Automatic Transmission problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche

Two problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2010

The contact owns 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards while it was in park. The vehicle was not parked on a hill. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that there was a related technical service bulletin stating that some vehicles may rock or move forward while in the park position. The dealer also stated that the failure was caused by the transmission fluid releasing from the clutch pad which was normal. The contact stated this was not normal and could have caused the vehicle to crash into the garage. The dealer stated that there was nothing to repair. The failure mileage was 64,400. 2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2007

While driving on the highway about 70-75 miles a hour, passing another vehicle, the passing gear engaged, then there was a loss of power to the vehicle. Once the truck got under 40 mph you have no drive gear only 1,2, or 3rd gear will get you moving. Vehicle lost 4th gear.
