Two incidents of the same failure, although a few years apart. Vehicle placed in "park" (foot on the brake, which is necessary in order to shift into p); when brake pedal released, vehicle suddenly revs and lurches forward. First time, in garage, and so minor damage except to items in garage; second time 3/7/2025, totaled this vehicle plus major damage to another vehicle.

2013 Srx recently purchased 11/2021 all recalls performed after trying to accelerate display goes black dials bottom out I hear engine revving up but no acceleration, could have been rear ended, dealer replaced rear diff clutch control module, lr upper control link, both front lower control arms, now I am experiencing a bump hard shift.
I called on August 25 to get my Cadillac serviced at the luxury automall in sioux falls, sd. I had been experiencing toe link issues (service stabilitrak error message and jerking and swaying from the back end). I was bounced around from operators at the dealership before being told I wouldn’t be able to be seen until sept. 14th (20 days later) and that I should stop driving the vehicle. I work over 50 miles away from my office and told the person I spoke to that it wasn’t an option for me to stop driving the vehicle because I need my source of income to support myself. I also informed them that I don’t have any other form of transportation and asked if I could get a loaner vehicle until they could check out my vehicle. I was told they wouldn’t be able to provide me a loaner vehicle until my vehicle was inspected and deemed unsafe to operate. So I continued driving my vehicle. I’ve probably put close to 2000 miles on my vehicle since the phone call with Cadillac. Needless to say my transmission went out Friday at a very low mileage. Cadillac is refusing to help me and I feel like I wouldn’t need an entire new transmission had the Cadillac dealer not made me wait nearly 3 weeks to be seen. My toe link is also busted. Now I’m looking at spending $5500 on a vehicle I can’t even drive due to Cadillacs negligence plus I’m now on the hook for a rental vehicle while I’m still making payments on the Cadillac I cannot even drive. How do you expect people to survive when I’m getting quoted over $1800 for 4 weeks of a rental car while I wait for my vehicle to get fixed - most places cannot get a transmission for 3-4 weeks. I’m being quoted $7000 (which is more than I make in 2 months) because Cadillac blew me off had they checked my vehicle before the transmission went out they may have prevented me from needing a new transmission. They knowingly let me drive an unsafe vehicle with no regards to my safety.
Vehicle has a recall id. Recall 21v473. Advised by dealer for Cadillac not to drive or operate vehichle, however gm does not have parts to correct recall and as a consumer and only transportation it is a burden for me . I also have a loan on this vehicle that is current in payments and must make future payments on a vehicle that is unsafe to drive. I feel gm. Needs to get this vehicle repaired ASAP. Or purchase back atr the cost of my loan. Very upset and angry there is at this time no resolution by gm and no parts available .

My lights on low beam are so dim I can't drive at night. I can't see they are so dim they are cloudy. Cadalliac dealer says it's a defect in light from moisture and I have to replace the whole assembly and with the same defective light. It will happen again. Gm should recall these and fix the problems. They know there's a problem but refuse. The power transmission has a hesitate in it sometimes in first gear taking off.
Timing chain is damaged and the car has less than 77,000 miles. It started having problem when the car was under warranty at about 66,000 miles. The dealer chose to just monitor and now miraculously once I have no warranty, the timing chain needs to be replaced. The light came on and the car is noisy while running.
When I bought the car in November of 2016 and drove it off the lot I've had nothing but problems. Two vehicles have almost hit me due to the lag in accerlation. I've spoken with my dealership several of times about this issue and they do not resolve the problem. There has been a recall on my SUV and I was told it was fixed but I can't find any supporting documents stating it was fixed properly. I currently go through 13 miles per gallon which is not normal.
I purchased a 2013 Srx used in January of 2017 and on several occasions today being the latest, after coming to a complete stop at 4-way intersections, when I try to press the gas pedal and move into the intersection the car coasts without power and leaves me stranded for a few seconds. With the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor the vehicle all of a sudden bolts forward causing the vehicle "peel out". Being stranded in the intersection is scary and I am afraid I will be hit. This is a safety concern, but it does not happen on a consistent basis for the dealership to locate the problem. I see on the internet several other concerns that sound very similar to this.

