2 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2006 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 09/05/2011

This vehicle is a joke. I've had the ball joints worked on, gear shift (suddenly wouldn't change gears anymore), the transmission pump needs replacing, and when I drive, specifically if I turn or have to go over a speed hump, or over a small dip, there's a loud pop and lots of creaking even though the tire rod, ball joints and wheel bearings were replaced. After they were replaced, everything was quiet. About a year later, I'm hearing noises again. I've just grown accustomed to the fact that my car is loud. I know not to buy another Buick.

3 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 06/22/2010

I purchased a 2005 Buick Rendezvous in Feb 2006, with around 12,700 miles on it. I also purchased the extended warranty on it (thank god) as I've had several issues go wrong with it. Most recently, last Friday, I brought my vehicle in for a supposed routine oil change (I purchased the life-time oil changes on this vehicle), so every 3 month's I bring it into the dealer; after I made my appt. On the phone, the very next day, my back window, behind the driver stopped functioning (all power windows); I also had, what I believed to be oil sitting on my garage floor. I had a crankshaft seal replaced in July, so I knew I shouldn't be seeing oil on my floor. By the time I brought it in on Friday, I had a list of things I wanted them to know about, especially an awful whining, squealing noise every time I made a corner. So, they decided with all of these things to be done, and checked, they would give me a loaner car and keep my Buick. Yesterday, 9/21/2010 I get a call from the dealer telling me that there is about $7,000 worth of work to be done!! my power steering pump was shot, the electrical needed to be replaced in that window, and the loud, obnoxious noise I was hearing while turning was the differential, gone, shot! my vehicle only has 40,000 miles on it!! I used to have all the faith in Buicks; my father used to trust them 100%, as I did, but now? I'm thinking they should stick to just cars! my Buick century rocked! I loved it, but these awd SUV's seem to be over their heads!.

4 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2006 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 03/08/2010

I have a 2006 Buick Rendezvous that I guess pressure builds up in power steering pump and somehow blows powersteering fluid all over belts, alternator and engine and compartment under hood this makes belts squeal and some come all out from under hood. This has happened to me twice since I bought the Buick in late November 2009. I have read that other people on car forum said that they are also having same problems with there Rendezvous. I have the 3. 5 engine in mine and wanted to complain and see if any other complaints have been recalled on this. I see that pontiac has problems with the power steering pump also and they have had a recall on them recently. So just wanted to pass on the information and problems that I am having I don't know what to do with this problem. I have to keep adding the fluid because it keeps blowing it all over my motor and compartment area. I hope that this does not cause my vehicle to have an accident or catch fire.

5 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2003 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 11/10/2005

2003 Buick Rendezvous left front hub and bearing assembly was replaced at 36606 miles. Power steering pump replaced at 39933 miles. A leak was coming from the main seal on the power steering pump therefore it needed to be replaced. In 4/05 one of the front tire hubs was defective causing a loud noise. On 11/10/05 the consumer had to take the Buick in for a variety of reasons. Again the consumer was hearing a noise because both front tire hubs needed to be replaced. Due to the fact that one was replaced in 4/05, it would be covered under the parts warranty. The consumer incur the cost of replacing one hub. The consumer contacted other local general motor dealers to find out if they had seen similar repairs with this vehicle. The consumes was told that there have been a lot of Buick Rendezvous and pontiac aztec's coming in for repair and needing front and rear tire hubs replaced. The consumer was told that gm was was going to change hub manufacturer to alleviate the problem.

6 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2003 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 04/09/2005

The contact stated in April 2004,she heard a loud roaring noise as vehicle accelerated. It seemed to be louder as she turned the steering wheel to either the left or right. The dealership replaced one of the front tire hubs under warranty. She was not sure if it was the left or the right. Just recently she heard the same noise, and was told that both front tire hubs needed to be replaced. Also, the power steering pump was replaced in July 2005. After having the power steering pump replaced she was hearing the same noise . The dealership told her the pump they had originally put on was bad, and they were going to replace it. Then, she was told they would have to replace it again because the pump was leaking fluid.
