Cadillac Escalade owners have reported 27 problems related to seats (under the seats category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Cadillac Escalade based on all problems reported for the Escalade.
The driver seat has randomly started moving while driving most recently moving further back away from the steering wheel making it difficult to reach the break and gas. Which is severely dangerous since I was on a busy roadway. Sometimes the seat also goes completely forward also making it difficult as I’m literally pushed against the steering wheel. All times when I go try to adjust the seat after these kind of incidents I have to keep messing with the side buttons because they don’t want to work right away. The most recent incident was on may 11, 2025 the driver seat moved back away from the steering wheel as well as the back part of the seat moved back into a reclining position all while driving.

In all videos I checked for issues with the heated and cooled seats I saw that one of the connectors to the circuit board we're starting to melt the connector. Upon removing mine, the same issue is shown and could potentially be fatal if it continues to melt and catch fire.
Airbag light came on while we took a trip to big bear with friends, technician discovered the connectors under the front passenger seat were melted, got the connectors changed, airbag module replaced, airbag light is still on. I own a rental company and I'm not able to rent the vehicle due to the passenger airbag recall for the past year, and gm won't do anything about it. This recall needs to be performed.
Takata recall---2007 Cadillac Escalade, stability light control comes on and off. Also triggers my engine light to stay on. Traction control light stays on as well. I have replace the timing chain, cam shaft, oil pressure sensor, new shocks, new compressor, and I keep the oil changed. Even the Cadillac dealer has went thru and thru this vehicle replacing all this stuff and thousands of dollars later, to still doing the same thing and they even said they have no clue of why it keeps doing this. I have had nothing but problem after problems with this Cadillac and something needs to be recalled to fix these issues not on the owners pocket. On gm's pocket. This vehicle is enough alone without having to continue sinking money after money it is to just try and fix this issue. Very disappointed in Cadillac's and this is my 2 one, but probably my last one because who wants to fork out 80,000 for a new one, to continue forking out with issues. These issues severely needs a recall before it takes peoples lives. Soon as these lights come on, and you give it gas, if feels like the transmission is going to fall out in the road. Jerks you everywhere. This is a daily problem, not just a one time issue.

Using remote start caused the heated seats to burn out. There was an odor of electrical burning. The control module under the passenger seat has visible signs of burning or burnt out. This is a very common problem and there should be a recall as this is clearly a fire hazard. Vehicle was stationary and remote start used.
Heated seat module and wiring melted. Fire concerns. Many vehicles affected.

Connector to seat control module located under passenger seat shorted out and melted without fuse interruption. Melted connector found when heated seat function stopped working. Several vehicle forums and youtube videos describe same experience and potential "fixes". Others report this overheating is initiated during remote starting. Gm should resolve this connector design problem and repair even if out of warranty due to potential fire hazards.
The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Escalade. While driving 65 mph, rear passenger seat became hot and caught on fire. The contact was able to pull over and extinguish the fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not destroyed, only the seat. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 232,000.

