Comunting to work approximately 3 miles away from home, traveling in the dark at 7 am, I flipped my high beam headlights on and suddenly all electrical function went out of the automobile (no headlights or electrical instrumentation). This lasted for approximately 1 to 2 seconds and suddenly and all electrical functions was restored. Things after that seemed ok, but about 6 miles down the road the engine "service stabilizer control light appears" . I traveled another 11 miles to plainville, and when I arrived the "stabilizer control light went out. I took the vehicle to a mechanic them to evaluate it. After several hours and two diagnostic tests all electrical function reflect normal. The problem could not be isolated or duplicated. I contact general motors yesterday, to report the serious safety defect and how critical this is and I could have been injurred or killed at that speed driving in the dark. I also asked them if they have had similiar reportings of this occurrence and received a mixed response. There response was bureaucratic, take it to a Chevrolet dealership. I said no. I am not paying another $150. 00 tell me we cannot find a problem. I kept stressing there is a problem "vehicles suddenly do not just dropped off all electrical power and function and magically just come back on". This is not normal for any vehicle to happen. I also informed them as a courtesy I would speak to them (general motors) first before I contact this agency. I also tried to emphasize to them, people should have a direct line of communication to the corporation to report safety and life threatening issues directly. The nature of the response is basically we don't do anything unless we receive information from gm service departments.
This vehicle has had oil consumption problems since purchased. It runs out of oil 1500 miles after an oil change. Several consumer complaints have proved this is a very common problem and suggested reporting it to the epa. My truck now needs a new engine because of this common defect with the afm and bad lifters in the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanches. It is completely abnormal for an engine to burn this much oil into the environment. Not to mention the consumers who are now being forced to replace engines due to this problem. It needs to be fixed.

So I was sitting at a red light, everything was cool. . And when I started to accellerate the truck almost felt like we got rear-ended. Then when I tried to accelerate it felt like it had slipped into neutral. Drive is completely dead, when I put it into drive, I get nothing. So I put it in 1st, and it worked, it went into gear. Then when I started to accelerate it made this horrible scratching/grinding/whining sound. So I can accelerate slowly and switch to 2nd, slowly, and accelerate slowly and switch to 3rd. 3rd feels good when I accelerate but then if I step on it, it slips out of 3rd back to that neutral feeling. If I try to accelerate quickly in 1st and 2nd I get that horrible sound and grinding feel. it is so many people having this same problem over and over. Some say the dealer charge them over $2800 plus to repair others say some dealers fixed the part in the trans called the forward sprag gear and everthings was ok. Its crazy that so many people with the same problem. 95 percent of the trucks despite the mileage ( 30, 000 to 93, 000) on her truck did this right after the warranty was up. My truck 07 with only 62, xxx on it trans has now done the same thingas everyone else truck. Someone should force gm to recall these transmission and fix them. Word is they used the same transmission thats in mid size cars and light duty trucks and if so everybody will have issues with a full size truck and a light duty transmission!.
One day while driving at 55mph the truck just shut down. Everything electrical completely shut off. Luckily I was able to control it. I turned the vehicle off and restarted it. It was fine but did it again when I stopped at a stop sign. It continued to do it but then just stopped. Check engine light goes off and on all the time when I accelerate up a hill. The lights on the dashboard are dim. Everything on the mirror comes and goes. It will go months without working and then comes back on. The suspension is terrible. Feels like it's going to shake the wheels completely off the truck when I hit even a small bump in the road. I've almost lost control several times due to it shaking so hard. Latch on the tailgate broke off and needs to be replaced. Rotor on back completely broke and had to be replaced.

The vehicle doors will unlock and lock several times while I’m driving, it will also cause the dashboard, clock-radio and onstar system to flicker off and on. Then it will start to throw error messages on the dashboard about stabilitrak and theft deterrent systems disabled.
Reduced engine power , engine dies no power steering or power brakes almost rear ended on I-25. Trouble code says p2135 throttle body has happened 20 times or more in 8 months. Dealer where purchased say they never heard of this problem then said new wiring harness might fix it,knew the price without looking it up? there are thousands of posts on line about problem, but they never heard of it. Wiring harness replaced throttle body cleaned and checked peddle checked still happens ,have spent hundreds. No solution . I have to drive on highway to get to work on oil rig,I'm afraid it well cause an accident . Gm doesn't know what is causing problem and doesn't seem to care.

My main concern is the fact that the vehicle burns excessive amounts of oil. I have lodged about five complaints with ourisman rockmont Chevrolet and my concerns remained unadressed. They did, on one occasion, change a gasket cover and oil pan gasket, but the problem persisted. Finally, I was recently told that I needed an oil deflector per a service bulletin and was told it would cost nearly $1,500. 00. Although my concerns were all made during the warranty period, ourisman is attempting to charge me now that my vehicle is outside the warranty. I contacted chevy customer service but no luck.
The four wheel drive service lamp frequently illuminates at different speeds and stays on until the truck is restarted, then the lamp will stay off for days , then come back on for no reason, when the truck is scanned no codes are returned, the truck seems to drive fine, but the problem is very annoying.

The linear position of doors are irregular, the front fender is beyond usual meet. The plastic structure of the back is not in alignment with the body. The rear-view mirror vibrates which is a hazard at night, anyone can mistake the flickering as the cars changing lanes when not the case. Since the doors are not properly aligned the wind, dirt and mist of water, bypasses the weather strip. There is overspray on black exterior paint. Since it was up on a ramp the dealer said the only way I could see the inside or test drive was if I got pre-qualified ,that ended up been my sales contract! when the truck was lowered down they gave me the keys at 7pm which was dark in the fall, so it was very difficult to distinguish. Repairs to the fuel pump, distortion of the windshield, the body defects,rear-view mirror, loud squealing brakes, the handles of the doors that has peeled and the steering wheels inner faces has also peeled. The stabilizer light came on when my fuel pump wentout and since then it does not stabilize the chassis when in contact with natural hazards such as rain, sand,s now and any type of uneven terrain. My tire pressure light appears periodically, although my tires are inflated with nitrogen. My right tail-lights linear position is irregular, but normal on the left side. My battery has gone dead on my once for no apparent reason. My gas cap indicator light also comes on periodically and it has been replaced a couple of time. My passenger front doors frame has a malformation where it makes the weather strip seem un even or falling off. A problem that still can't be repaired is the carpet that isn't fitted and is loose. Unfortuneately, its very a attractive truck, but the experience has been a nightmare that I still cannot awake from. I want gm to acknowledge the occurring problem & buyback the truck. Complaints began 09/01/06 and has been in the shop for extensive repairs 9 times & spent 60days & counting.
