general problems of the 2011 Cadillac SRX

I received a flyer that my Cadillac was included in the urgent rear toe link safety recall, so I took it to the local Cadillac dealership in ridgeland, ms. My 2011 Cadillac Srx had the same warnings on my dashboard that were included in the flyer that I received. The warning lights and message were service stabilitrak, and my car chimed in combination with the message and the lights stayed on while I drove. When at the dealership, I was told that they were locating the part, and would let me know if they were able to service my car that day. Not long afterwards, I was told that they were able to locate the part and my car could be serviced today for the rear toe link safety recall. The shuttle took me home a while later and once I received a call back from the dealership that my car was ready for pick up, I returned back to the dealership. I then received my key and paperwork at the checkout counter and my car was driven back to me. The car was still on so I drove it back home, parked in my garage and turned it off. After 30 minutes, I started my vehicle and the same warning lights and message to service the stabilitrak, as well as the chiming were still on my dashboard as if the part was never replaced. When I spoke with the dealership service representative and the service manager later on, both men told me that the message warnings on my car and on the flyer about the rear toe link safety recall had nothing to do with the rear toe link safety recall. They said that I would have to pay a diagnostic fee to determine the cause for the message/chimes which could be other things. None of this information was on my checkout paperwork or discussed with me when I picked up my car that same day. At this point, I don't trust the information told to me over the phone and I don't trust if I pay for a diagnostic test, they would be honest to say that it was because of the safety recall. I'm questioning the actual service or if the part was replaced at all.

Onstar(r) vcim draining my battery, it’s not my battery or alternator and already replaced connections too. I have a recall sample that was sent out 04/15/2013 bulletin no 11-08-44-003a.

Squeaking noises in the front end sounds like rubbing also when you were at a stop and you turn the wheel from left to right sounds like a rubbing noise just purchased vehicle at the end of summer used started during the winter.

The sunroof drain tubes become plugged and if you can actually find someone to fix the error, its horribly expensive. Water enters the vehicle, causing mold on the back seat floors. This issue has also shorted out my trunk release consistent with other individuals reports and when manually released, via the inside hidden panel, it sparks, which is dangerous and shouldnt happen. After a heavy rain, entering the vehicle sounds like a waterfall all around you from inside. I have to constantly keep moisture absorbers inside of my vehicle in a futile attempt to solve the issue.

This information is addition to the accident, that I reported few days ago. Nhtsa tracking number 11458264. I was involved in car accident on highway i90. My car drove in to concreate barrier and was struck from back by another car. Air bag in my car did not deploy. My head hit steering wheel. I have broken nose. I will need surgery.

When it rains my trunk fill with water where my spare tire is without any windows or sun roof being open .

It’s doing everything they said it would when I need to stop driving it due to recall.

I'm stationed in stuttgart, germany. I received a recall notice in August 2021 and again in November 2021 and reached out to Cadillac to find out how to resolve this issue. I was told that someone from Cadillac would contact me. I received another notice November 2022 due to the recall not being resolved. I'm not getting a response from Cadillac. How do I resolve this issue being stationed overseas? I'm not scheduled to return until February 2025 and the government will not ship a vehicle if there are any recall notices on the vehicle. The gm safety recall is n212340980. Requesting assistance in resolving this recall notice. Thank you.

This vehicle has a design flaw with sunroof which leaks water into the car from floor board passenger side. Sunroof drain lines undersized even for a standard sized sunroof. As of result of this, the drain lines, at best are barely adequate for light rain and intense rain cloggs and rain enters the car. I have taken to dealer twice paid $651. 00 repair and not fixed. Dealer should have correct information to repair the drain issue. Cadillac of novi, service manager will not return phone calls. Very poor service for a luxury product.

My drains for my sun roof are not working, water all on passenger floor, mechanic said there was a recall on this some years ago and was wondering if the recall was still active ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

The trunk of my car is not accessible. One day the key fob stopped working. The button on the door gives no access as well. I've heard there was once a recall on this issue but it has expired. I have no access to my spare tire!! how can a recall expire!.

I have complained to Cadillac about my headlights having condensation which leads to them intermittently turning off. It's illegal to drive without headlights at night in wa state and it's dangerous. On 2/28/20, Cadillac sent me a letter acknowledging that's the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Srx may experience issues that could cause moisture to accumulate in their headlamps capsule and cause halogen headlights to become dimmer over time. They state in the letter that they will only reimburse up to $1,600 for the repair. The repair is $2,600. Then they said the claim form has to be submitted by may 28, 2020. None of the dealerships have the headlights because they are on back orders. They told me they may not get the headlights by that time. In other states lawsuits have been filed where Cadillac did not win. In those lawsuits it was noted that Cadillac was aware of this defect and ignored it. I'm asking that you please order Cadillac to issue a recall. It's the right thing to do and it's a safety concern.

There is water all over the floor of my 2011 Cadillac Srx luxury edition and its from the sunroof. The water got into my electrical and now my trunk won't open and the floors won't dry. The vehicle was parked.

Left gate will open from any tke key ot inside or the latch with touch.

Head lights get moister in housing and fill balast up with water sorts out head light safty hazard.

