Remedy for the passenger airbag has taken way too long because of gm fighting it. It is very unsettling and unsafe feeling everytime I drive my affected vehicle. Please remedy soon!.
I saw on tv that there is a recall on the takata airbag. I called 866-982-2339. To see when they could repair. Replace my airbags. They told me that I needed to check with nh tsh. So I am filing a complaint doesn't sound like they want to help me. They gave me the run-around they cut me off four times. I have been on the phone for over an hour with no success.
Waiting on followup to this recall since 2016 but the manufacturer doesn't have a remedy yet for this airbags that pose a safety risk of bursting overtime. My vehicle is my daily driver so I am concerned about this. I saw in the news about this today so am following up on the recalls.
Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags). The contact stated that ryan Cadillac (located at 911 hwy 55, buffalo, mn 55313, (866) 360-6185) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. I have a recall notice but the dealer states that gm says there's nothing wrong with the airbags and refused to replace them! I've written to gm and received a phone call from someone from "customer service" who told me that Cadillac says there's nothing wrong with my air bags. In the meantime my car has a recall which has reflected in such a low trade in value that I can't even sell my car. Now the light is on that says to "service air bags" and Cadillac wants to charge me over $1300 to "service" the air bags they won't replace. Since we live in florida, where it's hot and humid, the conditions make it even more likely that the propellant can degrade and if deployed can cause serious or fatal injury. And since both my husband and I are elderly and disabled, this causes even more concerns.
Nothing happened I want this fixed before it does.

Takata recall: trying to get air bags replaced but gm/Cadillac maintains there are no replacement parts available! I live in high heat, high humidity area and according to reports at severe risk! dealer will not supply a loaner vehicle while waiting on parts!.
Takata recall. What is going on with this recall? my 2008 Cadillac is in limbo as gm drags its feet with petitions to avoid the whole issue. To make matters even worse, I have imported this vehicle into canada and can not register or legally drive it until all of the recalls have been completed. Does any government agency have any power to make an auto manufacturer comply with a recall in a timely manner?this issue with this model has been going on for years with no resolution as yet. Frustrating and very disappointing.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. While driving 5 mph through a parking lot, the driver and passenger frontal air bags deployed without impact or warning. There were no injuries. The contact had to cut out the air bags in order to drive the vehicle. The contact drove to the dealer (flow Cadillac, 1400 s stratford rd, winston salem, nc 27103) and was informed to take the vehicle to the insurance company. The insurance company would not assist since a crash was not involved. The contact drove the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to keep the vehicle at the dealer and they would send someone to investigate the air bag deployment. In the interim, the dealer provided the contact with a loaner vehicle. The vehicle was at the dealer since January 25, 2018. Nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags) was referenced. The failure mileage was 86,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Takata recall I do not want the vehicle. I would like a credit towards a new Cadillac.
Takata recall - have been contacting our dealership several times since receiving the recall notice requesting new airbags. The dealership has been responding that the recall is still not required, that the manufacturer was fighting the recall. We have even stated that we would like to pay for the replacements and get a reimbursement later. Have been told that the parts are not available. Are on a waiting list. Since we were just wanting our free replacements, we were not too concerned about the bankruptcy. Had it on our calendar follow up before 2018. Checked the website today, turns out the deadline was the 27th of December. We don't want to be in a lawsuit. We just want our car to be safe. We even asked that our airbags be disconnected until the parts are available and were told that this is not possible. Any help possible? thank you.
