Door Hinge Problems of Chevrolet Astro

2001 Chevrolet Astro van had to have all 4 outside door handles replaced. Each one had become cracked.

I have a 2000 chev Astro pass. Van LS ext sport. Both driver and passenger doors are separating from thier hinges. The adhesive is failing, and I and afraid the doors will fall off.

The rear inside door handle broke off the door panel. Consumer was unable to exit the vehicle from the inside. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

Sliding door hinges broke, causing door to be off track. Dealer will repair vehicle.

Leased vehicle. Rear cargo door hinge and latch slipped off and opened totally to 180 degrees. Dealer contacted, and stated that it was an error in design. Problem still exists.

Steel rod that supports front edge of sliding door sticks out into the front passengers head room area, where tall people would hit it in an accident.

Sliding passenger door no longer comes with a manual release for the open position. If the van is backed nose down on a hill the door will not stay open. Someone has to hold it. The friction plate can be tightened but that will eventually cause failure as that wear.

Side sliding door may close on foreward down hill, the door has friction type catch, older models had a cable control release.

Everytime the sliding door is opened it falls off the track. Dealer has tried to correct this problem six times over the last 2 years. Please provide any further information.
