Rear driver side window exploded and the glass completely shattered, without being struck with an object. Vehicle was parked and turned off when this occurred. Dealership was contacted. No injuries were sustained because the seat was not occupied at the time of the incident.

2 Side/rear Glass problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Astro

Failure Date: 07/10/1997

When driving and a big truck passes the Astro and the rear side quarter window shut all by itself, when the window is opened the lock on the window is adjusted so that the window could stay open. But for some reason when something heavy winded comes by like a big truck, the window would shut without any notice. The owner states that there are children that sit back in the rear of the Astro, and that this is dangerous for the window to shut like this.

Passenger's sliding door glass window blew out in while driving 70 mph. State trooper, when called, gave a description of the problem before consumer could give any information. State trooper stated that this happened frequently.
