Equipment Problems of Cadillac ATS - part 1

The white pearl paint is chippng off everywhere. It started aat the drivers door directly under the rear view mirror. The underside of the trunk deck lid is completely paint free at this point. There are bubbles eroding on the drivers side rear fender area. When a paint meter was used to check the thickneess of the paint - it was disagnosed at a "1'", which is the thinnest possible number on the paint meter. I would like to demand that these parts of my pristine car be repainted at no cost to myself.

They have terrible transmission that barely make it to 50,000 miles before problems start happening. Parts are not cheap at all it’s general motors 8 speed transmissions my 2017 caddilac Ats is on its 2nd transmission and it’s already driving terrible I fear I may be left stranded next time this happens. The car has a new transmission with only over 37 thousand miles on the transmission.

We have owned the 2015 Ats Cadillac since August 31, 2016 . The rear glass is blurry when looking back from the front seat. We replaced the rear view mirror thought that was the problem but didn’t correct. I checked on the windshield glass. I took these number off the rear glass. Gm dot-376 as2 m2h3 trans 70 o/o min. E6 43r-008011 agc automotive 30 b a006450 tempered GS. I have a picture showing the above info. Taken from the rear glass…. .

Greetings! I hope this message finds you in great health and spirits. I am experiencing an issue with the transmission linkage cable on my 2013 Cadillac Ats luxury. There was a product safety recall issued in 2014 - recall bulletin 14179a. I purchased this vehicle in January 2015. I took it to a local Cadillac dealership and they found that I need a new cable. They stated the issue was repaired in 2014, before I owned the vehicle, and they have refused to fix the issue at no cost to me. If the cable was replaced with the same part that has deemed defective and the recall does not expire, this should be resolved at the manufacturer's expense.

Hi, the cue screen is cracked which makes it no longer handsfree. It cracked in July of 2023 and it's a 2018, purchased in October 2017, the dealer will not fix it, I don't have $1500 to replace it with a one year warranty and it could happen again. I am not eligible for the class action suit which stopped with cars up to 2017. Please advise since this is an extreme hazard since the screen cracks and if driving using navigation it can cause an accident !.

It appears that the transmission shift cable detached while I was driving the vehicle. I went to stop the vehicle and put it in park and the vehicle kept rolling. I had to press the parking break to keep the vehicle from moving.

While waiting for the car in front of me in the valet line, I put my 2013 Cadillac Ats in park. When it was my turn, I attempted to put the car back in drive to move forward, but the shifter was locked in the park position. I had my foot on the brake and when I took it off the car began rolling forward, even though the shifter was in the park position. The screen above the steering wheel as well as the light on the shifter indicated that my vehicle was in drive, even though the shifter was locked in the 'park' position. I powered the car off, and after that it would not start. The screen and on the shifter still indicated that the car was in drive. Ultimately, the vehicle had to be towed. After having the vehicle inspected by a mechanic, it was found that the transmission shift cable became detached/failed/malfunctioned. I discovered that there was a recall on certain Cadillac vehicles for the issue I experienced, (recall number 14v338000). However, my vehicle did not have the recall when my VIN was looked up, but my car experienced the recall issue nevertheless. My safety as well as several others were put at risk because the car would roll if my foot was not on the brake, which could have seriously injured anybody/anything in its path. There were no warning lamps/messages/symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The vehicle component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, as they quoted me a price of over $1000, holding me responsible even when there is a recall that matches the failure that took place in my vehicle.

My headlight bulbs have been replaced and checked 2x by the used auto superstore which I will not name at this time ! and by the manufacturer (dealer) but once it’s dark out and the automatic brights come on and either both or one side goes completely out only to come back on sometimes or not at all which is very dangerous especially at night !.

The cue screen doesn’t work, has spider web on each corner, can’t use hands free phone or navigation, the screen won’t change from the taking your eyes off message while driving.

