Consumer states ball joints are constantly failing. Consumer has had to replace them twice. A recall was initiated, but consumer's VIN was not included. Related recalls 01v200000 and 01i018000. Right front wheel fell off as a result of the faulty ball joints. There was squeaking noise on turns due to idler arm failure. Front pads worn out and rotors failed, both were replaced.
Had faulty tfp switch and dip stick replaced per bulliten #86-71-17 on 2-8-99. On 3-20-02 tranmission failed took it to dealer but they do not rebuild them. Took it to qualified transmission mechanic. He rebuilt it at a cost of $1900. 00. He said he found a lot of rust in it which is very unusual. I plan to call Chevrolet about this but I doult this will get me anywhere.
Transmission dipstick tube and dipstick have rusted. Am afraid that this is beginning of a serious transmission problem. Nothing else in the engine compartment is rusty and vehicle has been rustproofed. Problem may be internal.
Transmission gets water in it and keeps rusting. Contacted dealer, and dealer is not willing to do anything.

Erratic performance of abs has caused consumer to downshift in order to stop vehicle which in time, has affected transmission. Transmisson needed to be replaced. It took 45 days for the vehicle to be repaired, and the consumer had to pay for most of the costly repairs. Consumer wants to be reimbursed.
I've owned 25 vehicles, its time to switch to a Dodge. No safety defect (s) mentioned.
While driving home from the airport I noticed the sos light was illuminated, I stoped the Blazer and checked the oil level it was okay. Upon starting and when the transmission shifted to 2nd gear it slammed on the shift. After taking it to the dealer, they told me thar I would have to have it rebuilt. I asked the mechanic that serviced the truck what failed he told me that water was found in the transmission and that rust was the problem, after asking him how it got there he told me that GMC was having problems with the transmission dip stick tube and that they were leaking water to the transmission, and a service bulletin # 99-07-30-004 was out on the truck and if they did not do the work ASAP that this is what hade caused many failures. Repair cost is $1400. 00.
While traveling unable to shift gears. Povide further details. Dealer notified and refused to repair unless cost goes to consumer.
Dip stick within the transmission rusted.
The transmission seals and gaskets had to be replaced at a very low mileage.
While leaving a traffic light the car died. This could have caused an accident.
I have owned the vehicle 4 months and have had to have 2 transmissions replaced, GMC has had more time with my Blazer than I have.
Transmission replaced by owner 4x4 not working.
This was reported previously as engine coolant problem. This one's correct.
Continued powertrain noise, replacement of transmiision mount, front wheel bearings and u-joint, however did not rectify noise. Mjs.

Brakes: since owning the vehicle, it has been towed three times for transmission. Transmission replaced once, computer chip for transmission, but they say there is nothing wrong with transmission. Engine check light is constantly coming on, and the light for the abs is also coming on.
I work at night driving and often have to break fast for deer crossing the highways. The first time I had to break quickly for 2 deer the vehicle gave a growling sound and just continued at the same speed until I had hit the deer. The last time this happened was today and luckily I was able to swerve around the deer without losing control. I complained of the transmission in March , 2000 and was told there is nothing wrong with it. At that time I had them change the transmission fluid, filter and gasket, but it still has times when it doesn't want to go.
Engine check light illuminated, resulting in hard shifting from first to second gear. Dealership reviewed vehicle; however found no defect, and suggested to have transmission replaced.
Vehicle moves forward when in reverse/stalls.
Rust has appeared in the transmission fluid due to a problem that occurred within the tube that houses the dip stick, which could cause the transmission to malfunction . Please give any further details.
Vehicle did not go into reverse. Dealer has repaired the vehicle.
I have had two major problems with this vehicle since it's purchase date. The transmission has experienced two major failures and the dealer said he replaced them both times. I have continued to experience shifting problems and occassional lockup of the transmission when shifting from park to drive. The transmission dip stick and filler tube have had to be replaced twice for rust which leads me to believe that engine cooolant is getting into the transmission fluid. The second problem is naturally the abs brake system. This is the sorriest excuse for brakes on a vehicle that I have seen. I must almost stand on the brake pedal with excessive pressure to get the vehicle to stop. I also experienced premature brake pad wear out on the front which damage the rotors. Chevrolet refused to fix this under warranty even though the vehicle only had 20,000 miles on it. The abs system locks up sometimes when I push hard on the brakes. I have experienced several near accidents because of the poor braking system on this vehicle. I would appreciate any help you could be to leverage Chevrolet to correct these problems.
