Two problems related to frame and members have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have contacted Chevrolet and they will not assume responsibility for the frame weld failing. They acknowledge the vehicle is unsafe to drive, but offer no remedy other than replacing the frame at my own expense. They could not provide me with a cost to do this type of replacement. I feel this is a potential safety issue effecting other owners. I would like to see Chevrolet take responsibilty for what is obviously a manufacturing defect. I realize the vehicle is out of warranty because of miles, but it is a 2 year old vehicle which a reasonable person should expect the frame to last beyond that time.
Internal bracing is inadequate and has, as a result of the apparent lack of structural integrity of the mounting brackets (and internal mounting structures), caused a few welds to begin splitting and begun to cause denting in the sheet metal on the side of the vehicle.
