1 Suspension problem of the 2011 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 02/21/2024

Several malfunction indicator lights in dash appeared suddenly. Car would not start after shutting off. Finally started and drove to repair shop. Diagnosed as faulty ride height sensor. Shop searched for part at several dealers and online and found the part was discontinued in 2021. I contacted Buick and was offered $1500 off on a new gm car. I have not received any suggestions on how to repair the car or remove malfunction indicator lights which I specifically asked for. The repair shop is waiting for me to find the part and I have not been able to find one. Dealers have no answer and neither does Buick. The repair shop says it will start if sensor is unplugged but suspension will not work and dash will still have malfunction indicator lights. It is my opinion to operate under these conditions, it would definitely be hazardous.

6 Suspension problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 03/20/2014

Driving westbound on illinois rt-7 towards lockport, illinois when vehicle went out of control and into oncoming lane nearly causing a head-on collision. Upon inspection, it was determined that the front struts rusted through at the mounting flanges whereby the front suspension collapsed falling down on the left front tire destroying the new michelin tire throwing the car out of control and into the oncoming lane. The car is garage kept with little to no rust anywhere but on the struts. General motors refused to cover the repairs as the car was out of warrantee! I have owned other cars for thirty years with a lot more miles and never had such a catastrophic failure of a suspension system. Even old pick-up trucks last a lot longer. This defect is sure to cause many accidents and possible fatalities across the country. Pictures are available showing the defective struts.

7 Suspension problem of the 2007 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

When bringing the car in for grinding brakes, my mechanic informed me that my rack and pinion was leaking and my rear struts were broken and leaking. (this was later confirmed with a Buick dealership). I was informed that my car would not be able to pass my yearly inspection without the rack and pinion repair. I was also informed that the repair would be quite costly. I was stunned since I have had nothing but complaints and repairs with this car which I am still paying for, the last past two and a half years respectively. I only have the car for four years. I feel the car is too young to have so many issues especially something as serious as a rack and pinion repair needed. This is a safety issue. I cannot drive the car like this except locally and I have to watch the power steering fluid which I have been doing. I also cannot drive it now since my inspection is expired. I do not have the money to pay for this right now and I have had exhaustive issues with this car. I approached Buick and they are not receptive. The car is no longer in warranty.

8 Suspension problem of the 2008 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

I was stopped with engine running and air conditioner fan on high. I turned the wipers on to clean windshield. Immediately I was overcome with extreme burning in my eyes I could not open them. I reached for door handle and got out. I was in a panic, having no idea what happened. I asked 2 people for help, the second person came to my car and we searched car for something burning and found nothing. I was afraid to get back into my car. I have never experienced a burning in my eyes as this. I felt helpless because no one witnessed this freak incident. Finally I used wet paper towels and covered all the ac vents and drove home in fear that it was going to happen again. There is no doubt what so ever if I was driving when this happened I would of crashed. I could not see. When tubing broke the fluid landed on a hot engine paet and the water evaporated and the methanol vapors came through the ac vents directly into my face. The Buick dealer didnt mention or discuss this plastic tubing be replaced. He just put a piece of rubber to hold the ends of broken plastic tubing. Im very uncomfortable using wipers now because as I mentioned if it were to happen while driving I might as wellbe blind. I want to know if the tubing is not suppose to ever break and more so, why did it come through the ac vents that was on high. ?.

9 Suspension problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 01/04/2013

The warning light came on and stated service stabilitrac and then went off. Two weeks later came on again, and went off. The car began to shake and vibrate as brakes were applied when stopping. About a month after that the traction control light came on and the car began applying the brakes at a speed of about 50 miles per hour and making a noise that was loud enough to hear as it sounded like the pressing of the brakes to the wheel hubs. My wife and daughter and I turned arouned arouned went back home and parked the car and drove my truck to visit other family members that day. Two weeks later I took the Buick 2006 Lucerne to have a gm certified mech put it on the diagnostic machine and the reported that nothing showed up as needing replaced.

10 Suspension problem of the 2007 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 03/14/2012

Been having a clunk/bump type sound in the steering when the car is sitting still or at low speed, had a local dealer look at it a year ago and they found nothing, in addition too we are finding drops of oil in our driveway. We have had several people look at it, with no luck at finding the leak. Recently the whole front end has been shaking, with several folks checking, including the local dealer who yesterday told me they no longer work on gm products. I looked online and found that the 2006 models had the same problems, so I talked to the a dealer and he said there is nothing they could do since there were no service bulletins or recalls for these problems for 2007. Then I found your site and found there were several other people who have had the same problem. I told Buick this and they said there was nothing they could do that is was only the 2006 models with this problem. I told them there was way to much of a coincident that all these people are having the same problem for it to only be the year before. We are smelling burning oil and driveway full of oil just waiting to get into the local lake, not to mention the recall said it could cause a fire. Check service bulletin # 273064 action # 10032192 report date Mar 01, 2012 recall # 06v105000 service bulletin # 06v105000 (our vehicle is a v8) from your site: NHTSA # 10022433 & 10032192 & 1020815 odi # 101483409 & 10460626.

12 Suspension problem of the 2008 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 08/11/2011

In August of 2011 I purchased what was supposed to be a certified preowned Buick superior Buick (owned by hendrick automotive group, now re-named hendrick Buick GMC Cadillac, it is in kansas city mo off of state line), . I had numerous problems that. I tried to get fixed under warranty(suspension, thermostat, air bags, steering etc. ) or good faith(only brakes) just to name a few, and tried to get a refund under my warranty or different car within the first 72 hours/150 miles of resigning my contract and was denied . I made numerous trips to the dealership to get these problems serviced and was told everytime that nothing was wrong, they found debri here a screw there, tightened this, blamed it on this etc. They never fixed or replaced anything but a water pump and a couple of electrical bulbs(the same ones). After at least 5 attempts to get it fixed( per laws set forth) I r had a couple of face to face meetings with the g. M. /part owner louis faller. During these meetings he tells me everything from you got a lemon, that he believed the car was wrecked prior, to that he fired a couple of employees for putting bad cars on his lot and not fixing them properly under warranty, amongst other things. So after no luck with a refund I began to get @nd opinions which uncovered everything from prior damage to several things wrong with the suspension in late 2012 etc. So in late 2013 after all the things progressed to really bad and I got my x-mas bonus I began fixing it and reached out to hendrick corporate. They lied to me and said they would give me at least the money for fixing what I already fixed and that I had to get rest from dealership. They later took it back cause I wasn't signing over no rights because I still had several thousand in damages. So I reached out g. M. Customer service and executive branches. They were like automated puppets. Please refer to attachments.
