Noticed a very strong smell of gasoline in my garage. Inspection showed a small stain on the garage floor and a slow drip. Further inspection revealed a leak in the vicinity of the connection between the gas filler hose and the gas tank. The drip will cease when the tank is below half full.

There is an open safety recall on this make and model #06230a due to crack/leak that develops in the fuel tank. I purchased this vehicle in April 2015 and in June it developed a strong odor of fuel vapors. My mechanic confirmed that there is a crack/leak in the fuel tank. I called Buick for assistance to replace the tank and they opened case #71-1490527942. They instructed me to take it to the dealership for verification of the crack. That was completed on 7/16/15. Now Buick is refusing to provide assistance for the replacement of the tank. My vehicle only has 79,688 miles. The special coverage was extended for 150,000 miles or 10 years. They informed me that the special coverage expired in 2013 and that the recall doesn't cover my VIN, although this is clearly the same make and model with the same issue. I can't help but wonder how many other owners of this vehicle are in the same hazardous situation? Buick admits it may be a life-threatening hazard and advises that the tank should be replaced immediately, but they refuse to accept responsibility for this manufacturing defect. Once again, gm exhibits depraved indifference to their customers' lives. I would appreciate a follow up from NHTSA.

Bought my Rendezvous a few months ago and have had problems. My side air bags deployed with the previous owner for unknown reasons causing him injury to his ribs. They were never replaced by manufacturer. When I first got my car I filled up the tank. Bad idea! I came out the next morning and smelled a strong odor of gas and was missing a quarter tank. My boyfriend looked underneath and said it was leaking between the fill tube and the actual tank. My mechanic said there is no way to patch this and the only way to fix it would be to replace the whole thing. Approximately costing $1000. He also said changes are this will be reoccurring because it's a common problem with this make/model. So now I only put a half tank in my gas tank but I've noticed a smell of gas inside and outside of the vehicle. When I first bought my car the next day my car wouldn't start. I had a dead battery. My interior lights never turned off. Again, to repair this electrical problem would have been expensive. I ended up taking the sensor out, so now I have no inside lights at all.

Noticed a strange smell and the check engine light had come on. Took the vehicle to my certified mechanic (non dealer) and was informed the fuel tank inlet check valve was the reason for both, and that it had been the cause of a recall. Then when I took it back to another dealer I was charged $40 to have it looked at. In 2008 another recall was issued on the gas tank. I am requesting that I receive written documentation from gm that my vehicle's gas tank is included in the recall and that a dealer must replace it at not cost to me.

On 12/04/2007 a recall was issued for replacement of the tank on the Buick Rendezvous, 2002 on only certain vehicles. When I called gm they said my vehicle was not covered under the recall, as they have done with numerous other owners who have to bear the cost of from $1,000. 00 to $1,400. 00 my estimate to replace the tank. First why isn't my vehicle part of the recall and second who decides what vehicles are eligible. This default is prevalent in all 2002 Rendezvous and there should be no time limit restriction on failure of the fuel tank. This is a major fire safety hazard and needs to be corrected by gm. I never received the notice of the defect so I could have been driving the vehicle and it could have caught fire and who know what would have happened. A recall notice should be issued on all 2002 Rendezvous before someone is seriously injured or their house burns down from the fumes be ignited by an ignition source where they park the vehicle. ## VIN failed ##.

Fuel tank recall # 07v349000 I took my car to my service center to check out fuel leak a fracture in tank housing was found, I call Buick to report findings over 9 months and many phone calls nothing was done they finely said my VIN was not one of the ones with that problems and said I should have tank replaced at my expense if it is the same defect they should pay for it I would like the car fixed by Buick at their expense if u have a recall then honor it no pick and choose I would like to hear from someone if Buick doesn't want to repair my vehicle then they should buy it for the retail price or give me another vehicle of equal value.

Gm and dealer have determined existing recall for this condition does not apply to my vehicle, even though the symptoms I'm experienced are exactly those detailed in the recall, and my VIN falls within the applicable range provided for the recall. No notice from gm on recall dated 08/08/2007 fuel tank defect. Fuel leaking from fuel tank at this specific location. Dealers will not repair this defect. I am the orig. Owner.

There has been a leak from the fuel tank since 2006 without any accident to the vehicle and am having difficulty finding one to replace it. One car parts attendant informed me of the recall on this problem.
