The consumer had a rental vehicle. When she placed the vehicle in park, the door(s) automatically unlocked and an unknown assailant pulled the consumer from the vehicle and severely beat her causing permanent damage. The consumer did not know the doors would automatically unlock.
The rear door child safety locks have been removed on the 2003 model making it possible for a child as young as four years old who is restrained in a child seat to manualy unlock the rear door, pull the door handle and open the door. These door locks were standard on the Regal prior to the 2003 model. Dt.
