general problems of the 2006 Cadillac CTS

The air bad light on passenger side and on the review mirror it passenger airbag bag off that a safety issue it won’t work if in a accident need to be recalled.

Well I am uncertain but we have two 2006 Cadillac Cts and both have had multiple transmissions replaced. Multiple differential problems and air bag and wireing problems.

Service airbag light on dash is on. No one ever sits in the passenger front seat. The rear view mirror indicates that the passenger seat airbag is off. I dont know how to turn it on just to see if the rvm will indicate an on position. I took the car in for a diagnosis and it it indicated that the pps module needs replacement. ($1280. 79) even if I do find out how to turn it on I would be afraid to turn it on if it’s going to explode that’s my problem what should I do.

I am deaf and the “service air bag” and the symbol came on several times and I took it to a certified mechanic who spent two days checking. This is the what he said upon diagnosis, “ the part you need for the air bag light has been discontinued not available anymore. ” I met him in person and he said the same thing. This is a safety issue. Please help! thank you!.

Thank these things I feel cadilac should consider fixing due to milage before and after I purchased the cadilac due to the miles before and after purchase. Due to being 100% disabled since 2009, air bag & safety belt system light comes on when I have onstar diagnose the problem they said it has something to do with my seat belt system on passenger side which mind you isnt used often at all and cadilac will not help with the cost and was told by onstar it needs repairs ASAP because it could cause air bags to pop out while driving or not come out during a crash. Im afraid some times driving it. In the 7yrs of owning this I maybe put around 40,000 miles on the car its in good condition. Which lead me to the other problem due to miles. When I purchased the cadilac a few days later the check engine light came on it was the catalytic converter it was almost $800 it has two of them the dealer repaired it. Here the other day I had onstar do a complete system scan and the report showed the converter was in the process of going out again but just hasnt triggered my check engine lite. I was shocked because of the miles I drivewhich is under 6000 miles a yr and I use top grade fuel there isnt any way these converters should be going out they should have lasted for the rest of my life and the cars life I take very good care of it changing the oils on a regular bases and other cares are met but when talk to cadilac they didnt even consider my care and miles driven at all or find out why tne converter is needed twice since I owned the car when most cars never need converter replacement. Im 62 yrs old, these are concerns I have but mostly the treatment by cadilac (gm) the safety part being on passenger side that seat never hardly get used but could cause air bags to open while driving and two convertersin 6-7 years of ownership when most cars never need one and othhers just once. Which tells me theres a problem some where else causing it to not work properly, but it didnt matter.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that upon start of her vehicle, the airbag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact called a local dealer who informed her that it could either be an electrical glitch or a defective airbag. The contact was informed to bring the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Takata recall - issued in 2016 with no resolve. Potentially dangerous situation with vehicle.

Fixed once at dealer and fail again after a year.

Service airbag alert on the information center, airbag icon lit on the instrument panel, and passenger airbag off indicated on the rearview mirror. Diagnosis at a Cadillac dealer verified the problem to be identical to the reason for recall 10v-644 (NHTSA action number : eq11001. ) the dealer's service manager said my car did not qualify for repair since my VIN was not included in the recall population. I had him read the following from defect investigations results: NHTSA action number : eq11001: according to its 10v-644 defect report, gm reported that some vehicles outside the recall population have ". . . Significantly lower incident rates and will be provided a special coverage. " this special coverage includes a free repair should the same issue occur to non-recalled 2005-2007 Cadillac Cts vehicles up to 10 years or 120,000 miles. He still insisted that since my VIN was not in the recall population it did not merit repair at no charge.

Vehicle stopped twice on me without warning security light came on it stop while I driving I was turning and hit a hole in road.

Several times I have experienced that when turning right into a parking space my car does not want to come to a stop,my brakes become hard and to come to a stop I have to keep pumping the brakes. I am very scared to even go into a parking space. Dont know if my car is gonna stop or keep going. The first time this happened to me is when first purchased the car,but being that u can use this car as stick or standard I thought maybe I did something wrong,I almost went into my apartment building. I am afraid that I might get into an accident with my grandchildren in the car or even hit someone walking.

I was driver and I begin going to my far line and I was hit by a monster truck the. Other driver received the sitation . Because I had the right away. The other driver liccesses was supened and he was driving a company vehicles. Went to the emgery room that same day. And I recievced . Six thousand in damages. To my vehicles.

The rear driver's side panel that held the air bag came apart. I have not taken the vehicle to the dealer yet. If this panel is not in correctly and the air bag deploys, the panel may not separate correctly and cause injury to any passenger.

Failure of airbag/horn assembly. Horn sounds when making sharp turns.

I was number 6 of persons to have a severe rollover wreck in the same spot. In a curve, my right front tire caught t the lip of a 3 foot deep concrete culvert in a driveway. It was 9 inches from the road edge. It flipped over front to on roof. I was trapped in car. My front airbag partially opened but not enough to keep my face and chest area from hitting and breaking the steering wheel. No other of 7 airbags deployed at all. Every window, including sunroof was totally broken out. Both front seats were crushed into the floor and too hot to touch. . Since it occurred in the country, I was saved by the neighbors calling for help. Onstar failed to notify anyone and the fire/emt man said car was 5 minutes away from going up in flames. My implants were both ruptured by hitting steering wheel and face cut up and bruised by glass and lack of full employment by driver airbag. I have photos showing car and airbag. The airbag was pristine clean with 2 large torn holes. No smoke or dust off any type. I still haven't driven in 21/2 years. Please give me your opinion. Thank you.

Air bag recall by gm in December. I call the Cadillac customer service enquiring about the recall for the passenger seat airbag for certain Cts from 2005-2010 to find out that I have not received any notice and my passenger or airbag system is still disabled since I reported it to gm in 2010 and for them to tell me if my Cts was included. The Cadillac customer service looked in the computer with my VIN number and she could not find anything. I asked which Cts from 2006 and other years was recall and she did not find anything. She asked me to call in two months and see if my car is included. I can not understand if a recall was announce in December 2010, why it would take so long for gm- Cadillac to determine which specific Cts is involve in this recall unless the longer they wait, it will disqualify more owners if they use a mileage limit on the recall. The longer they wait the more mileage owners put in their Cts thus increasing the amount of Cts that they have to fix by disqualifying owners according to mileage. This is a serious safety issue hat should not take 4 months or more to notify owners or determine which Cts is to be recall. The nsta should push for gm and all manufacturers to have a certain date which they have to notify owners to have the safety problem fixed. Any day that passes by it increases the likelihood of a Cadillac owner or persons getting seriosly hurt because of a manufacturers delaying or slow to react tactics. Your help from nsta in this matter will be appreciated.

2006 cadilliac air bag service message and light came on 4 months ago. Saw recall for 2006 cadilliac for issue with air bag. Called Cadillac said it is VIN specific and my vehicle is not included in the recall.

My new Cadillac Cts (purchased in 3/06) was t-boned. No air bags deployed. . . I have been experiencing major back and leg pains of which the doctor said could be related to failure of air bag to deploy. My car was fixed by a local Cadillac dealership and they have failed repeatedly to answer our concerns. We contacted Cadillac and have had no ones attention.

I owned a 2006 Cadillac Cts and while driving down the highway a couple deer jump in front of me I tried to swerve but my tire hit a soft spot in the dirt a jacknifed and flipped three time and none of the 8 airbags went off.
