The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated while driving on the highway at 75 mph, the vehicle unintendedly shut off. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The vehicle suddenly broke down on the road putting my life at risk, resulting into having it towed. Since then the engine light keeps coming on consistently after repairs. It has been consistent visit to the shop without a permanent solution. It has been in the shop for a month and is still in the shop. They’ve been unable to find the problem until they informed me a new engine will be needed. I’ve attached invoices for consistent visit to the shop for the same problem involving the engine and the engine light always on. I have more documents available but I’m unable to upload due to the size but can be presented on request.
I have a 6 month old Escalade with approximately 7,000 miles. On Wednesday, 01/08/2025, I was driving on a highway with my son, going approximately 65 mph when my car display suddenly alerted "going into neutral". I had moments to get to the shoulder before my car stopped. I then turned my car off and attempted to restart it. The engine would not turn on and I could not get the car out of park (not even into neutral). Following an over 4 hour wait to be towed to the nearest Cadillac dealership, when my husband described what had happened, the mechanic asked "how many miles are on it?" when my husband informed him "about 7,000", the mechanic then replied "yeah, that sounds about right. " to me, this infers that Cadillac is aware of this incredibly dangerous problem and has not recalled vehicles to address this. The car has been at the dealership for 4 days now and no diagnostics have been run at this time to see what the issue is. We have called Cadillac directly and there does not seem to be any concern about what happened to me. I honestly am traumatized at the thought of what could have happened to my son and myself had I not acted so quickly. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I am so thankful that I was able to get to the shoulder before my car shut off completely but I easily could have been slammed into many times, as the highway I was driving on frequently has cars traveling 70 to 80 mph. Cadillac must be held accountable for the safety of their drivers, customers and families.

I started my Escalade and 5 minutes later I lost power which as the entire vehicle had no power. So I left it alone for an hour or so in my garage and I started up again and this time didn’t loose power. Everything appeared normal and working again. Than the next day I started it up and I had this popup message sd card has been removed press ok to exit navigation (when no sd card was removed). I also noticed that my backup camera, grid lines, or augmented reality has also intermittently not working on days. It sometimes works as normal and sometimes it does not. The message shows service augmented reality system. The following next day, while I’m cruising on the highway the Escalade shifted into neutral when I was going 75 mph and had no mechanical power. So I pulled over stoped the vehicle and shut it off. Restarted after 15 minutes and it operated normally. I’m worried about safety since it shifted to neutral at highway speed and lost mechanical power, along with other power issues which is extremely dangerous. This vehicle either is a lemon or there is a unknown manufacturing defect and in both cases needs to be replaced due to egregious safety concern.
While traveling down I-95 at 65 mph the truck shut down without warning. Extremely dangerous situation. The Cadillac dealership took the truck in and replaced the entire engine. I requested a buy back but was denied. I spoke to the dealership and gm corporate but neither would consider my buyback request.
