3 Rear Suspension problem of the 2005 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 11/09/2009

Defective rear differential pinion bushing resulting in a audible "clunk" when shifting gears. The automotive aftermarket offers a rear differential pinion brace to compensate for the poor gm design.

4 Rear Suspension problem of the 2006 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 08/14/2008

My car started making "clunking" sounds every time placed it in drive. After doing some research on line, I came up with a recall gm was doing on my car. According to gm, there was a bad rear differential seal, and that oil may leak out. Well that's exactly what happened to my car. Not only did the differential fluid leak out but the bushing broke as will. The dealership covered the fluid leak repair (recall). . . But said the busing broke because of were and tear. . . Not because of the oil leak. They quoted me over $500 to repair when this wouldn't of happened had the seal been good in the first place!.

5 Rear Suspension problem of the 2005 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 04/06/2005

Excessive wheel hop occurs frequently under mild to heavy acceleration. In wet conditions, it happens much more frequently and can cause serious traction and handling problems. This also puts heavy stress on the drivetrain and has caused many failures in half-shafts and differentials amongst other owners vehicles, which could lead to further catastophic loss of control. This is a major issue that is being ignored by the manufacturer at this point in time.

6 Rear Suspension problem of the 2004 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 03/02/2005

While driving 40 mph the rear end locked. As a result, the rear end began spinning out of control. The vehicle was taken tot he dealer who replaced the rear because of noise. Less than three miles from the dealer the vehicle the consumer heard noise and the rear end locked. As a result the vehicle did three 360 degree turns and finally came to rest in a truck stop parking lot. Took car back to dealer and found out that the rear end was out of line from the time of purchased. The tires have been rotated on 2 occasions. This is the third trip back to the dealer for rear end noise.
