Latches/locks/linkage Problems of Cadillac CTS

The contact owns a 2009 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the two front door latches were frozen and inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the failure occurred because water and moisture had seeped in and as a result, both latches needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle had already been repaired under a customer satisfaction campaign listed under service bulletin sb-09104 (latches/locks/linkages , structure). The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

The passenger side door will "not" unlatch from the outside with or without the keyless remote. All access has to be done by opening the door from the "inside" door handle.

My cars locking system doesn't work all the time. Taken it to be serviced twice problem not fixed. My car is very dangerous my granddaughter has been in the back seat and the doors would not open had to climb in back seat to get her out. This car is a death trap!!!.

Car front doors will not unlock with auto or manual unlock, once unlock door will not latch lock at all! had to hold door shut for 20 miles at 1am in the morning after going to a wedding reception in philadelphia, PA.

Whenever it gets cold and/or snows, the left rear door of my car opens without warning, then will not remain closed. This is the third time this has occurred since I have owned the vehicle. The first time I returned to Cadillac, it closed when I arrived at the dealer, the second time my son was able to close the door. This last incident, I could not get the door to remain closed, I took it to the dealer, who explained to me there is nothing that can be done to fix this, they follow the guidelines set forth by gm, which is to apply an oil that will absorb the moisture in the doors mechanism. While at the dealer, there were 3 other people with the same complaint. This is a dangerous condition that can cause harm, the first time it happened I had my 2 yr. Grandson in the back seat. Gm should notify its customers that this is a defect of the vehicle. The service person informed me that there is nothing he can do about it, the only solution is to return to the dealer each time this occurs and have them lubricate the door.

While reading mycarstats, I to have experienced the trunk on my 04 Cts slamming down all the time. This has not caused any injury to me thus far. Hopefully this can be resolved before further injuries occur.

2004 Cadillac Cts. The trunk lid fell on my head. I have been having headaches ever since. I probably will go to the doctor to make sure that I did not crack my skull. The lid came down with such a force that was unbelievable!.
