Unknown Or Other problem #1

Oem carpet covering the interior engine cowling is curling up, causing it to interfere with the travel of the gas pedal. Gas pedal cannot come back to its resting position, causing the vehicle to continue to accelerate.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

1998 Chevrolet Astro van, unit 1 was traveling west on ir 80 in the right lane. Unit1 went off the right side of the roadway, over corrected, and went spinning 270 degrees and went off the left side of the roadway and struck the median barrier. The driver change his story and said his tire blew out and van lost control.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

As I was driving over some railroad tracks both of my front torsion bars failed and broke. Had I been traveling on the interstate, it could have been fatal. From my online research, this same failure has happend to thousands of owners and no recall was done. Gm even redesigned the torsion bars because of the known design flaws and it will cost well over $1,000 to repair.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

I recently began driving a 2003 Chevrolet Astro van on occasion and have had several instances where my foot has slipped off of (or missed entirely) the brake pedal. The pedal measures approximately 2. 625" x 2. 0" and is 50% to 300% smaller than those on other passenger vehicles or mid-sized pickup trucks in our fleet. I have had a couple near misses in colliding with other vehicles or objects when this happens, but consider it only a matter of time before an accident occurs.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

Owner took the dealer, ann davids was the manager, the dealer denies any problem. The first day, owner notices a dust under hood, then noticed the wires were burnt underhood and under car. Took car back to dealer, and everything was apparently okay. Owner tried cruise control to check the vehicle, when cruise control was on, vehilce accelerated unintentionally, then owner pulled off and put the car in neutral. When in neutral, the vehilce started to rev. Then a big bang, and smoke was coming out of the exausht. After vehicle cooled, he shut off the cruise control, and checked the accelerator, then started the car again. The accelerator stuck again, when this happened, the driver would put it neutral. Car was taken by tow truck to the dealership. The manager reports all if fixed, but no cruise control. 450 dollars for new cruise control.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

The line that runs from the accumulator and connects to the rear evaporator, compression suction, discharge junction block and condenser sits against the bell housing of the transmission. Due to vibration it has worn a hole in the line causing the refrigerant to leak at a rapid rate. It appears to be a design flaw. I have had a mechanic and a heating/cooling system technician look at it with the same results. It is an ongoing process of charging the system every 3 to 4 days which is time consuming and expensive.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

- the automatic door locks locked more than once. I called the Chevrolet dealer since I could not leave since I could not lock the side doors; a mechanic informed me that it had something to do with synchronization of the automatic door lock while I actually lock the doors (very confusing to me). He suggested that I use a screwdriver to manually release the locked mechanism on both doors. I finally was able to do it, but this happened more than once; in one incident, the door opened as I was making a right turn (fortunately, no one was on my left). I wonder if others have experienced such problem which I feel is not safe. I never took this in for checking, but I might. - the motor on the driver's side window often locks and I am unable to close the window -- this has resulted in snow, hail, strong winds forcing me to stop and keep pressing the button in order to close the window and to continue my travelling. Anyone else with similar problems? I never took the car in, but I will inquire to the dealer about it -- hoping that there will be no charge for this malfunction. - the car was losing power in accelleration, which often made it dangerous on the highway while travelling, and merging lanes. The dealer just worked on the van last may, 2003, as noted above. Fortunately, this will be a good correction and I am just sorry that we had to pay for this.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

His site was sent to us and we are concerned with the discrepancies in the mileage on the odometer on a van we made a down payment on to buy. The numbers just don't match and there is a period of 7 months van cannot be accounted for. The dealer said he had no information on previous owner, although in Nov. 2002, the same dealer changed oil, then 7 months lapse. Can you help us ? the van is a year 2000 Astro and we are trying to find out about the mileage. Thanks donnabill2@msn. Com.
