Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while driving, and while depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the brake failed, the contact had to engage the emergency brake to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel would shake at low and high speeds. The brake and abs warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lower control arms failed, the ball joint was crack and both needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to central houston Cadillac dealer, located at 2520 main st, houston, TX 77002, (832) 431-5697, but was not diagnosed or repaired due to the diagnostic and repaired fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opens a case number: 84781603741. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000. Aw.
Pulling out from my driveway in slow speed about 3 mph on reverse turning steering wheel left my radio show message "service brake assistance". Same time I lost the brake, traction control and abs light come on on the dashboard. Lucky this was low speed so car stops on my neighbor trash can. I don't want to think what will happen if the other car will drive by or someone will walk by. I am scare to drive now.
While making a left turn into driveway brake pedal pulsated the service brake assist indicator came on the traction control and abs lights also came on, the car would not stop right then.
Abs brakes would kick in when attempting to park the vehicle at about 5 mph. The only way I could stop the car was to throw it into park or hit the emergency brake. It was happening about 2 times every month or two. Very randomly. I kept brushing it off until one day I almost hit a person. The abs and tc warning lights would come on the dash and then go away when restarting the vehicle. I then decided to take it to the Cadillac dealer and he told me that it was probably the abs sensors. This was on oct. 12, 2010. As it turned out, I had to replace the left front hub bearing assembly at a cost of $659. 41. The name of the Cadillac dealerwhere I had it repaired is faulkner Cadillac, 298 stoke park road, bethlehem,PA. . Phone # 610-867-4177. My customer on the receipt is #73324, and the invoice # is 1007398. The mileage at that time was 50,590. The repair date was oct. 12, 2010. Since I had it repaired, I haven't had any more problems. I'm sure that I'm not the only one having this problem and I think it should be looked into before someone gets seriously hurt.
