Car keeps stalling and the service power steering warning comes on the dash as well as the service air bag. Then the car speed drops to around 20 mph and won’t go any faster and then when you stop at a stop sign or something the car acts like it doesn’t want to go.

Engine is known for bad piston rings and a poor emission ventilation system causing extreme engine pressure, blowback, and oil consumption. Engine stalled due to no oil in it. No oil warning light appeared. Almost ran over two pedestrians as my car would not brake quickly enough as there was no power to any of the systems. And now I have to pay well over $6,000 to repair it? I just had my oil changed 5 days ago.

Vehicle hesitating when attempting to accelerate. No power or minimal momentum when pressing on gas pedal. Transmission control module would randomly drop out and loose communication at the same time the body control module thought the vehicle was in park. It would lock and unlock the doors multiple times and the car would jerk uncontrollably. Extremely unsafe while mobile. Issue first occurred randomly summer of 2023 and has progressively gotten worse. Now it occurs at least once every 2 weeks.
Newly purchased delivery of 2014 Buick Verano. From auto deal makers in chantilly, va. Not even 5 miles driven, car was hesitant at 20mph, felt like it was going to stall out at 40mph, my left upper lip started tingling, my kids felt sick as we all experienced a heavy taste & smell of burnt oil in the cabin of the car. Two hours later my kids & I still could not get the taste of burnt oil off our tongues and back of our throats even after eating. Contacted gm & chevy although they are fully aware of the defect they refuse to accept responsibility. The tingling has now reached my chin as though my children and I have been affected by some form of toxic chemical poisoning. This was the first time I ever drove my newly purchased vehicle, and have been poisoned myself & my kids by the toxic fumes the car is emitting. Total recalls should be done, and full compensation to consumers. Gm & chevy are fully aware of the defects and should be held responsible and accountable for the dangerously hazardous fumes that they are knowingly allowing unsuspecting consumers to become victims of their neglect and found guilty of all laws created to protect consumers, and the environment for these defective vehicles and found guilty pursuant to any and all lemon laws pertaining to aforementioned toxic chemical exposure. All of these makes/models that have similar issues should be recalled immediately for the safety and health of the consumers, and the environment.
Vehicle is consuming oil at an excessive rate (with still less than 70000 miles on the odometer) and I have had to keep a close watch on the levels. It is burning a quart right now about every 1400 miles and the problem is only likely to get worse with time. This could cause the engine to fail or catch fire while operating the vehicle, which is quite dangerous, especially at interstate speeds or on mountain roads. Buick has not issued a recall, and yet there is a service bulletin dating from 2016 (bulletin no. : 13-06-01-003h). I have also read many complaints from other Verano owners about this problem. An engine is one of the most expensive parts of any vehicle, and if Buick will not voluntarily recall this model year to make the needed repairs, the ntsb ought to take a hand in getting a recall of affected vehicles. I don't want to risk my life on the road if this engine fails while the vehicle is in operation.

On 2 separate occasions, I have gone through 4 quarts of oil in 2000 miles. No leaks as verified by mechanic. Just excessive burn. The check oil light does not come on to warn you and says I still have 50% oil life but almost bone dry.

