1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2019 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 12/17/2025

I was driving on the freeway on cruise control going 80 mph. All the sudden my speedometer dropped and I had no power. My transmission light started blinking cruise control stopped working and my car started shaking violently and sounded clunky. I had to pull over to the shoulder immediately. I called my mechanic and he told me not to drive it any further so we towed the vehicle to his shop. There was absolutely no warning signs. This was the only sign something was wrong.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 10/28/2025

Having it at four different dealers have not corrected the infotainment screen, adaptive cruise control phantom braking, electrical display issues such as ambient temperature, malfunctioning fuel gauge. Check engine notification was on, they seem to have corrected that, the next notification was service rear axle. Back up camera fails intermittently. I have had it to the dealer nine times, gm won't do a buy back I guess until they are sued. Also, dealer changed the oil to a thicker viscosity due to the engine recall. All the above ongoing for a full year.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 12/10/2024

At the end of 2024, the gps, onstar, and telematics system in my vehicle stopped working completely. This failure disabled critical features including navigation, emergency support (onstar), and super cruise. I was living in California at the time and contacted local service providers, but was told the necessary mobile phone control module was unavailable. After relocating to texas, I took the vehicle to covert Cadillac in austin. The dealership confirmed the issue and ordered the part, but after several months and multiple follow-ups, the part has still not arrived. As of June 2025, the vehicle remains unrepaired, and I continue to drive without gps or emergency support. The dashboard displays a constant gps error. This issue, now lasting over 6 months, puts my safety and the safety of my passengers at risk—especially during long-distance travel and unfamiliar routes. The dealership has acknowledged the problem but cannot resolve it due to ongoing parts unavailability and lack of response from the manufacturer. This is a serious and unresolved safety defect. I am requesting an immediate investigation into gm/Cadillac's failure to provide timely service, support, or resolution for a vehicle-dependent safety system.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 11/22/2024

Driving on a clear sunny day with the cruise control set at 65 mph. With no cars either in front of me or either side my Escalade suddenly did a total panic stop almost causing a crash. While this was happening there was no throttle response and I was unable to gain control of the car my Escalade is in perfect condition, kept immaculately and has only 17,000 miles on it. Taking it to the dealer resulted in no issues found. If I was on an interstate with a tractor trailer behind me this could have a caused a major accident.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 03/14/2024

The vehicle acts like it wants to cut off, and when the lane driving assistance option is activated, it will jump lanes and almost cause an accident.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 08/01/2022

Back in August of 2022 my 2021 Cadillac Escalade started having severe engine roughness, a check engine light, and an error saying that most of the collision safety features had been disabled. I was able to limp the vehicle into a GMC dealer who informed me that Cadillac had received a bad shipment of lifters and that one or more of the lifters had broken. When the vehicle detects an engine problem, it apparently disables most systems in the car. The GMC deal had the car for weeks trying to repair. They told me that Cadillac only authorized replacing 1/2 of the lifters. Since that time, the vehicle has continued to idle very rough ; the rpms fluctuate and power surges at idle and while driving. I have been attempting to reach the Cadillac customer service people, am routinely told that I'll receive a call back "within 2 business days" but never receive a call back. Last week the vehicle died due to a problem with the automatic software update (it completely drained the vehicle). The Cadillac rescue service jumped the battery and told me I had to take it to an actual Cadillac dealer and not the GMC dealer who had performed the initial repair. The vehicle had multiple errors including one that said the abs system needed service. I took the vehicle into the dealer and they charged me for an oil change and 15k mile service. They said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and that the 6. 2l v8 engine was known for having engine roughness and surging problems. A few days later (last Saturday). The check engine light came on and we received a diagnostic text message saying that the engine and transmission required serviced within "1 day. " we called the dealer, and they said to bring it in. I called them this morning and apparently they haven't even looked at it and suggest they will not do so until an appointment they created for 12/30!? is this car safe to drive? can I get it back?.

8 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade

Failure Date: 06/27/2021

I recently purchased a 2021 Cadillac Escalade with supercruise driver assistance system. There have been at least 5 instances where I attempted to turn off the supercruise function and the system does not allow me to regain control of the vehicle. For example, I will turn off the supercruise fuction by hitting the supercruise function on the steering wheel and it will begin to flash red on the steering wheel. I will move the steering wheel slightly to let the system know I am taking control of the vehicle but the vehicle does not recognize my input. The car will start to slow down, turn on the flashers, and announce over the speakers to "take control of the vehicle. " the main issue is that the car will fight me and not allow me to accelerate to keep up with traffic. There are sometimes when supercruise turns off without incident, but my issue stems from when supercruise mistakenly thinks that I am not in control of the vehicle and slows down. Again, I have put my hands back on, I put input into the steering wheel to let it know I'm in control and even tap the brakes. I have contacted Cadillac customer service and have opened a case on June 28, 2021. The case number is 9-680-7138449.
