One problem related to hatchback/liftgate lock has been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While having all supplies for police firearms training lock in the back of my 2004 Avalanche the tailgate would not unlock, dealer need to replace unit, same thing happened the very next day at the range. Returned to dealer and this time I was told they were using bad springs.
