Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings Problems of Cadillac Seville

Fuel line is leaking and can cause a fire. There was a recall on this part in 1993. There saying there is no open recall on the fuel lines. The description of the recall in 1993 is exactly what is going on with my fuel lines. Its spraying fuel out of one of the lines by the engine.

The contact owns a 1996 Cadillac Seville. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 04v110000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings) for a fuel leak but the failure recurred. The vehicle was leaking gasoline onto the ground from the engine compartment, which the contact was concerned could possibly cause a fire. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 150,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The contact owns a 1999 Cadillac Seville. The contact smells gasoline whenever the vehicle is started. He discovered that a fuel rail was leaking on the number one cylinder. The dealer stated that there were no open recalls. The current mileage was 62,640 and failure mileage was 62,540. Updated 07/29/08 the fuel rail cracked just above the cylinder #1. Nhtsa recall campaign number: 04v110000 fuel rail leak Cadillac refuses to replace the leaking fuel rail. They inspected the car on 9/13/2004, and at that time there was no evidence of a leak. Now, there is a leak, and they refuse to replace the fuel rail with the new stainless steel fuel rail. They have stated they have no obligation to reinspect the vehicle. I read lin foster (from Cadillac at 800-333-4223) the NHTSA bulletin "the recalled Cadillacs will receive the new stainless steel fuel rails," and he continued to state that Cadillac had no responsibility to inspect the vehicle twice. The dealership will no repair the vehicle unless there is an open "service campaign" and Cadillac refuses to open a service campaign stating the vehicle has been looked at once, and that is all that they have a duty to do. The recall has not been performed and the fuel rail is leaking.

With the engine turned off, the contact inspected under the hood and discovered the fuel rail and return line tubing was cracked and spraying large amounts of gasoline in the engine compartment. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. 'recall campaign' Cadillac Seville 1996 for fuel rail and return line. When the consumer completed his 60 mile trip, she noticed she had lost about 8 gallons of gas in that one trip. When the consumer exited the vehicle, there was a smell of gas. The consumer contacted the dealer and was informed of a recall, however after the dealer inspected the vehicle the consumer was told that the particular gas line she was having problems with was not apart of the recall. While driving 75 mph the vehicle stalled. Recall campaign: 04v110000. The consumer stated that the service prior to the recall notice had nothing to do with maintenance of the vehicle. The consumer stated that as soon as the recall repair was completed the vehicle ran perfectly. Reimbursement requested by the consumer.

Consumer has a concern about smelling gas fumes when exiting his parked vehicle. Consumer inspected the vehicle and saw fuel spraying onto the manifold from the fuel rail. Dealer was notified. Please provide any further information.

The consumer reported an on-going problem with fuel leaking from the fuel rail injector assembly. The vehicle has been repaired on five separate occasions by the dealer please provide any further information.

While driving the consumer noticed a strong fuel odor. Recall# 04v110000.

I would also like to bring to your attention the fact that the fuel filter is located on the right side of the frame just inches from the front bumper. I strongly feel that this needs imediate attention. Also, my seatback broke immediataly after impact which rendered my shoulder harness useless.