While out driving, the vehicle would not shift gear into park upon arriving at a parking lot. The car was transported to an nearby garage and the transmission shift cable was found to be melted/severed upon undercarriage inspection. This is a recall for other models of 2013-2014 Ats. If the transmission shift cable detaches while the vehicle is being driven, the transmission gear selection may not match the indicated gear and the vehicle may move in an unintended or unexpected direction, increasing the risk of a crash. Furthermore, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, despite selecting the 'park' position, the transmission may not be in 'park. ' if the vehicle is not in the 'park' position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.

Rear axle differential failed.

White hazy web like obstruction suddenly appeared on the display of the cue system. It obstructs 35% of the screen and makes it difficult to utilize the back up camera. It was fine one day and then the obstruction appeared the next day. It is garage stored and I have 44,000 original miles.

Cadillac Ats is sold with a faulty driver console. The console is known as the Cadillac user experience (cue).  faulty-console is a serious safety issue for the following reasons: 1. Driver distractions: loss of navigation and unexpected changes in radio and air-conditioning are constant distractions. These distractions take the driver's attention away from the roadway. They also force driver's to make unexpected stops on highways and roadways.   2. Customer profile: Cadillac Ats customers are mostly seniors and mature individuals. Constant distractions have amplified impact. Considering the above major factors, the faulty console is a safety issue due to constant distractions. We paid $1,065. 30 to replace the faulty cue screen for something that must be recalled. There are many references made to faulty cue consoles on the internet and its time for NHTSA to take a step forward and call these faulty consoles and constant distractions a safety issue.  .

As I was driving my screen went blank while I was using my navigation system to get around and ended up being lost and had to stop and ask for directions on how to get back home. The cue system went down.

I'm really upset my car when I got it had 92,000 miles first week I got it start to shutter then stall while at stop and shut off or driving on the freeway then just stall and loose pier and shut off very unsafe and I feel scared to drive this car I took it to so many shop and they all can't find the issue on why it stalling and shutting off told Cadillac dealer they said it needed update guess what did update and guess what still happing I've done all required maintence change spark plugs keep up on oil. Change and etc still stalling while driving and at complete stop it not safe car to drive it just stalls and turn off took it to Cadillac still nothing now it back in shop for the 14 time with Cadillac gilbert az to see if they can find the issue and the fix I think this is gm Cadillac issue with the computer that causing my car go into some type safe mode and make the car stall and shutter then turn off but when it on highway it drives fine then stalls . I'm for sure this is mechanical issue that has to do with something Cadillac did and they need be responsible with this issue everyone tells me go dealer because the check engine like codes they don't recognize only Cadillac well Cadillac makes no since I think my computer system is making the car go into some type safe mode and shut off I've seen many complaints about this and it crazy and unsafe I've reported this to highway safety board and better business bureau and other places this doesn't make since you guys need provide solution for this issue .

The vehicle shakes while idling,happens all the time. The dealer ship verified that there is engine vibration due to defect in engine motor mounts. Its very scary feeling. Feels like the engine will shut off.

My cue screen has completely spiderwebbed and is no longer functioning. I can barely see my back up cam. I can no longer utilize the vehicle hands free because I cannot set up bluetooth. Apparently this is a wide known issue with gm and will not be covered to fix. Which is about $2k out of pocket. This car is parked in a garage 100% of the time and is barely drove 2 miles per day. It only has 72000k miles.

54,189 miles on car currently. Since June of 2019 my car/engine will completely shut off at a red light, or a coming to a stop sign (basically completely stopped or coming to a stop). Its even shut off while in reverse. When this happens, the gear is still in drive. So I then have to put the car in park,press the brake and start it again. It sputters to start again, but it starts. Its getting more frequent, with it stopping up to 3 times at one stop light, and then having to restart it again. There are no codes on the dash. Ive brought my car into crest Cadillac multiple times to try and diagnose this issue. They cannot find the root cause, and it still happening most recently today! there is a new battery, alternator testing in good condition. They have tested the battery cables/lines. This is incredibly frustrating. My car has stopped on me when trying to accelerate and turn into a lane and I was almost hit bc my engine completely shut off. I also called gm and was told without a diagnosis they cant help. Ive spent so much money on diagnostic tests with no answers. I need help please.

