Fuel Delivery problems of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Three problems related to fuel delivery have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Delivery problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2006

Fuel pump always reads full. I ran out of gas yesterday, and that is enough. I know of two other Blazers at my work that are doing the same thing. Time for the sending unit to be recalled.

2 Fuel Delivery problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2005

1997 Chevrolet Blazer had problems with gas in the computer resulting in loss to transmission gears and the wiring harness. The fuel injector(s) were cracked and forced gas into the wiring harness.

3 Fuel Delivery problem

For a while the fuel pump has been whining. But when taken to the shop they say they could not hear it. So it came back home. Then I sent it back again. They decided it was the fuel sender. At this time the car was already out of warranty because of mileage. But I called gm and they took care of it. Well needless to say the problem was still not taken care of. While driving down the road it just dies , has done that to me several times. One time crossing a four lane of traffic. Luckily not at a busy time. Extremely dangerous. So they replaced the fuel sender. Has not quit the noise since and dies with no warning. To me I think it is dangerous. But they asked me to drive it up there. Already have replaced the fuel sender and the four wheel drive unit. I just want to know if all of the merchandise is this bad any more or this is just a fluke. We have two other chev. One with 140,000miles and one with 265,000 miles so I don't think we neglect our vehicles. Otherwise we wouldnl't get the mileage.