I was informed by a gm dealer that there was a "bulletin" affecting these vehicles that have the issue of the seat warmers and cooling system to malfunction. I was told that the module needs to be replaced and the harness was "fryed", leading me to believe that there was an electrical problem which to me sounds as though a fire or some burning event occurred. The repair cost was $990 and I called gm for assistance. I was told that yes, in fact there was a bulletin on these vehicles however mine was not included. Sounds to me as though there is a potential serious issue here that could cause a fire or other problem for other owners who are not part of the "bulletin". In terms of describing the problem, the seat heating and cooling just stopped working although the lights indicating they were working were still illuminated.
Escalade having same issues as everyone els. Oil pressure due to poor build and cut backs on general motors behalf. A unit with a price up words of $70-$80k should not have the issues. We as the customers and the victomes should not pay the price and our own lives (families lives) for a companies selfishness. Passenger seat controle module burnt due to yet another faulty gm product. They seam to not care and want to fix the issues that can again lead to harm to anyone in and around the vehicle. I still own this vehicle but it has been a utter disgrace of what kind of products we have been sold. To this day would like to know why the company recalls parts that would cousy them nickels and dimes and not the major items that can lead to disasters like death. For crying out loud they replaced my DE others dash. . . (dash). So replace a plastic dash that has no harm what so ever and OH don't mined if you truck catches on fire do to faulty modules. Shame how gm has let a company like Toyota who actually listens to the costumes seem like a more patriotic company and keeps their customers safe on the roads. Thank you for your time, now it's time for action. I still drive the truck everyday and pray I don't die every time .
Takara recall: in 2015 my Cadillac Escalade was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which the airbag deployed and exploded with a bunch of smoke and awful smell in the air and some debris. The vehicle was in motion in hit a midsize Honda accord head on. I was traveling straight on a city street. I was faulted since I was reaching for my gps navigation device that had fallen on the floor. The cause for the malfunction to me is unknown. I was definitely injured in the accident but I only had liability insurance at the time and it only covered the other party since I was faulted. Recall date:may 27, 2016 manufacturer recall number:2049151.
I seen another person said that she had problems with her heated and cooling seats I'm have the same exact problem and wanted to know if there are alot of complaints why is not a recall?.
The drivers heated seat button turns off and on when pushed but this time it stayed on, it over heated and it burnt a small hole in the seat as I was driving. . . The passenger heated seat does the same but did not burn hole . . .

Heated seats not working. After doing some research online I found out that Escalade's are prone to melted wire connections on the ccsm under the passenger seat. Mine has the exact same problem as described by many other Escalade owner's. Why has this not been recalled? this could pose a very serious interior fire risk.
First I would like to note that this is the second time this issue has occurred. That being said you can understand why a person would be frustrated when they dish out an estimated 700 dollars for repairs only to be facing the same issue no more than a year later. The problem is with gm's heated seat design. This is not an isolated issue; doing a quick search will bring several forum threads with users reporting the same issues. With the current status of gm in regards to failure to act on potential fire hazards, it's no surprise that they are turning a blind eye here. They are fully aware of the issue and will not take the time to find the root cause. Several users have reported reoccurring issues even after the "fire hazard" has been fixed/replaced by the dealer at the owners expense. This issue happens when I use the auto start feature in cold whether. I live in minnesota and the temperatures get rather cold, it's really nice to use this feature whenever possible, however, when using the auto start in cold weather, several users as well as myself have reported that this is what is causing the melting wires due to resistance issues relating to the cold weather. The wires under the passenger seat get so hot that you can actually smell it burning as well as visually see the burn damage upon inspecting the control unit which is under the passenger seat. The scariest part of it all is that no fuse will trip during this hazardous process. The wire will simple melt to the point where it will no longer make a good contact and then "hopefully" quit working without causing additional damage. It's only a matter of time before a report comes in of a vehicle burning to the ground, hopefully no one will be hurt because of gm's failure to act "again". Either way, if it does, I will be contacting the news and supplying them this submission as proof that a complaint was filed.
The contact owns a 1999 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that while parked, another vehicle crashed into the rear end of the vehicle causing the front driver seat to fracture. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,409.

The heated seat had stopped working. The heated/cooled seat module located under the passenger seat had a burnt connector. It looked like it could have easily started a fire. This seems to be a common problem as the technician at the dealer said he has seen this same problem many times.
December 2009 while driving,,, the heated seating coil caught on fire, burning the seat from the inside out and also burning my leg.
The driver seat has a short in it. When I push the forward button on the seat, it now goes in reverse.
Lighting we own two Escalades from 2008 and have the same exact problem in both cars. Condensation in the headlights and burn them out we were quoted $1,000 for each headlight to fix min!!! heated seats are out in both trucks rims are pitted and pealing. Have had a problem with the rims weeks after rolling out of the showroom so disappointed.
While driving I leaned back on the seat and the lower left front of seat pulled up abruptly, it caused me to almost have an accident. When I checked out what had happened , the seat track that attaches the bottom of the seat to the glide rails pulled through the bolt and snapped off. I have contacted gm about replacement , they said they will get back to me . The part needs to be replaced with a new one.
Dealer has welded the driver's seat to the frame in four different places. In addition, the vehicle has has several major problems. Please provide further detail.
