2 Radiator problem of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

We found out that we had a problem with my wife's vehicle. Initially, the vehicle was stationary. I took it to get an oil change and was asked to come into the shop to be shown that the antifreeze was like yogurt in the reservoir. We were told that we needed a coolant flush. This led to being told that we needed a new radiator; bypass hose; and last but not least, head gasket job amounting to approximately 1600. 00. We were told that there was no open recall but yet there was litigation going on regarding dex-cool antifreeze and that it was causing all of the problems that were and are having with this vehicle.

4 Radiator problem of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 01/19/2012

I took my car to the local gas station about 3 minutes from my house. I went in came back and out and before I was even halfway home my car started to overheat. I hadn't even driven half a mile. The thermostat and the coolant temperature sensor have been replaced and the radiator flushed. There was all sorts of brown gunk in the line but the issue still is not resolved. The heat only works occasionally after this and the car still will run hot and then drop back down to a normal temperature all within 2 minutes. No one is sure of what is going on with it. The cause cannot be found at this point.

5 Radiator problem of the 2002 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 01/20/2010

I purchased 2002 Rendezvous in 2002. It began in the second year I could not believe that I would be replacing the radiator and condenser assembly. Each year following I was shelling out major bucks in repairs. Each year there was something wrong with either the heat or the air conditioner. From replacing sensors, thermostat to water pumps. Each year I have had to replace the brakes and rotors and had the hub bearing replaced once. In 2009 I began to have problems with the engine and electrical. I had the head gaskets replaced and once again problems with heat and replaced the blower motor resistor. In December of 2009 the driver side window no longer works. Then in January 2010 despite my efforts in taking very good care of my car with regular scheduled maintenance, the engine took a finial dump. The cam shaft broke inside the engine that pumps the oil without any warning. I was left stranded and carless. I received a recall notice regarding the hub bearings but did not qualify because of the mileage. I was never notified on the recall for the dex coolant and when I found out it was too late. In my recent research I found that there was a recall for the head gaskets that closed in April of 2009, I was never notified. I did receive a recall for the fuel fill tube which is good for 10 years or 150,000 miles and I do qualify, however, I dont have an engine! I called Buick consumer relations 1-800-521-7300, and they said the only recall they have is for the lift gate latch. I feel that gm should reopen the recalls for the dex coolant, hub bearings and the head gaskets. I am looking for some recourse because in no way should the cam shaft broken.

8 Radiator problem of the 2002 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 02/01/2008

We have an 2002 Buick Rendezvous awd. Just recently our car starting to act up while driving. It was making a whining noise and acting as if it was in neutral while stopping. We found out that the transmission, intake manifold, wheel bearing, radiator, a/c condenser, rims are bad making our tires lose air, and head gasket all need replaced. We also were told that the power steering had a leak and was causing a noise. We are looking at having to pay over 5 thousand dollars to fix everything. After looking on the internet, we have seen millions of complaints for all these things breaking in the 2002 model. Something needs done about this. I will do whatever it takes to get help from gm to fix these damaged cars. These should all be recalled.

9 Radiator problem of the 2003 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 02/15/2007

2003 Buick Rendezvous @ 59000 miles needs rear head gasket replaced. First noticed an overheated condition. Took it to a monroe shop and was told radiator cap was bad. Then it happened again and took it to gm dealership 2-02-07. Told that it held pressure and no leaks. Found orange snow under car 2-14-07. Took it back to dealer and told it is leaking at rear head gasket. Cost for replacement is $1500. Called Buick customer service. They are helping. Found that canadians are suing gm for this problem. The gasket material breaks down when dex-cool is used. This problem causes coolant leak. Engine seizure, gelled oil and possible replacement of engine can be possible results. I would hate to be driving down the road when the engine seized up. Could be an accident waiting to happen. Gm called the dealership and will cover some of the cost of the repair and I will pay a deductible amount. I am taking it in to be fixed 2-16-07.
