Two problems related to crankshaft position sensor have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Starting the truck start driving at different speeds and the truck just shuts down. Let the truck sit for a few minutes and it will restart. Search the internet and talked to the local dealership mechanics and they all said that the crank sensor is the problem.
I have a 2001 2500 hd Chevrolet with the 8. 1 liter engine. The vehicle will stall in traffic and will not start again. The truck will run rough sometimes will start after a cool down period. This is a very dangerous situation with it stalling in traffic. This is the crankshaft sensor which is covered for same pickup with same engine out of a different plant. They say even though it is the same faulty part my pickup is not covered because it is from a different plant. This almost caused a accident while I was driving as it stalled as I was making a turn.