The cue on my cadillca 2018 Ats just stop working , I searched online and found out millons ,of Cadillac owners cue has stopped working. My car only has 60,000 miles, I got it new in 2018 June. Rear left/rear right axle seals leaking reported to me on 06/01/2020 while 2014 Ats was in for service for tires and coolant leak mileage 71,538. I was advised it's a very slow drip and it doesn't need to be taken care of right away but to keep an eye on it vebally over the phone. I looked back on my service records and the leak was detected on 03/20/2020 by the dealer but r. 0 closure date is noted as 03/18/2020 I was not made aware of a critical repair needed on the drive axle (rear differential leak) odometer on 03/18/2020 59,750. The seals should not be breaking at this mileage. . . This should be covered under warranty. It's a massive issue with the Cadillac Ats. This is going to cost around $1500. 00 to fix now. . . Which is obsurd. This is a safety hazard to drive the car like this as per many online reports that I've read online.

Cuescreen cue problems include �spider webbing,� unresponsive screens, does not work.

Cue screen stopped working.

The car emits a strong mold mildew smell coming into the cabin from the vents :( I have changed the cabin filter and it is not better.

My vehicle always missing or act like it going to turn off or some time it turn off. It vibrates when you take off. Then it stops but when you come to a stop again it does the same thing everytime. And everytime I take it to the shop they always tell me something different to cost me more money. This car is a lemon!!!!!!!!!!! major problems it stays in the shop. I can fax you or give you the dealership number so you can get all the times it been in the shop and all the problems.

Cadillac que does not work. Changes channels on its on. Touch screen don't work. Can't change channels. Can't use hands free blue tooth. Changes on the dash.

Cue system and screen broken for second time. Safety issue every time I drive. Unable to use phone or navigation.

The touch screen does not work. It moves by itself and even when we select an option it does not recognize it. It is a scary as we cannot receive phone calls and it is a constant distraction where the whole menu is not working. We have been to the dealer a couple of times and I also kept a message for the manager on Friday (September 28th). He never replied back. We have a few videos that show the touch screen is not working (it works a few times). The problem occurs more when it is warm weather. Many other folks have reported the same issue (a google search shows many folks reporting the same issue).

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Cadillac Ats. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle lost all power. No warning lights illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer: les stanford Chevrolet 21711 michigan Ave, dearborn, mi 48124 who never stated the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure occurred again after repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000. Hk.

While driving 70 mph on an interstate; drove into rough median going at a downhill angle. Hit two culverts (made of steel and concrete), one of which sent the car airborne. The car landed into oncoming interstate traffic and did a 180� turn before coming to a rest. The strut came up through the hood of the car, and the front end of the car was torn up very badly, as was the rear bumper. The front two tires were pointing in different directions. The car was later declared a total loss. The airbags did not deploy, nor did the onstar service respond (paid monthly fees for over 4 years).

Keys were in owner's hands while opening the trunk, and then the keys were accidentally dropped into the trunk when the trunk was shut. When owner attempted to open the trunk by hitting the button on the trunk, the trunk did not open. Then the owner attempted to open driver's side door to access the trunk release button, but the vehicle did not recognize that the keys were inside the vehicle (I. E. Trunk) and the door did not unlock (I. E. The button on the door handles did not work).

2014 Cadillac Ats that has a constant shudder or viberation at all speeds. I took it to everette GMC in hickory, about 5 or 6 months ago. They acknowledged the problem but are unable to fix. I balanced and rotated tires to no avail. Very frustrating. I understand other GMC owners have this same problem.

Car shut off for the second time no on has looked in to this. This is my second car accident and now out of work.

Cadillac Ats lost power and shut off while driving causing lose of control as well as right control arm snapping in half. Driver then hit ditch and then a tree cause damage to front of the car and injury to drive.

Engine idles at start up and at stop light . Ac comes on when it wants to.
