I had baker Cadillac dealership to perform the toe-link recall as well as a multi-point vehicle inspection on may 28, 2025. This is for a 2012 Cadillac Srx-3. 6 luxury collection [VIN: [xxx]] that I was going to purchase for my [xxx] daughter pending the inspection results. Because Cadillac technicians performed the inspection and nothing major was flagged, I purchased the car for my daughter. That evening, I was driving the car to fill up with gas, and the brakes completely cut out! I talked to a friend who knows more about cars than I do, told me the brakes cutting out was likely a result of the recall repair needing to reset to the proper values. I didn't think too much of it after that until 5 days ago when I was on [xxx] driving at 70 mph, the brakes completely cut out again. The road was wet and they cut out as I was exiting off an interstate overpass onto a ramp which circles back toward the direction I was coming from that ultimately feeds onto the road underneath the exit. I fishtailed side to side the entire length of that ramp that has no barriers at a lethal speed which could’ve killed me! if my daughter would've been driving, the outcome would’ve likely been fatal! I contacted the dealership who performed the recall installation and the multi point inspection and told them everything that happened. I wanted answers as to why this wasn't caught during inspection, what exactly caused that to happen twice in less than 10 days, and what needs to be fixed to prevent this from ever happening again. I paid firestone to perform a comprehensive test on abs and they could not replicate the issue, so they couldn't do anything to fix it as everything appeared to be fine. No system lights came on or anything. I have since learned that this is far from an isolated issue; in fact, this is quite a scary pattern with the 2012 Srx 3. 6. My car was parked and in the park gear it was left running I went to get in the car to turn it off to stay awhile where I was at I got one leg in the car and reached over to push the button to turn it off and it lurched backwards and rolled over me and almost cut my leg off it kept rolling another good 200 ft or more before it stopped and it was still in the park position I read where there's a recall on the transmission on this car but I was injured very badly in this incident I do not know what happened because the car was in park and should not have rolled when I turned it off but it did and rolled over me and knock me down and cut my legs severely.
Recently the liftgate has closed unexpectedly several times while items were being unloaded/loaded from the rear of the vehicle. This caused the user to be struck by the liftgate. Someone smaller or weaker, such as a child could potentially be trapped and injured since the blockage detect function apparently fails at the same time. It has also opened on it's own while the operator was away from the vehicle and out of range of the key fob. Apparently, this is a common issue with the panoramic roof in many Cadillac models leaking water into the rear storage area of the vehicle. The control module becomes immersed in water and begins to perform unreliably, eventually failing complete as it becomes more wet. No warning tones or lamps are activated.
My headlights are so dim, I have to drive with high beams. It is raining in my, short circuited the trunk, will not open and my bearings have to be replaced. Sounds like a truck. Ughhhh, imy first and last american made car.
I bought a 2012cadillac about a month agoand was told by the dealer that there was no recalls on this car,but when I personally ran the VIN number,it says this car has been recalled and I need to stop driving it because it's dangerous for me to be driving it because it could cause me to crash. This dealer ship also, grossly overcharged me, charging me "several thousand dollars more than the actual listed price". This car also floods my driver side and passenger side floors eachtime it rains. The water is coming in via my sunroof, which is causing my car to smell, and consequently gonna rot out my floor, and perhaps damage my electrical system and god only knows what other damage this water is doing to the integrity of my car. The dealer had me take my car to his mechanic who told me the problem was fixed which was a lie, because two days after he allegedly fixed the water problem, it rained and when I got in my car to go to an appointment. . . My floors were flooded with water again. The dealer who I bought the car from-"arrow motors",told me to take it back to his mechanic. Between this leaking sunroof, and the recall I just found out about. . . I am really upset that this dealer sold me this car that is clearly defective and very unsafe and charged me $17,000. I feel like this guy lied to me and took advantage of me, I asked him several times if there was a recall on this car and he looked me in the eyes and said no. I also asked him if there was anything wrong with this car and again he looked me in the eyes and said no. He had to have known about the recall, and about the problem with the sunroof leaking water inside the car. I only had this car for a month and spent all my money to buy it, but with the current issues, I feel it's not safe for me drive, and poses a serious risk to others too. P. S. Is there anyway I can get my money back,or sue them?.
