Warnings Problems of Cadillac Escalade

On February 12, 2026, while driving my 2026 Cadillac Escalade from corpus christi to portland, texas, I encountered a severe safety issue. While driving on the bridge, the engine started making a loud knocking noise and then abruptly stopped working, causing the vehicle to turn off in the middle of traffic. I have only had my vehicle for a total of 55 days, and the mileage on my vehicle is 2,455 miles. This incident highlights a critical motor failure that poses a significant safety risk.

I purchased this vehicle on October 20, 2025. I took it to the Cadillac dealership and was told a list of over 20 issues involving the vehicle. The tires have holes in them. The suspension is at rick of failing, wiring and components are missing. The night vision camera and radars on the vehicle and not functioning. I was told this vehicle should not have been on a lot to be sold.

I was on the highway while cruising with a speed of 65 to 70 mph all of a sudden vehicle started to shake and lost control speed went down to 20mph on the highway check engine light came up foward collision, stability, traction control and engine died started again stall, had to tow the SUV to the dealership.

Engine shut off, misfires, put me on side of road twice. Dealer replaced engine with remanufactured engine, took car home, next day same thing happen, misfired, and put me on side of road again! car been at dealer for 2 months Cadillac refuses to acknowledge.

On 5/8/2024, at approximately 18,969 miles, the vehicle suffered a sudden and complete loss of engine power while driving on the highway in the rain with my family inside. The engine died, the vehicle lost all propulsion creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. Dealer diagnosis revealed a catastrophic crankshaft main bearing failure, requiring a full engine replacement. Since the engine repair, the vehicle has exhibited persistent intermittent/unintended brake activation. The brakes engage without driver input causing "service brake" messages, excessive and premature brake pad/rotor wear (replaced three times in a matter of months due to heat and dust from repeated activation), grinding, squealing, and locked caliper incidents. The vehicle has been inspected by two Cadillac dealerships without any remedy except replacing warranty parts. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and confirmed the issue is likely related to the advanced driver assistance systems. To drive safely, we must disable the collision avoidance and traction control features. This has been reported on multiple repair orders and matches complaints from other 2023-2025 Escalade and gm SUV owners. Total documented downtime since first failure exceeds 160+ calendar days. Problems remained unresolved despite warranty repairs, software updates, recalls, and the l87 engine replacement. The sudden engine failure endangered my family and the ongoing phantom braking creates risk of collision or loss of control, especially at highway speeds. I have been forced to disable critical safety systems to prevent unintended braking. This vehicle is directly affected by the l87 defect that prompted federal recall and investigations. Please include my complaint in the ongoing ea25007 and rq26001 investigations and consider my case in any further actions regarding the adequacy of gm's remedies. Right front wheel fell off, traction control system and forward collision system were disabled, leaving me stranded on i75.

I had my 2021 Cadillac Escalade esv vehicle service twice at the dealership of purchase regarding the vehicle gear shifting on it’s on and dragging. The service advisor said they couldn’t find a problem with the vehicle. He told bring it back if it does it again. 2/11/24 the problem occurred twice in one day. I thought maybe I had bumped it out of gear inadvertently. I started looking down every time I touched the gear shift to assure it was the correct setting. I booked appointment service via my phone 2/11/24 for 2/13/24 service. I was at the car wash drive thru 2/12/24 my vehicle was in neutral coming off the conveyor belt. As I attempted to pressed the shift toggle to change gear my vehicle made a weird noise . I never got the chance to shift to drive. Grinding pulling noise like it was stuck. My vehicle shot forward like something catapulted. My vehicle hit another vehicle before hitting a wall. My air front air bag never deployed. The collision avoidance did not engage or signal. I don’t understand how a vehicle can shift it self in and out of gear on its own. If I’m doing 25 mile the vehicle shouldn’t make rpm act like I’m doing 100. Also if I’m doing 70 mile the vehicle should not shift down while pressing the gas pedal. Had they listened to me and took what I was saying seriously this would have never happened. I have had multiple issues with my forward collision system on my 2022 Escalade. The system randomly fails, alerts of vehicles in front of me without vehicles there, and has even slammed on the brakes while in cruise control on the highway. There was no one in front of me; however, there were people behind me when the brakes slammed. This could easily have caused an accident. I requested the vehicle be fixed and multiple sensors were replaced. The vehicle still alerted that the system was inoperative after getting it "fixed. " the dealer came to the house, drove the vehicle, and then turned off the automatic braking system to prevent an accident or further problems.
