While driving 60 to 70 mph consumer stated vehicle stalled in middle of highway without warning. When engine stalled engine check light came on. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated it was a module in fuel tank.

Consumer states he smelled a strong odor of gas coming from the rear of the vehicle, upon inspection consumer was informed that the o-ring on the gas tank was leaking, dealer replaced the seals, fuel sender/pump assembly (tank unit), also the sending unit to o-ring leaking and the clip broke.

4 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2001

Fuel gauge is not reading correctly, cause is unknown. The fuel guage malfunctoning could cause safety hazared on travel, the consumer pointed out.

Fuel gauge doesn't read below a half of tank. It's been confirmed from a former chevorlet employer that there's a problem with sending unit. Consumer has found a dealership that will look into a goodwill gesture manufacturer.

Gas guage fluctuates each time vehicle is started up. Tank may be half, but due to malfuction it reads full. Inadequate readings has caused consumer to run out of gas. Problem has existed since December 2000. Dealer was informed, and stated that fuel sending unit was defective.

Ran out of gas. Fuel gauge showed half full. Towed to dealer, replaced tank sensor, costed $500. I'm not to happy with gm.

Failure Date: 08/03/2000

Consumer attempted to start vehicle a couple of times, and smell of gas was seeping inside of vehicle. . Consumr got out & noticed fuel was leaking onto the ground. Dealership was notified & they're currently looking at the vehicle.

Failure Date: 07/03/2000

Sending unit on 1997 Chevrolet Blazer was replaced. . The dealer replaced the gas tank and sending unit.

10 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 01/06/1999

At 40,000 miles fuel guage stopped operating, unable to know proper amount of fuel in tank. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that part was out of its warranty and not covered under a recall. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

Fuel gauage does not register the correct levels of fuel, cause unknown. Fuel gauage always stays on full level, eventhough it only has 2 gallons in tank.

Vehicle rearended at 70 mph. The vehicle ignited on impact. Driver lost control of vehicle. There were about (3) explosions after the vehicle came to rest. Vehicle was totalled and driver was able to escape with minor injuries.

Consumer notice fuel indicator gives wrong reading due to fuel tank electrical short.

When on empty the gauge still says 1\2 tank. I was in the country, alone when I ran out of gas at 10:45pm.