There is a recall on my vehicle and gm has advised they can't or won't be able to fix it in a timely manner.
Low vision head lights are not bright enough for night driving have to use high beams?.
I was taking things out of my reach hatch, and it suddenly fell on me without warning, hurting my back and almost trapping me, if my wife was not present, I could not have lifted the hatch . My chest and back hurt and I could have suffocated.
A letter was sent to me by Cadillac related to headlights that got moisture in them and became cloudy. It said they would pay to have this fixed for 1 or both headlights whether the problem had happened or not yet. I had just paid $1,600. 00 to have 1 headlight replaced due to this very problem. The letter said I would be reimbursed if I had already paid to fix problem. I brought car and letter to my Cadillac dealership garland Cadillac at 972-840-4100. I showed them everything and they said they did not use the parts to fix my car that were listed on the letter to me. I asked for a copy of my bill with the parts they used on it so I could call Cadillac and got that. When I later looked in my paperwork the letter Cadillac sent me was missing, presumably kept by the dealership when I was there. I know due to covid everything was extended as far as time frames. I need help with having another copy of the letter sent to me, having the the dealership reimburse me for the repair of the 1 headlight, and in case the 2nd headlight develops an issue being able to go back to the dealership to have it fixed. If they did not use the appropriate parts to fix my initial headlight repair I am not sure what to do with that. The repair has been fine, done March of 2018. No accident has happened.
The power liftgate on my 2012 Cadillac Srx dropped (closed) all by itself with no warning while I was putting groceries in to the cargo storage area. It came down very hard hitting my neck and shoulder and knocked me to the ground. I had used the power button on the key fob while standing in the parking lot near the back of the car. The gate went up normally but just as I bent over to put things in, the gate came back down on me. I made an appointment with a dealer today to have it looked at but wanted to report this in hopes of sparing someone else from more serious injury in the future. I don't have any documentation to submit today but may have after my dealer appointment which is 3-17-20.
Seal on the back-up camera is broken allowing moisture and fog to greatly blur image. The dealer said it will cost $502 to repair. This is certainly a safety issue. Do not know why this happened as the image just keep getting worse while driving on city streets.
The low beam headlight lens is frosted over preventing headlights from projecting light at night. I have other vehicles flash lights at me on approach. I was warned on a recent trip to new mexico, but did not get a tecket for not having headlights. Local gm/Cadillac dealer told me that they could not do anything. I dont drive at night as no low beam headlights. I bought and replaced with stronger low beam bulbs, but this did not help. Please issue a cs ease and desist stopping Cadillac sales in the us until this safet defect is corrected.
Power lift gate opens and then automatically closes. It cannot be stopped and will pin you in the lift gate if you do not get out of the way. 05/0.
1. Low beams head lights very weak had the lens buffed and polished but this only help a little. Having to use high beams when driving at night on single and two lane roads. Very unsafe night driving. 2. Rear tail gate closes automatically after being opened for about 2 seconds, this action is subject to cause injury to persons using the rear gate to store or remove items from vehicle. Both issues occur whether vehicle is stationary or in motion. I see there is no recall issued for these safety issues but in my opinion there should have. I am submitting this on the behalf of my daughter . I entered a date because the digital form required it but these issues have been going on for quite some time now, not sure of the first occurrence. Thanks for any help concerning this safety issue. Charles perkins.
Opened rear gate hatch and reached into vehicle. Rear gate abruptly started closing on its own pinning me in the vehicle. Hatch was pressed against my upper back and upper right arm as I was trying to get out of the way. Hatch would not stop closing and continually kept banging my body until I could slither out from underneath it and then it forcefully slammed shut. I am a senior female and was pinned faced down "very scary". I called local Cadillac dealer and brought the vehicle in within a half hour. They took it in immediately, no questions asked and replaced the right strut. I inquired if there should be any type of safety features or sensors to prevent from hatch closing on you and they stated no. Next day later I am very bruised and sore.
