Cadillac appears to be well aware that this problem exists with some north star engines, (based on specific oil consumption procedures dictated to their dealerships, I. E. Ring flushing, ring replacement with special rings, etc), but fails to inform the consumer of this potential problem when purchasing a new vehicle.

They say that this is normal. I reported this over a year ago! I was having a oil consumption test, but now they can not find the records.
Vehicle burns oil every 1,000 to 1,500 miles. Vehicle had taken a quart of oil every 500 miles on a road trip. Independent mechanic is conducting an oil consumption test to locate problem. Dealer was notified. Consumer also states that the vehicle had burned 1qt of oil on a recent 500 mile trip.
