Chevrolet Aveo owners have reported 4 problems related to turn signal (under the exterior lighting category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Aveo based on all problems reported for the Aveo.
Dash lights did not turn on when the headlights were turned on. Also, running lights did not turn on after my headlights were turned on (front and rear right). Left rear turn signal does not work. I was told by a mechanic this was due to the splice pack melting. He also informed me this was a known issue with Chevrolet Aveo's. This should be a manufacturers issue and not the owners if it is a known hazardous issue.

Several customers have had this same problem with defective wiring inside of the fuse box in which the splice pack overheats and causes wires to melt. This causes the electrical systems to malfunction, brake lights to go out, turn signals to stop working, dash safety indicators to flicker on and off, the radio to stop working, and headlights to stop working. This is an ongoing problem that chevy does not want to address but it has caused a car to stall in the middle of the highway and affects safety of the vehicle passengers, the driver, and the passengers in other vehicles. I feel that the 2004-2008 chevy Aveo is a prime candidate for a recall because of safety issues.

My daytime running lights have pretty much never worked, I have always had to manually engage my lights otherwise the dtr lights would go for a few minutes then burn flicker and short out, only working when I turn the lights on the manual way. My back turn signal shorted out around early 2012. Not only did it stop working but it melted the light socket housing, making it so I had to replace the whole light socket. Most recently, either may 14th or 15th, I started up my car, but I couldn't put it into gear, it was impossible to get it into gear, so we tried to turn off the car to figure out our next move. But the key would not come out, so we had to restart the car and finally got the gear to engage, and we took it home and had to unplug the battery because we could not take out the key but did not want it to wear out the battery.
