiltrak quit, (and both were replaced). My insurance company - american family - informed me that the accident is not the cause of the problems. So finally I took it to another shop cas (complete auto service - austin) that does the city's police cars, and they ran a diagnostic on it and even though the onstar has quit working, by removing the fuse in it that 'seems' - after spending over $1300 and still not replacing the onstar for another $650, - to have solved the problem. At least so far.
After returning from a two hour trip I parked my car at home. The next day I tried to start my car and it would only turn over. A mechanic found the fuel pump defective, fuel pump relay burnt and the power panel burnt as well.
Power steering failure when driving through water. Was turning off main highway into shopping area and the power steering failed to work for a few minutes. Very scary feeling. Had to stop car and back-up to make my turn.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stalled with out warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 31126. Ss.
Vehicle is a 2006 Buick Lucerne cx with 40,000 miles. About 2 months ago it started to go dead without any warning. The first occurrence was Jan 15, 2014 with my wife driving. The next shutdown on Mar 4, 2014, occurred in rush hour traffic. There was an audible signal accompanied by a “service traction control” warning, followed immediately by a throttle control warning and complete engine shutdown. I was able to coast across 2 traffic lanes into a parking area with great difficulty while steering and braking without power assist. Tried to restart the engine but got “throttle disabled” message. After 2-4 minutes was able to restart with no warning light illuminated. The last shutdown was on March 10, 2014, on the interstate at 70 mph. I had disabled traction control earlier in hopes of avoiding another unexpected shutdown. After coasting off the interstate, I was able to restart normally after a few minutes. No warning lights appeared after the restart. Two gm dealers checked the car on Mar 11, 2014. The first was a Chevrolet dealer, and after some diagnostic work they sent me to a Buick dealer down the street. Both dealers said there were no error messages and they could not repair. They said when it happens again to bring it back in immediately for diagnosis. The 3 shutdowns have been on cold mornings, temps less than 40 degrees. I believe in all three cases the warning “watch for icy conditions” has appeared prior to failure. This is an extremely dangerous failure mode that leaves no tracks if there is an accident! my wife now refuses to drive the car, and I am very apprehensive about it.
The warning light came on and stated service stabilitrac and then went off. Two weeks later came on again, and went off. The car began to shake and vibrate as brakes were applied when stopping. About a month after that the traction control light came on and the car began applying the brakes at a speed of about 50 miles per hour and making a noise that was loud enough to hear as it sounded like the pressing of the brakes to the wheel hubs. My wife and daughter and I turned arouned arouned went back home and parked the car and drove my truck to visit other family members that day. Two weeks later I took the Buick 2006 Lucerne to have a gm certified mech put it on the diagnostic machine and the reported that nothing showed up as needing replaced.
While driving a highway speed,my 2008 Buick Lucerne showed a service stabilitrak light. This caused a loss of traction and I had to slowly bring the vehicle under control manually. This condition lasted a few seconds and then returned to normal. This has happened several times at highway speed up to the present date. I took the vehicle to my dealer(karp Buick). They were unable to replicate the problem. The condition still exists. It also sometimes shows a stabilitrak not ready light and causes the same loss of control. I understand the Buick lacrosse, the GMC acadia and the GMC sierra had similar problems.
This electrical problem began about the first of the year when the electric door locks started to cycle while driving. It has since migrated to turning off the cruise control and causing the headlights to flash off and on. The remote start will start the car but will shut down the motor after a few seconds. These problems continue during every operation. I have been informed by the dealer that it is a p140 code and will take about 3 to 4 hours to diagnose where the problem at $80. 00 per hr. Plus repair.
Braking system came on during dry conditions without applying the brakes. This happened four times within the same month. Car veered to the right twice and the next time the front of the car nose-dived. Suspect that the stability control is causing the problem. No codes show up under diagnostics at the dealership. Dealership cannot do anything else at this time. Afraid to drive this car because of the conditions.
The contact owns a 2009 Buick Lucerne. When routine maintenance was performed on the vehicle, the contact heard a noise on the front drivers side while driving 10 mph and making a left turn over a bump in the road. The vehicle was examined at an authorized dealer who tightened the bolts in the suspension. The failure continued to recur and both front end struts were replaced by an authorized dealer. The failure continued to occur and an authorized dealer replaced the lower control arm bushings. The failure continued to recur and an authorized dealer replaced the brake master cylinder, the steering control module and the anti lock brake control module. When the failure recurred, the manufacturer sent an engineer to examine the vehicle. The engineer informed the contact that he believes the failure involves the stabilitrak stability control which was a normal occurrence with his year, make and model vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 1,700 and the current mileage was 4,200.
I purchased a new 2006 Buick Lucerne cxl in 2006. I have numerous times experienced acceleration in my vehicle. I have taken it to a Buick dealer and they drove it and say they didn't notice it. I have also talked to a GMC dealer in the last several years and asked it anyone else has had a vehicle that just speeds up on it's own. I am from a very small town in missouri and 3 other people have purchased the same Buick Lucerne as mine and one of them says he thinks his vehicle may have sped up before, but he thinks he may have let the cruise control on. The first time this vehicle did this to me was on my way to the lake of the ozarks. I come from a small town there is really no where that I can use the cruise control except on larger trips. We have a lot of hills and curves. Going to the lake of the ozarks the speed limit is 70. I used the cruise control. I got behind a trailer that was going very slow and traffic was a little busy, so I applied the brakes and when traffic was clear I passed the trailer. I was going to resume the cruise control, but before I even touched the button, my car took off and I was at 93 miles an hour and I hit the brake and it would not stop. I then tapped the brakes several times quickly and it started to slow down. When I got the speed down to 55, I then applied my foot back to the gas pedal and when I did, the gas pedal was not down or stuck, but I could feel a little something in it. This is something you do not feel in it all the time. I tried to figure out what happened and told my husband about it and he said you must has hit something wrong. I said no I'm telling you it did it on it's own. I go to work at 4:00 am in the morning. Where I live there is a lot of deer, so I do not drive fast for about 3 miles to work. One morning I was driving on a straight stretch and when I came to about the top of a little hill my car again did the same thing. It just takes off and it catches you off guard.
