5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2017

The engine mount has been replaced three times and keeps braking, I can't afford to keep paying to replace it every six months, my mechanic says its been misdesigned, because the engine is too strong, he also said that it is a common problem for all of the vehicles with that size engine, my concern is, what is going to happen if I don't replace it anymore and it completely brakes? should this happens when I'm trying to cross a road with lots of traffic and I need to speed, I will be stranded in the middle of the road and be hit by another car? also, another concern is that my transmission is going to get damaged, ever time I take off, I can feel how hard it hits the engine due to the movement allowed by the broken engine mount.

I got a recall air bag notice and my service air bag is on. I as well got a notice for my heated washer fluid.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

Low oil pressure shut engine off light keeps flashing and dinging. Stops sometimes and starts back while driving on city street.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2016

I have contacted Cadillac customer service regarding my steering wheel smoking and burning a hole in the leather when I use the heated steering wheel feature. They are claiming that it is the result of normal wear and tear which I find absurd. The dealer representative stated to me that in the 10 years he's been working on gm cars, he has never seen this happen. Also, the dealer charged me to replace all four internal door handles after the metal degraded and started cutting our hands. Apparently, other Escalades were covered under a recall but not my VIN. I think both should be covered by gm given the serious nature of both defects.

The state of michigan has mandated that all limousines and limousine buses are required to have the rear door locking mechanism disabled and the door knobs removed; as well as the ability to electronically lock the doors while in motion or at rest! this mandate seems to be a state of michigan requirement only. I am gravely concerned that this will give a customer / individual the ability to open the door while the vehicle is in motion which will result in serious injury or death! please contact me at 231-944-5031 if I am wrong in this concern. . . After driving the car on highway with no issues car will stall out approaching lights, stop signs or slowing down or letting off gas pedal. Has happened 8-9 times in last week. No warning lights or idling issues that would warn us of the issue. Changed battery, crankshaft sensor ,cleaned throttle body, fuel filter ,and changed oil. No codes show up on mechanics diagnostic meter. I have taken to online Cadillac forums and learned this is not an uncommon problem. Very unsettling with wife and 4 children in vehicle.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2014

Multiple exhaust manifold bolts broken causing exhaust gas leaks between exhaust manifold and cylinder head. Condition exists on both sides of engine.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2013

Driver stopped vehicle preparing to park, placed it in "park" and proceeded to turn ignition into "off" position. The key was firmly locked in the "run" position and would not turn to "off" or any other position. After trying to turn key for several minutes, driver called gm/sewell - Cadillac service department for instruction to turn the vehicle off. The service department could not provide any solutions that worked over the phone. The vehicle had to be shut off at the service department. After the initial incident there were a number of other incidents including key hard to turn in ignition, numerous occasions of power loss throughout systems in vehicle. The vehicle has been taken the sewell Cadillac many times for these safety issues. A number of calls have been made to gm also about the vehicle and its defective nature. I firmly believe that this vehicle should be included in the ignition recalled vehicles.

I purchased a 2007 Escalade and have had it for just about 1 year. So far I have had to replace a defective windshield, hubs, evap sensor, purge valve, fuel level sensor, transmission, defective rims, plus the normal wear and tear items. . . . Breaks, rotors, battery. All of which happened to go right around 90,000 to 100,000 miles. I contacted Cadillac to address the issues and compensate some costs as this SUV has always been regularly maintained with the best products available including synthetic oils. They refused to work with me. . . . Well today the icing on the cake. My grandfather passed away this week, while moving his personal belongings and having a full truck load of them the truck caught on fire. Smoke began to pour in from the dash by the windshield the under the dash. I opened the hood and flames shot out burning my hand. The police & fd came. Thank god for the family in the home near by who ran out with a fire extinguisher. I had to pay for a tow from maine to nh. I was out of state, the dealer is closed until Monday. Find a vehicle to use to go to NY where the funeral service are being held. This vehicle is undependable, unreliable, junk that is unsafe. Not only is it because this one is a lemmon but because they do not back the product. Gm does not care about the publics safety. They don't care if folks get injured or killed. Many of the issues I have had are safety issues but gm dose not find them to be. If a transmission locks up when you are doing 65 on a highway and drops to 20 I think that's a safety issue. At least that is what I have been told by multiple mechanics. If your windshield is defective due to the plastic and glass separating and you can't see to drive, that too is a safety issue. If your hubs go bad your wheel can come off at any speed. . . Another issue. And if you are trapped in a burning car. I would also say that may be an issue too.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2010

The exterior door handles have pulled out from the door three times. When you go to open the door, the door handle pulls out from the door frame. I just had this happen again for the third time at a cost of $232. 72. This could be a safety hazard if you were in a crash and had to have some one open the door from the outside to remove you or your family. It is obviously a design flaw.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2010

2007 Cadillac Escalade esv, while eastbound in the right lane, towing a trailer. The hitch pin fell out causing the trailer to come loose and strike the right bumper. The trailer then turned on its left side. According to the police report, the trailer was still attached to the SUV with the safety chains, however the hitch pin was missing and the trailer tongue had pulled out. (ohio traffic crash report # 10-0396-90).

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2008

I purchased vehicle new and take extremely good care of my cars. Over the years of owning the truck, all four door handles have fallen off the outside. One fell off the inside. And another door after a repair wouldn't open at all. I recently had my truck in due to the last outside door handle breaking. The service manager proceeded to tell me that I was opening the door wrong, and wasn't I ever inserviced on how to open a door when I bought it? really? I didn't know I needed an inservice, and how is their faulty equipment my fault? three of the 4 doors were under warranty. But after reading that this is a problem, I don't feel I should have had to pay for the forth door.
