Three problems related to steering rack and pinion have been reported for the 1999 Cadillac Deville. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When turning the steering wheel in either direction a thumping noise was produced. Dealer stated rack and pinion bolt was missing . Not only was a bolt missing the bolt was so loose it was hanging off. The mechanic replaced the missing bolt and tightened the loose bolt.
Rack and pinion steering failed on my 1999 Cadillac Deville with only 33200 miles on it. It was 2 months out of warranty.
