I have experienced an issue that seems to be of concern ( reviewed complaints filed for the same issue) for safety. My passenger side back door failed to unlock both from the inside and outside. If I were in an accident and had passengers in the back seat, this could be life threatening. I cannot image that there has not been a recall for such a serious issue. After talking to gm, they will not take any action until notified by NHTSA-odl. What does it take for this issue to be addressed? gm.
The Buick ws in my garage which is attached to the house, before going to bed I always open the door to the garage to be sure the garage door is down and the flag is inside. Did so that night and all was normal. The next morning when I opened the door to the garage to put the big door up and the flag out the garage was very warm. No other indication of a problem, assumed he furnace had acted up. We took the car to have breakfast did notice the hood was very warm as if the car had been running (I do not have a sense of smell so did not smell an exhaust) fuel was very low ( I wondered if there was enough to get to a service station) filled he car had breakfast then came home not apparent problems. Later that morning my wife use the car to go to an appointment when it started to miss, she pulled off the road and called aaa who towed the car to the nearest Buick dealer. The car is there now, they had no yet determined the problem.
I was getting back into my car and went to open the driver's side door, when the door handle mechanism pulled out of the door. I was shocked. . . . Never experience this in 41years of driving.
Vehicle was left standing in drive by mistake. It proceeded without a driver and crashed into a tree.
Dash cluster is very hard to read during daylight hours unless backlit by light sensor on the dash. During the day the dash cluster is almost impossible to see and read with or without sun glasses. I have to take my eyes off of the road for more than 2 seconds to see my speed, tack, gas gauge or other accessories, which takes my concentration away from driving and could result in a serious accident. I have had the car back to the dealer suss pontiac twice. First time they replaced the entire cluster. The second time was for the same reason. The dash cluster cannot be read during daylight hours. The second time back I was told by the dealer and Buick there was nothing they could do about it, that I would have to put up with this problem. The dealer admitted that others have also complained of this exact same problem. If I cover the light sensor on top of the dash, then the night-time lights will come on and I can see, but this dims the radio so that it can't be read. Covering the light sensor is not a solution to this problem. Buick needs to make the face of the dash cluster any other color than dark blue or back light it. The service request number with Buick was 71-849515366.
