While driving on the highway there was a random harsh jerk on my car, and I was immediately unable to maintain safe speeds driving nearly causing a serious crash. All of the service lights (service parking assist, service power steering, service stabilitrak, and check engine light) should up on the dashboard. Trying to engage the vehicle into drive after parked had a harsh jerk shifting into gear and the accelerator was not working properly (going extremely slower than applied pressure). Mobile mechanic reader coded my vehicle with u0101 “lost communication with tcm”. After touching that tcm connection all of the service lights randomly turned back off, and the vehicle drove (temporarily) normal. No repairs were performed due to possible recall concerns.

I would be driving then radio would blink off and the steering would lose power but the car does not shut off. Radio will come back on and then able to steer again. Ac blower is stop or get low. Lights will blink dim on dash and headlights. I took it to the shop and they can’t find the problem. The car shop googled this and a lot of Buick Veranos have this same problem but can’t find a solution. I need answers because its dangerous to drive and loose steering. This has happened over 6 times in less than a month.

Car keeps stalling and the service power steering warning comes on the dash as well as the service air bag. Then the car speed drops to around 20 mph and won’t go any faster and then when you stop at a stop sign or something the car acts like it doesn’t want to go.
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Verano. The contact stated that after his daughter started the vehicle and attempted to shift into drive, the gear selector briefly failed to move into drive. Upon shifting into drive, the contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring an increased effort to maneuver the vehicle, prompting her to discontinue driving the vehicle. The powering steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the gear selector lever. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Steering gear linkage went out.

Driving 40 mph all dash electronics went off as going to turn into parking lot medium traffic steering very very hard to turn, made into lot pulled immediately into first open space engine stalled. Put into park attempted to restart, click-click-click like dead battery opened hood alternator belt ok. Walked into nearby restaurant for lunch ( could not close windows) came out (45minutes) car started rite up everything worked - decided to shoot for home (9 miles) steering still very hard to steer made wide turns to get onto road volt gauge read 12. 4 & climbing- windows & all electrical began working as volt gauge hit over 12,8 steering came back to normal. Steering happened 1 other time we were during and within a 1/2 mile it came back.
Electrical system shut off and I lost control of car.
Power steering, brakes, turn signals, monitor screen. The cars steering will lock up and pull to the right hand side and the brakes get mushy. This could be deadly to myself and other motor vehicles. It happens suddenly with out warning and if there is a vehicle in the right hand lane, you will crash into it. I am waiting to take it to the dealer but prior to the steering and electrical, I told them on 10/12/21 oil service about the brakes feeling mushy and they said that’s the way they’re supposed to be. Only other passengers have witnessed the electrical and steering problem happen. At the exact same time the steering goes out the stability trek light flashes on the panel, the media screen goes out and my turn signal (if on) has no audio. I bought the car 3/26/21 @ 44,690 miles. On 10/12/21 I mentioned the brakes and about 2 months after that this electrical/steering problem started happening. It started out as little quirks but has progressively gotten worse. There is not 1 specific thing that seems to trigger the effect, it is variable.
The power steering indicator will show up and shut the car off while driving. You will be unable to stop your car.
My car just shut off while I’m driving.
Power steering an steering wheel locks, once this happens the car becomes a safety hazard, first time it happened two children were in the car and seconds from an accident on the freeway. Exited the freeway and car steering wheel failed again this time stopped working completely putting my children’s life in danger.

The car power steering locked and stopped working while driving on the freeway, this incident put at risk myself and my children safety. After exiting the freeway the steering wheel stopped working again. This is a known issue as the car steering power was not recalled but the issue was acknowledged but gm. The car is a safety hazard for the person who drive it and the public.
Vehicle started flashing multiple indicators on the dashboard, including those related to the charging system. Radio screen went off and then the power steering lost electrical boost while turning the steering wheel. Radio screen came back on its own but then it started cycling among its options (am, fm, bluetooth, etc) until settling in fm radio. Second occurrence was similar, although with different manifestations with the dashboard indicators although most concerning behavior dealt with the steering loosing boost almost causing an accident. Have reconnected the battery (changed about 4 months ago, currently showing 12. 38v) and retighten the connections to the poles. Retightened the cables going to ground (they were not loose).
Started having the radio blank out and then steering wheel would lose power while driving. Service stability track error comes on. Took in for diagnostic and was told rear control module was bad. After 1500 to 1800. 00 in repairs still had the same issues within 7 days. I've contacted dealership and general motor. I'm afraid my car will lose power while on highway.
The car constantly has the same error stating that the ac is off due to high engine temps. Even when first started in the mornings. Last week I was driving and the car showed an error stating that the stablitrak needed serviced. It then jumped lanes and left the road. I lost steering capability as well and my screen for the radio and such keep blacking out and rebooting over and over.