My liftgate became inoperable. It was working fine since I've had the vehicle. Then we had a bad storm and for some reason water got thru the liftgate somehow and now has standing water in the well under the storage ara, as well as, in the storage compartment on the side. This water has now caused my liftgate to stop working because it flooded my liftgate control module. This is causing a big inconvenience because I can't use my liftgate, and have to spend money on something that is a known and running issue with this local vehicle.

I was involved in an accident, I ran into a vehicle the damage was to the front of the car . The airbags didnt deploy or the sensors of the front of my car did not go off either.

Rain water drains in car after every rain and water drains into the car after going through a car wash. I went to dealer about this problem while car was under warranty. They said there was a recall for this problem and when I picked up the car they said they fixed it. Soon after that the problem was back and has only gotten worse. My car smells moldy, the backup camera has quit working, the bluetooth module stopped working and I'm constantly vacuuming water out of this piece of junk car. This is a serious moisture problem. I've gone back to the dealer and they want $400. 00 to fix the leak and $1000 to replace the electronics. These problems are not of my making and after all the money I paid for this car you would think gm would take ownership of this problem. I shouldn't have to pay for a fix that I don't even know would be permanent based on previous repair. This problem has been ongoing for more than a year and is getting progressively worse. This is a hazardous vehicle to drive.

The hatch back door will open when you exit or enter the vechile on its on, sitting still.

My service air bag and moisture in my right headlight the assembly is out due to the moisture in the headlight assembly. Causing me not able to see at night the cost is $1600+ tax. Who has that type of money like that. Cadillac need to have a recall on that and the seat belt.

While driving down the street just after exiting the freeway both side and driver airbags deployed and abruptly shut car off impacting my ability to steer and brake. No crash no accident no exterior damage.

My sunroof has had leaky drains on both sides and caused over $3,000 in repairs. I believe the 2012 was recalled but not the 2011. It stopped my car from driving appropriately, the trunk would no longer open, and the car alarm to alert for robbery of the vehicle while driving. This caused me to have to replace my pumps on the driver side of the car and the computer / electrical system. This repair cost close to $2,000. Then about 14 months later; the passenger side sunroof leak occurred and caused flooding on the passenger side of my car. This led to mold and a clean of the car to allow me to breath in my car. This repair cost over $1,000.

Drainage tubes in cars with sunroofs are clogging and shorting out the lift gate module which could cause other electrical problems or possible a meltdown or fire. . I bought one module and the dealership bought the second one this week. Since this occurred within the first 30 days I owned the car, luckily the dealership covered it. Cadillac refuses to admit the design is poor and will not help consumers with the costs associated with repairs (per the conversation I had with them today) if you look on youtube or other sites for Cadillac owners, you will see how many Srx's it involves. It's well over $500 to have this repaired depending upon the dealership/price of module/labor costs. Please consider a recall. Thank you.

The tail gate will open when the button is pressed but unexpectedly falls striking anyone in the head when putting something in the back end or taking out of the backend. Because the struts fail that hold the gate open. This is the same type of recall as 15v415000 that was issued 6/30/2015 for the GMC acadia, chevy traverse, Saturn outlook, Buick enclave that was manufactured during the same period as the Srx. This started last year but the dealer said I would have to take care of it even though it failed fairly early in the cars life.

Water is getting into the head lights on both sides of my car.

My 2011 Cadillac on Feb 8 @016 went put in park and went to get out of it jump in reverse I fell got try put in park in steal it went in to drive pull with car in car wash and I got pen between the door and car frame. Plus in car wash it crush me went the arm of car wash pen me between the arm on car wash and my door an frame of the car. I contact gm motor about this and they said pay medical and to have car fix. Now they said no. It not there fault. Why did I go to all trouble to get medical number tell me the going pay.

While putting groceries in the back of the Srx the power lift gate came down without warning and hit me in the back. I was able to hit the button and open the gate back up. After about 10 seconds or so it came back down. It will not stay open.

The vehicle's sunroof drain hose material shrinks due to changing environmental conditions. This results in the drain hoses detaching from the dash or sunroof module. Water leaks into the vehicle damaging interior components including wiring, electronic modules, the sound deadener and carpet. This happens every time it rains or through car washes.

I was driving on highway when I heard a sound like an object hitting the car. The sunroof began to shatter. There was no one around who may have hit the car or sunroof. Updated 09/15/lj.

2011 Cadillac Srx parked and turned off. However due to fact no alarm sounds to notify driver the car is not in park , car remained in drive and started to roll backwards while on a hill endangering the individuals exiting the vehicles.

I have noticed slow shifting to higher gear almost from day one. It is most noticeable when driving down hill and approaching red traffic light and decelerating, then light turn green and I want to accelerate and I notice hesitation ( disengagement ) to a degree that my upper body actually moves forward. That hesitation or delay is dangerous when I am entering expressway and I need to accelerate quickly, to escape fast approaching semi-truck. I mentioned that issue to the dealer I purchased Srx from and my regular servicing dealer but each time I am told that is the way this transmission is. With re-call involving 2013 Srx for this problem, I believe previous models 2-11 and 2012 should be included because it is dangerous at times.
