1 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. When it rained, water would leak around the sunroof. The water leaked into the side curtain air bag. The dealer stated that the drain hose was not originally installed; therefore, they installed the drain hose and replaced the side curtain air bag. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle downshifted into second gear and began to spin. The check engine light illuminated. After it finished spinning, the vehicle stopped. The contact could not accelerate past 30 mph while driving home. The dealer stated that the range switch in the transmission failed, but the cause of the failure was unknown. The dealer replaced the range switch. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle surged forward. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle would not slow down for 3-4 seconds. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000 and current mileage was 27,850. Updated 4/2/08 updated 04/02/08.
