36 Equipment problem of the 2014 Cadillac ATS

Failure Date: 07/23/2015

I discovered while my car was parked in the garage that the right front tire had a protruding sidewall next to the rim, with about a 4-inch split and exposed steel belt. On the same day I had the tire replaced for $293. 61. Within the next week I discovered that all of the other three tires began showing protruding sidewalls. Note that the electronic inflation history shows no significant deviation from normal pressures. There were no crashes involving the vehicle. All 4 tires were the originals from the gm factory. Neither Cadillac, where the first tire was replaced, nor michelin, the manufacturer, offer any warranty or credit toward replacement of any of the four tires. These tires appear to be defective with the potential safety issue for sudden blowout. There does not appear to be any external cause for this defect to occur at only 10,000 miles. The michelin model # is 225/40r18. My local Cadillac service manager has stated that this has been reported to gm, and they will not assume any responsibility.

37 Equipment problem of the 2013 Cadillac ATS

Failure Date: 05/05/2015

There is an automatic lock feature on this vehicle. If the key is left in the car, the driver's door is to remain unlocked. On may 5th 2015, this feature malfunctioned and locked all doors. The safety complaint I have is that my 19 month old baby was in the car when this happened. Fortunately, I was in my driveway and was able to locate my spare key within minutes and get her out. I live in az. If this were to happen away from home on a hot summer day, the outcome could have ended up in fatality. Please suggest a recall so this can never happen to anyone.

39 Equipment problem of the 2014 Cadillac ATS

Failure Date: 08/11/2014

I called the dealership (katherine cole who sold us the run flat tires), tweeted gm. No one at this point has been the least bit interested in what I had I to say. After my crash, on August 11, 2014, I have found several other Ats owners that experience the same exact issue. . My daughter and I suffered terrible injuries, crash and totaled my car. I also am finding that there maybe a tire issue because of fast wear after only 7,000 miles. What, is gm or the tire manufacture or these safety org. Waiting for someone to die? I sent in a complaint in about my 2014 Cadillac Ats causing me to have a near fatal car accident. Gm is claiming that the tires were worn and speed caused the accident, which is false. My car only had 7500 miles ( car was purchased with only 256 miles) and the tires were not worn! the car was just in for service for it’s premium care lease maintenance, the service advisor would have mentioned that at time! the speed was caused from the accident. My daughters abdomen was injured from the seat belt too! between gm and michelin tires I am getting no where, they are pointing the finger to each other when I voted for you I thought you would fight for michiganders! how would you feel if I were your family member. I have been four surgeries and at least two more, please rethink your decision please help me.

40 Equipment problem of the 2013 Cadillac ATS

Failure Date: 06/02/2014

Since June 2013, the Cadillac Ats has been making a vibration feeling. The vibration is unknown, it has been to service twice. First I was suggested to try a different gas (premium gas). The problem continued to occur, so I switched back to regular gas. Then received a recall letter about the transmission shift and that problem was fixed. But I also asked service to drive vehicle around while in the shop to figure out the occurring vibration issue. Service told me all the Cadillac Ats's cars do the same thing and that thats how they were manufactured, but the problem continues. I don't want to insert a different gas type if the car is suppose to take regular unleaded. (I bought car because it is gas saver). As a customer I shouldn't have to change the gas and spend more than I already am monthly if the car is not running properly. Nor should I have to keep taking it in for recalls and paying for a car ($552 per month) if it was not manufactured correctly in the first place. I have the right to exchange my defected vehicle at the cost of general motors.