Making a left hand turn, wrench light came on, stabilitrak light came on, middle console went out and yanked the entire car to the right. Luckily both hands were on the wheel and no cars in the lane to the right, was able to keep the car in the lane barely. Stopped at the car wash, felt the car jump a bit. Drove another 3 minutes home and as I was backing into the my parking spot my middle console went out and came back on several times with approx 4 sec delays being off, cars power steering was off and on constantly, trying to turn the wheel to the left to pull forward a little the car kept jerking forward as I kept trying to turn left but the wheel kept acting like it was hitting a wall, the stabilitrak light kept flashing. Trying to turn it right and back up the middle console kept flashing and the wheel kept jerking. Finally got the car parked and the neighbor heard me on the phone and stepped out to ask if I was ok, when I was trying to park she heard a huge crash at that time and thought it was an accident of some sort. Today was the first day for all of this. The middle console has been flashing on and off for a few months and the stabilitrak light started coming on last weekend.
On multiple occasions my cars electrical system will randomly fade in and out and shut down while driving. This is most evident in the power steering, radio controls and air conditioning. I have tested and replaced both the battery in the alternator. I have also brought the car into the dealership so they could run a diagnostics. Nothing can be identified as a central problem, but the issue still continues. It is very dangerous as I loose my power steering while turning. This happens on short trips and long trips and many times while on the freeway at high speeds.
When driving with or without passenger the service airbag warning goes off and on the whole time while driving and being parked. Plus the service power steering warning comes on as well.
2/15/2020 as I was leaving work at 10:08a. M as soon as I pulled out of parking lot and started to go my car shut down. I was going probably 23 mph: the steering wheel locked, pedal went to the floor, everything cut off. Thank god I was able to put it in park. I was blessed to not be in heavy traffic and could coast to the curb as I fought with the steering wheel to get out of the street. I tried several times to start it and it wouldn't, I got nothing, the car was completely dead. The keys wouldn't come out but I figured it out. Husband came, took out battery and took it to get checked out, it was 100%. I called a roadside service to have it towed to chevy, where I bought it in 11/2015, but when my husband was reconnecting the battery the car came to life. I called and cancelled the towi, drove her home no problem; however, something is definitely wrong 😕this care is getting traded soon no more Buicks for me🙋.
I've only had the vehicle a year some change. Parking break light comes when I turn the car off and goes away once I put it drive or reverse. Power steering locks on me when turning especially on the highway which is so dangerous. Also so many electrical problems with the computer in the vehicle that cause the door to lock and unlock on its own when I try to put on my fog lights the engine may rev up.
I purchased my Buick Verano on 12/29/2017. During the first while driving my eletrical system just shut down about 2-3 times. In the second year it started happening more often while making a turn or just going aroun another vehicle. From July to August the electrical system shut down about 5 times in about a 5 week span which made it very hard to steer the vehicle and all of the radio screen shut down also. This issue has me worried because at high speeds if this happens it will be very hard to control the vehicle. I have noticed that this is a common problem with this vehicle. Has the car dealers acknowledge this issue and what do they recommend to do?.
Cada vez que prendo el carro se prende el foco disiendo que tiene pntelas con el volante y se siente que se va a laquear, tambin se apag el estrio cuando el carro estaba en movimiento.
Noticed car jerking and losing power while goin uphill. Going uphill slowed down to only go about 25mph. Came to not being able to drive forward at all only in reverse. Had car tested at 2 different auto places and was given possible codes of it being the transmission module. Unfortunately up to now haven't been able to afford to repair.
Certain systems of my car while I am driving will shut down. For example I will be taking a turn and the power steering will go out. Other things that seem to shut down either at the same time or separately are the radio/ screen, the cruise control, blinker, ect. This has been an issue especially when I am turning and the power steering goes out. I looked online to see what may be the problem and noticed plenty of other people have had these issues as well with no one being able to find a solution.
