2002 Cadillac Deville. Consumer writes in regards to defective ignition switch tumbler. The consumer stated the key would not stay in the ignition, which caused the vehicle to stall. Also, when the consumer tried to remove the key, it would not come out of the ignition. He had to disconnect the battery, in order to turn the vehicle off.
Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that they took the vehicle to the dealer for NHTSA recall campaign 14v355 (electrical system) and the failure still occurred. The contact stated that the dealer just did the repair to the key, but the vehicle still stalled because of the failed ignition switch. The manufacturer refused to replace the ignition stating it was not listed in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The VIN was not available. Rl.