I was loading items in the back with the lift gate open when it suddenly began to close and hit me but continued to close, retracting only after about 5 seconds and a physical battle between me and the gate. I received a bruise on my arm from the battle and saw my life flash before my eyes. The car was off and stationary in my yard. It was the most frightening experience of my life!.
The headlight has condensation and low beam which is a safety hazard.
The headlight assembly has condensation and the low beam light is barely visible at night this is a safety hazard.
Vehicle is parked (stationary) and when it rains water does not clear through sunroof drain hose, resulting in water leaking onto floorboards on front passenger side, into trunk area and liftgage, and backup camera and liftgate electrical shorts-out. This has been happening since vehicle was new and each time it requires repair, dealer claims the sunroof was left open during a rainstorm.
Rear lift gate slammed closed while putting items in trunk. Had replaced but was told my vehicle was not a recall.
Car is parked. Rear lift gate will not stay open. Opens then closes erratically. Could cause bodily harm if a person gets caught in the wild swing of the lift gate. The cause could be an electrical control module. My dealership keeps telling me there is a recall pending but this problem began two years ago and is still ongoing. I am not able to use the lift gate of this vehicle for fear of bodily harm. Please notify me when a recall has been issued.
The vehicles lights on the low beam are so low you can't see at night. Have researched and asked Cadillac and they know there is a problem and will not correct it or recall it.
Vehicle was parked in a driveway with a slight slant. Rear hatch was opened and we were unloading vehicle. Vehicle was in park and turned off. Approximately 5-10 minutes after exiting the vehicle, we went back outside to remove items from the rear. The vehicle started rolling away (tires turning, not a slide). A person in the group was able to catch it and jumped in the driver's door and applied the brake. Service dept reports they can find nothing wrong. I'm grateful we were able to catch it otherwise, someone could have been injured while unloading the rear or it could have rolled away and crashed while we were in the house.
Pushed button to raise the rear hatch and hatch raised to the upper limit then quickly swung down , up to the full open position , swung down and up again wildly on its own and finally slamming closed with-enough force that it was unstoppable. . . . . Would have crushed a pet or child. There was no obstruction safety stop whatsoever.
Loss of air pressure , no apparent damage, puncture or visible cause . Same michelin tire will lose 2-3 # over one week of driving . Dealership checked twice, tire company thoroughly checked and concluded leak may be caused during the manufacture of the tire and or the rubber compound. Air pressure must be checked weekly and brought up to recommended pressure,35 psi .
The hatchback began closing on my husband while he was loading the trunk. It didn't stop until I pushed the button. He could have been crushed if I wasn't there. I can't imagine what would have happened if a child was there. Very dangerous!.
I opened the rear lift gate from inside the car . I had just parked curbside at my 13 year old daughter's school , as I do each school day morning to drop her off . As she leaned in the back cargo space to pull out her back pack and lunch box the cargodoor started to close on its own on my daughter . Neither of us had pressed the button . I was unaware at first as I was in the front seat facing forward , I heard her scream and was watching in horror as she was being crushed by the door between the door and her bag and the cargo compartment . I did not understand why the door did not treverseand was unsure in that split second if I pressed the button would it reverse the door or crush her further . I also was unaware if I had enough time to jump out of the car, run to the back . To try to pull the door up . This came close to being a catastrophe. If my daughter was smaller or younger or in a different position . She is bruised and I am really concerned a car is on themarket like this . I saw other complaints like mine on line today after this happened . The dealership is being less than helpful not to mention . My car has locked me out twice with the keyless entry after the car was unlocked . It relocked . The navigation and bluetooth toss me reguarly . I think this car has a wiring issue on top of the lace of safty with the back gate,.