Display states: service all wheel drive system, rear axle, and a warning bell sounds continuously. Happened once before, both incidents on a long trip. On star said, on first occasion, to turn off vehicle and computer may reset itself. It did. On second occasion, would not reset and now have humming from front end.
The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Srx. While driving approximately 13 mph, the vehicle started to jerk and the electric seats and gps did not work. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (king o'rourke GMC Buick, Cadillac in smithtown, NY, 631-724-4700) where the failures were repaired under the warranty. The contact also stated that the power liftgate did not work. The same dealer was contacted and an appointment was scheduled for November 3, 2017. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the failure would be investigated. The contact was issued a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The transmission locked up when going up a hill in the adirondack mountains. The car would not accelerate nor would it shift and we had to immediately pull off the road. It lurched as if trying to shift was unable to do so. If we had been in the passing lane on an interstate when it happened it could have been very serious since we lost control of our speed. The car would not go into reverse or in neutral after it stopped. We were towed to a dealer the the entire transmission had to be replaced. The dealer contacted gm and, after describing the problem, was told immediately what had happened to the transmission. Clearly, this was not an unusual problem.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated the vehicle lagged in acceleration and delayed in the braking system when attempting to drive at various mph. The contact also mentioned the rear suspision made a very loud abnormal noise whenever driving at higher speeds without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (jim clark Chevrolet-Cadillac 911 goldenbelt blvd, junction city, KS 664410) however the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and narrowed down the failure to a faulty sensor which did not conclude the issue. The contact referrenced the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v212000 (power train) and NHTSA campaign number: 14v571000 (suspension) the vehicle was part of the two recalls howevere the failure reccured after the repairs were made. The approximate failure mileage was 8,400 tp.
Cadillac Srx,delivered on 5/31/13 (purchased 5/27/13). Srx serviced on 11/11/13 because of warning messages-service rear axel&awd on 10/30/13-called dealer immediately/arranged service on 11/11/13-mileage 6045). Only did computer updates. On 11/13/13(mileage 6277) came to a complete stop and when turning right the car was in very slow motion & barely moving with my foot on the gas, finally it moved. It happened again on 11/15/13 (mileage 6498) but turning left & another car was approaching on the right, thought I was going to be hit. Called dealer & told to bring it back. Dealer quite a distance from me afraid to drive the car there. On 11/19/13 (thought I could get to gm dealer (sat from 11/15/13) & turning right it did it again. I was quite upset and called onstar to tow it. Gm dealer, informed, might not have the diagnostics that the Cadillac dealer has to evaluate my Srx. They could not tell what my dealership had done from notes on the servicing on the Srx. Only thing found was to do ev update. On evening of 11/26/13 (mileage 6708)had acceleration problem again turning right from a complete stop. Called dealer & arranged to drop it off on 11/29/13 (mileage 7034)& receive a replacement car while mine was checked out. On a highway I went to pass a car and lost acceleration for a few seconds. At least I was going downhill or the cars coming up in the lane I was switching to would have hit me. Dealer cannot replicate the problem but did find that there was an update on heating/ac needed. Got Srx on 12/4/13. The dealer only drove my car 8 miles to do any testing. Again acceleration problem on 12/19/13( mileage 7584)& it was from a complete stop turning right but lasted a much longer time. Also when backing out of a parking space the problem arose yet again & called the dealership. 12/21/13 having Srx looked at again. 7 months old &same problem. Is it a lemon?.
The vehicle lost power immediately upon acceleration. The issue repeated itself twice since this first time. It presents danger of collision to anyone inside. Despite having a warranty nobody is willing to repair the issue.
Transmission shits very erratically when excelerating. Vehicle was recalled this year for this problem but the fix failed to solve the problem. The dealer is telling me that this is normal for an electronic transmission. This is insulting as my last vehicles had this and did not shift like the Srx. I am concerned that a major failure lies ahead that could strand my family or cause an accident and obviously cost thousands to repair or replace.
