: the contact stated the vehicle stalled at various speeds. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop where the starter, timing belt, and electronic computer relay was replaced. Afterwards, the problem persisted and the vehicle was seen by a dealer. A NHTSA recall, # 96v116000 concerning the fuel system was completed by the dealer however, the stalling issue remained. The vehicle was taken back to the independent repair shop for further inspection of the fuel pump assembly. Upon investigation of the engine compartment, while the engine was started, a backfire occurred and damaged the engine. The independent mechanic attributed the damage to the recall repair. Updated 05/30/06 4 fuel pumps repaired in the last 6 months and still there is a short in the air condition after fixing the recalls on the vehicle. In addition, checked brakes due to noise and increased stopping distance. Found rear pads with uneven wear, and rear rotors flaking.

Received recall notice for 99 Buick concerning injector regulator. Had to replace entire engine due to the problem. The rupture of the intake mainfold leak caused fuel and water mixture, the water on the top pistons caused the engine to lock, then the starter ceased and burned out.

Car failed to start properly and dealer indicated the "fuel pressure regulator is leaking". The fuel pressure regulator was replaced and the problem solved, but I was charged for the service. A recall had been placed on the same car (Buick Park Avenue) model for factor replacement of the fuel pressure regulator for other cars bought the same year (2000). Was told I must file a complaint if I expected to have the service paid by a recall.

The morning of December 13th, 2003, my father (james) started his 1999 Buick Park Avenue in the garage. Upon turning the key, he heard an explosion. He opened the hood to find the engine compartment engulfed in flames. He then pushed the car out of the garage and called 911. The police and fire department came and put out the fire. One of the firemen, who works on cars, told us that he had worked on 2 other cars that experienced the same thing. Colin hames.
Fuel pressure regulator:
the fuel pressure regulator went out on my 1998 Buick Park Avenue 3800 v6 and I had it replaced on 8-19-03 at a cost of $142. 79. It has come to my attention that Buick has now issued a recall on the Buick Park Avenue (NHTSA campaign #03v473000) for fuel pressure regulators and Buick has informed me that my Park Avenue is not part of this recall. I believe that my car is involved with this problem since I have had the exact problem that Buick is now involved in. I believe that if my car is involved that Buick should be held responsible for my repair and the cost that I have incurred. I have documents to support the fact that the part was replaced and I paid for the repair.