I have included here copies of correspondence between myself and general motors relating to an issue with my 2014 Buick Verano. As stated in the emails, after some online research, I found that there was actually a class action lawsuit pending in the court with regard to the issue I was having. I did reach out to the attorneys office handling the class action suit and received an auto-reply that they received my message, but nothing further. What I find very disturbing is that in one google search, I found multiple articles and forums as well as two class action lawsuits that address the very issue of excessive oil consumption and general motors has not done anything to address this issue with vehicle owners. At the very least, a TSB should have been issued to make owners aware of this issue so they could address it properly. There continues to be many posts by people still experiencing this problem which is unacceptable. The issue has caused unnecessary wear and tear on my car and many costly repairs. My car continues to have issues that may have been caused by the initial pvc problem.
My Buick Verano keeps running out of oil despite consistent oil changes. It ran out of oil, 3000 miles before my next oil change was due. There are many reports online of other owners of the same vehicle having the same issue. Recently, my car cut off in the middle of the street without any warning due to no oil in the engine. The low oil warning light never came on. This is the second time that this has occurred. The first time the mechanic just said it was low on oil. Now my car will not restart. Again my next oil change was not due for another 3000 miles.
Oil consumption- burning through 2 qts of oil every 2000 miles. No warning lights coming on. Last oil change my car had no oil in it.
The contact owns a 2013 Buick Verano. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was a knocking sound coming from the engine. Upon inspection, it was the discovered that the engine oil level was extremely low, although the oil had recently been changed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that there was an unknown TSB to address the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Car has had excessive oil consumption since start. Easily consuming 1-2 quarts of oil on monthly basis. Had timing chains replaced at 75000 miles. Car suddenly stopped without warning 1/16/23 and completely shut off while driving. Now, at 170000 miles the engine is blown, due to chains loosening, and valves getting bent and scattered.
2. 4l lea engine is burning an excessive ammount of oil. Roughly 2l of oil has been burnt within a week. Upon contacting a dealer about the issue, the issue is known and has been recalled for other gm makes of the same year with the same engine model. The engine will start knocking and then stop running, no matter if the vehicle is driving.
Technical service bulletin #13-06-01-003h (TSB 003h) in regards to gm’s 2. 4l engines & excessive oil consumption. (https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2016/mc-10116880-9999. Pdf) this release not only concedes a persistent issue found in at least six gm models, but more importantly fails to acknowledge the serious and fatal risks as a result of the oil consumption defect. As a direct result of gm's known defect, I was left in a dangerous situation. I crossed a divided residential street, engine stalled and the vehicle turned off, stranded in the middle. It is not unreasonable to imagine other similar situations occurring, leaving people directly susceptible to serious injury or death. Here, the dipstick was completely dry. It took two quarts before any oil appeared on the dipstick. The oil light did not illuminate and I was approximately 1500 miles from my next scheduled oil service. The diagnosis: pistons excessively worn from lack of oil, engine failure. My situation is not unique. . Read more...
I purchased this used vehicle in March 2022 $8500 cash. I have had problems with oil consumption since I purchased. The car stalls and turns off when the oil is low. I am literally putting a quart of oil in the car every 40-50 miles. I have 6 children to get to school and I also work. At this time I can't afford another vehicle so I'm hoping that others come forth so this car can be recalled or fixed. Life is hard enough.