2012 Buick Verano. Immediately upon purchase I noticed the fresh air intake always had hot air blowing through vents. Dealer and gm customer service said nothing is wrong. Other Verano owners would stop me in parking lots and ask me if I had the same issue as they had. It was a defect. After 40,000 miles the timing chain needed replaced; camshaft position solenoid valve replaced; new gasket kit; output shaft seal leaking. At 60,000 miles, the car lost all power while driving 55 miles an hour on highway (other owners- Buick forums - had the same dangerous experience). By lost power, I mean the car suddenly had no power steering, brakes. Gas pedal was not operational. The engine shut off. Piston ring failure was the diagnosis from Buick service. Almost 4000 to fix they stated. None of these issues should have happened with a car with only 60,000 miles. The Verano is no longer being manufactured. Gm should admit that they sold a defective product that did not perform as advertised. After addition investigation, I've discovered that gm was well aware of this problem since 2014. Gm never notified Verano owners of this issue. What's more; the Buick dealership told me there was never a service bulletin issued by gm for this problem. Service bulletin 13-06-01-003h in fact was issued. For all Verano owners, please take note. You may still have recourse. Takata recall. I the procees of driving and turning the dash board lights up and its a symbol with a small wrench . The car jerks I a whole new direction. And then another symbol appears and says power steering service and it is really hard to drive and turn while on the highway or street.
My power steering sensor is on as well as the stability trak sensor.
Steering wheel locked into the straight position and would turn left. Dashboard blinked messages across the screen. " service power steering" and "service stability track". Unfortunately once you turn the car off and turn the car back on, it resets itself and all the alerts are no longer present.
I was driving normally, slowed down to make a left turn and the steering wheel locked up on me. I could not turn at all. I was in a lane of traffic at the time but fortunately on a private street. I called the Buick dealer and they suggested gm roadside assistance. I called gm roadside assistance and it took 2 hours for a tow truck to pick up the car. I had the flashers on the whole time and the battery was dead when the tow truck driver tried to start it. He jumped it and the steering wheel was still locked. It was towed to the dealer. The dealer told me the pin fell when it was not supposed to. They are checking out the car now. Thankfully I was not on the freeway or anywhere else as it could have been a disaster.
The contact owns a 2012 Buick Verano. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where it was determined that the steering coil spring would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v300000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
My car has only 55, 148 miles and the power steering module has gone out already. I have had my car for only 3 years and I have already had problems with the transmission and now the power steering. I am not sure how much it will cost to get it repair. My car locked up as I was driving it. I looked down and saw my dashboard flashing saying that the power steering needed to be service. I could not turn the car at first. All I could do is just go straight. Then all of a sudden I was able to turn the car, but it was very hard.
Steering feels like it wants to lock up on long trips. I traded in a 2012 Verano for the same problem. Dealership took over a month to get parts, so I traded it in. While driving on the freeway, it feels like when you try to stay in your lane, you barely move the steering wheel, and it feels as though it wants to lock up. Not a comfortable feeling, cause it can turn too much and cause an accident, death.
From a stop start to accelerate into right turn right front wheel starts to wobble and tremors is felt in steering wheel. Wobble not felt in quick acceleration only in gradual acceleration. It has become progressively worse over the last 5000 miles. Took it to gm dealer. Say they could not feel problem. Took technician for a ride and duplicated problem several times. Technician s says he feels tremor does not know what is causing problem. The problem is definitely coming from right cv axle when power is initially applied to right wheel. Vehicle has been in shop four days no solution to problem.
I was driving through a construction zone when my steering wheel locked up. It surprised me and caused me panic somewhat. The lane was very narrow and started to turn, but my steering wheel did not respond the way it should. It took a lot of effort to turn the wheels. The car got too close to the cement guardrails and collided with them on the passenger side up by the front wheel. The car has damage at the site of impact and now the stabilitrac system has a fail light on. Also, the car shakes when driven, and there is a general loss of control when steering now.
Corrosion and faulty connection to positive cable I have had to replace battery 2 times in the past year. The battery bracket is corroding and the computer. Positive cable terminal.
