Seven problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
T-bone collision, approximately 45 mph. Front end of vehicle badly damaged. No airbag deployment.
While driving 45 mph the driver drove over some black ice and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle ran into an embankment head on. The consumer stated that neither of the frontal air bags deployed. The consumer contacted the dealer.
The vehicle was involved in a frontal accident, and none of the air bags deployed.
Front crash at 40 mph, vehicle hit a tree. Neither airbag deployed, driver suffered minor injuries. Amount of damage unknown at this time. Ts.
Headlights were going on and off while traveling down dark curved road. Light flickered so much that consumer was trying to pull over and struck a tree head-on, and rolled over once. Abs brakes had failed. Airbags didn't deploy. GMC filed a complaint.
While driving, the rpms started revving while cruise control was activated, consumer turned cruise control off, however was knocked out by the inadvertent deployment of the air bag, causing his foot to hit the accelerator pedal, vehicle went across the passing lane, over a guardrail and down a 30 foot embankment.
While driving with speed control on, vehicle started to accelerate. Also, air bags deployed, knocking consumer out. Vehicle crashed and consumer was injured. Consumer states that the deployment of the air bag is what caused the accident.