The car stalls in traffic and the air conditioning will stop working and remote start doesn't work although I have paid for it to be fixed. You can just be driving along the car will stop and not start. It has stalled 6 times in mid traffic putting my life and my children's life in danger we almost was hit by other cars on the highway because the car stopped suddenly. I had the car towed to the shortline Buick GMC 1301 s havana st. Aurora, CO. 80012 because of this and they charged me $1000 and only change filters did not fix the car or the remote start. This on or around October 13, 2020.
My car has started to burn oil quickly in the past and I was bringing my car to get oil changes more frequently than the sticker was saying at the dealership. Recently my car showed no oil on the dipstick after my car stopped running. 2 quarts of oil was added and the oil only showed at the tip of the dipstick. My engine was tapping a few weeks prior to my car no longer running. I brought the car to the dealership and they informed me that there was not a recall on my vehicle, but upon checking there was a recall in 2016 for this exact matter. My car is still not running and has been down since October 22, 2021. The dealership is stating that they cannot fix my car because there is not an open recall, but this recall was in 2016 and I was never made aware of the recall nor was I said any correspondences about this recall.
My car started burning an excessive amount of oil this caused my car to die with no engine warning while driving. My mechanic found it to be completely out of oil. The car only has 67000 miles on it and now I have to constantly put oil in the car. It does not leak it just burns oil. I just drove 400 miles and when I got to my destination my car was completely out of oil again. My motor is not going to last if this keeps happening.
2013 Buick Verano engine ceased after excessive oil consumption (which was not indicated by the oil light). Multiple lawsuits have been filed for cars with the same engine, but my specific car has not been included - and gm shut down my car-specific lawsuits due to "design" flaws that they don't take credit for. No warning signs, and my car stopped in the middle of the road, putting my safety at risk. Oil change notification did not work, and oil light did not come on at all. In addition, a "service passenger airbag" light comes on whenever anyone sits in the passenger seat (I have seen recalls regarding this as well, but are not specific to my car). Very disappointed.
Replaced many components and still has cylinder misfire . Replaced coils . Spark plugs. Vvt solenoids . Pigtails for vvt and still jerks, stalls, and radio doesn't work.
The contact owns a 2013 Buick Verano. The contact stated that while driving at 60-65 mph, the vehicle lost all power with no warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after a minutes. The vehicle was not taken an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnose or repairs. The contact stated that prior to the failure the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic due to the fact that there was abnormal noise coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that she was informed that the camshaft sensor, crank shaft sensor, timing cover set, timing chain kit, and valve cover gasket needed replacement. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired along with an oil change was completed. The contact stated that the vehicle has lost power several times while driving. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that she researched failure online and discovered that this was an issue with the 2013 Buick Verano. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
Car engine started making noise in front right side. Had oil changed 2000 miles prior and there was no oil when checked. Mechanic said the motors are known to have the timing belt go out and the pistons. There are recalls for this issue, however my VIN number doesn't come up!! have had the car 2 months!!!! pretty pissed off!.
The contact owns a 2012 Buick Verano . The contact stated there was an abnormal odor of fuel entering through the vents. While driving, there was an abnormal very loud knocking noise and the idling was off. There was oil or fuel leaking from the injection system. The tpms warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
My transmission is slipping. I am having so many problems since I purchased this car. Electrical, lights, the air system.
The system air bag notices keeps coming in the car, when you put your seat beat on it goes away. Also the oil button doesn't come on , the car constantly shakes and the check engine like keeps coming on after even being repaired. I needed a fuel pump and that's been fixed but the problem is happening again.
First, my car would hesitate when going up my driveway and I had to give it the gas so it wouldn't stop on me. Then, my car would stop on me as I was driving at slow speeds or even stopped at red lights. I almost got hit several times from behind due to this. Then, I noticed that when my oil was at 50% I would have to add oil and it would fix the issue until my oil level got low again. I went from changing my oil every 5,000 miles as told by the sales person to every 3,000 miles to what seemed like every 1,500 miles. The last incident was when I was driving home from work on a main highway and my car just killed on me. I was able to coast to the shoulder but had to be towed home. While all of this was going on I brought it to the dealership where I purchased it along with other parts stores and had them run the machine test on it and I would never get a code. My wife has been doing some research and it was brought to her attention that gm knows about this issue and there is a company what can give us a new engine for $5,000 and then they make a claim and gm buys the old motor from the company. I would be nice if gm would pay for a new motor for everyone that trusted in their vehicles. This vehicle was not cheap and there is no way anyone should have this type of issue and gm not be held accountable for their defected motors that they are aware of. I now have a broken car that just sits and I have to make other arrangements to get to and from work until I can fix my car which is buy a new engine. I have always been a gm person but looks like I will have to start to look other places. The sad part is I like my car and other than the engine I have had no other major issues.
Gear shift release switch knob broken : causing not going into park or in park position but engine won't turn off due to not being in park. There are not replacement parts available.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Buick Verano. While parking at a restaurant, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle lunged more than five feet across two concrete curbs and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. The VIN was not available.
The key has gotten stuck in the ignition several times. This prevents the car from moving and turning off completely. At one point the car began to roll as I was attempting to get out to get assistance. I was eventually able to go onto youtube and discovered the issue was consistent with the chevy malibu, so I used the same technique described in the youtube video to remove the key. The same issue occurred on the evening on February 21, 2019. The valet supervisor went to retrieve my car and was unable to remove the key out of the ignition and the car would not move into the park gear. I would move into drive, neutral and reverse but not park. I believe my car is also impacted under the following recall number:50490 and 50491. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
My vehicle starts jerking when I get off expressway. Or at red light or conjested traffic. Car has no code been on at least 7 machine no code Buick cant find the problem.
Head gasket, piston kit, seal, fod bolt, valve cover, sealer, and coolant / car was not in motion during the time of discovery.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Buick Verano. While the vehicle was parked, it would turn on and off by itself. The failure also occurred while driving 45 mph. When the contact was attempting to return home, the vehicle cut off in the middle of the road. The contact had to wait fifteen minutes to restart it and drive home. The dealer (ray laethem Buick GMC, 17677 mack Ave, detroit, mi 48224, (313) 886-1700) and the manufacturer stated that they could not find any failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Warning light come on and and the car won't start. I just park for a day or so, than it starts up like nothing is wrong with it.
